From the Great Wall of China and Xi’an’s Terracotta Warriors, to serene Halong Bay and the lush Mekong Delta, a host of travel icons await on this cruise-and-stay holiday. After time in Beijing and Xi’an, you’ll board your luxurious ship ready for a cruise down Vietnam’s coastline. You’ll stop off at Hanoi, Hué, Nha Trang and Ho Chi Minh City, then venture to Borneo and the Philippines. A full-day tour of Hong Kong rounds off this memorable trip.
Day 1 Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your overnight flight to Beijing.
Days 2-4 We’ll arrive in Beijing on day 2 and transfer to our hotel, with the remainder of the day at leisure. Over the following two days we’ll see plenty of the Chinese capital’s highlights. Guided tours take us to Tian’anmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace, plus a section of the Great Wall at Badaling. We’ll stop by a jade factory, too, and enjoy a rickshaw ride and lunch with a local family in the historic hutongs.
Days 5-6 We’ll fly to Xi’an, then enjoy a guided tour of the Small Wild Goose Pagoda and Great Tang All Day Mall. On day 6, we’ll head off to see the famous Terracotta Army, where more than 6,000 life-size warriors and horses stand in battle formation. We’ll also see the ancient city walls and visit a workshop specialising in reproductions of the horse and warrior figurines. In the evening, we’ll sit down to watch the Tang Dynasty Show.
Day 7 We fly to Hong Kong and transfer to the port to embark our ship. We set sail late afternoon.
Day 9 Today, we arrive in Hanoi - gateway to beautiful Halong Bay. This UNESCO-protected area is speckled with thousands of mountainous islands and limestone rock formations. Join a boat trip to make the most of the scenery. Ship to shore tender service.
Day 10 Our port today sits midway between atmospheric Hué and cultural Da Nang. Visit Hué, the former imperial capital, for delicious Vietnamese cuisine, quiet pagodas and handmade souvenirs (including silk-painting note cards and locally woven cottons). Or head for Da Nang to discover China Beach and the fascinating Cham Museum.
Day 11 Set along the Song Cai River, this part of Vietnam was once a peaceful Champa settlement. You can visit a handful of ancient Cham Towers from Nha Trang, each one revealing unique details about Cham culture. Ship to shore tender service.
Days 12-13 Ho Chi Minh City’s streets are filled with beeping mopeds, tuk-tuks and cars - but explore on foot and you can duck down quiet backstreets and discover tranquil parks and pagodas.
The city is also the jumping-off point for the Mekong Delta, a network of canals and tributaries edged with rice paddies, coconut palms and mango orchards. We stay docked overnight, giving you time to fully explore this wonderful part of Vietnam.
Day 15 We arrive in Malaysian Borneo this morning. Head into the rainforest-cloaked interior in search of quirky wildlife (think proboscis monkeys, orang-utans and pygmy elephants) and colourful plant life; make a beeline for the sugar-sand beaches that edge the shoreline here; or perhaps see the sights in bustling Kota Kinabalu itself.
You could also choose to ride Borneo’s last train into the countryside, passing rural farms, quiet villages and water buffalo as you go. Ship to shore tender service.
Day 16 Spend today exploring the miles of pristine beaches and lush wilderness of Puerto Princesa. Maybe visit the UNESCO-protected underground river, or head to Honda Bay, great for snorkelling and island hopping.
Day 19 After disembarking this morning, we’ll enjoy a full-day tour of Hong Kong. We’ll take in the views from Victoria Peak, barter for souvenirs at Stanley Market and get a glimpse of local life at Aberdeen fishing village. This evening, we’ll transfer to the airport for your overnight return flight to the UK.
Day 20 Upon arrival, your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.
