Day 1 : Arrival In Kathmandu - Pre-Departure Briefing

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you’ll be greeted by our team and transferred to your hotel. After settling in, take some time to explore the vibrant streets of Thamel or simply relax. In the evening, attend a comprehensive pre-departure briefing. This session will cover the itinerary, safety protocols, and what to expect on your horse riding journey to Everest. This is your chance to ask any last-minute questions and meet your fellow adventurers. You'll also get an introduction to the horses you'll be riding and how to manage them in mountainous terrain. Day 2 : Lukla Arrival - Descent To Phakding On Horseback

Location: Phakding

Start your day early with a thrilling flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the gateway to Everest. The flight offers stunning views of the Himalayan range and takes about 30-35 minutes. Upon landing in Lukla (2,860 meters), you’ll meet your horse and support team. After a short break, begin your journey on horseback, descending gradually through beautiful pine forests to the village of Phakding (2,610 meters). The 9 km (5.6 miles) trail, covered in approximately 3-4 hours, winds through local villages and along the Dudh Koshi River. It’s a relatively easy ride, perfect for adjusting to the altitude and getting accustomed to your horse. Overnight in Phakding.

Day 3 : Crossing The Dudh Koshi River - Arrival In Namche Bazaar

Location: Namche Bazar

After breakfast, saddle up for a ride that will take you deeper into the Khumbu region. The trail today is about 10-12 km (6.2-7.5 miles) and will take around 5-6 hours. You’ll cross the Dudh Koshi River multiple times via thrilling suspension bridges adorned with prayer flags. The trail ascends gradually, passing through dense forests and small Sherpa villages, with a final steep climb to Namche Bazaar (3,440 meters). As the administrative center of the Khumbu region, Namche is bustling with activity, offering a chance to visit local markets, cafes, and shops. The elevation gain today is significant, so you’ll need to ride at a comfortable pace. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

You'll also enter Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site established to protect the fragile mountain ecosystem. Enjoy a delightful lunch at a teahouse in Jorsalle, a picturesque village nestled amidst rhododendron forests. After lunch, continue your scenic ride, tackling a steeper section that leads to Namche Bazaar (3,440m), a bustling Sherpa trading hub. Check into your lodge and spend the afternoon exploring the lively market, soaking in the unique atmosphere, and allowing your body to adjust to the higher altitude.

Day 4 : Acclimatization Day In Namche Bazaar

Location: Namche Bazar

Today is dedicated to acclimatization. Acclimatization is crucial for preventing altitude sickness as you ascend higher in the coming days. After breakfast, embark on a short hike on foot to the Everest View Hotel, one of the highest luxury hotels in the world, where you can enjoy panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. This hike covers about 3-5 km (1.8-3.1 miles) and takes around 2-3 hours. You can also explore Namche Bazaar’s local attractions, such as the Sherpa Museum and the Namche Monastery. Rest in the afternoon to ensure your body adjusts to the altitude. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 5 : Namche Bazaar To Tengboche Monastery

After a hearty breakfast, continue your journey on horseback towards Tengboche Monastery, one of the most significant spiritual sites in the region. After a descent to the Dudh Koshi River, you’ll climb steeply through rhododendron forests to reach Tengboche (3,867 meters). Day 6 : Tengboche Monastery To Dingboche

After a morning visit to the Tengboche Monastery to absorb the serene atmosphere and perhaps witness the monks' morning prayers, you’ll begin your ride to Dingboche. The journey today covers approximately 12 km (7.5 miles) and takes about 5-6 hours on horseback. The trail starts with a descent through lush forests before crossing the Imja Khola River. As you ascend towards Pangboche, the landscape becomes more barren, with stunning views of Ama Dablam. You’ll pass through quaint villages and traverse open, rugged terrain as you approach Dingboche (4,410 meters). This village, known as the "Summer Valley," is situated in a picturesque setting beneath the towering peaks. The higher altitude will be noticeable, so pacing yourself and staying hydrated is key. Overnight in Dingboche.

Day 7 : Acclimatization Day In Dingboche

Location: Dingboche

Another day dedicated to acclimatization is crucial for a successful summit of Everest Base Camp. Today is another essential acclimatization day to help your body adjust to the thinner air at higher altitudes. After breakfast, take a short hike on foot to the Nangkartshang Peak, which stands at 5,083 meters. The round-trip hike covers about 4-5 km (2.5-3.1 miles) and takes around 3-4 hours.

The effort is rewarded with panoramic views of Makalu, Lhotse, and the Imja Valley. Returning to Dingboche, spend the afternoon exploring the village or resting. The day’s light activity will help your body adapt without overexerting yourself. You can also visit the Kunde Hospital, a high-altitude medical facility established by Sir Edmund Hillary, a pioneer in Himalayan exploration.

In the afternoon, return to your lodge and enjoy the tranquility of the mountain environment. Relax, read a book, or simply soak in the breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks as your body adjusts to the increasing altitude.

Day 8 : Ride From Dingboche To Lobuche

Location: Lobuche

As you ascend further, the terrain becomes more rugged and barren, but the views grow even more spectacular. The journey from Dingboche to Lobuche is relatively moderate, involving about 4-5 hours of riding with some trekking where the trail is steep. Along the way, you’ll pass the memorial site dedicated to climbers who lost their lives on Everest, offering a moment for reflection. (4,410m to 4,940m)

Day 9 : Ride From Lobuche To Gorakshep - Trek To Everest Base Camp - Return To Gorakshep

Location: Everest Base Camp, Gorakshep

Today is the highlight of the trek as you make your way to Everest Base Camp. You’ll ride from Lobuche to Gorakshep, a journey of about 3 hours. After arriving in Gorakshep, the horses will rest as you trek to Everest Base Camp, which takes about 2-3 hours each way. The feeling of standing at the base of the world’s tallest peak is indescribable. After soaking in the awe-inspiring atmosphere and capturing photos, you’ll return to Gorakshep for the night. (4,940m to 5,170m to 5,364m and back to 5,170m)

Day 10 : Gorakshep To Kala Patthar - Ride To Pheriche

Location: Pheriche, Kala Patthar

An early morning hike to Kala Patthar offers one of the best viewpoints of Mount Everest. The trek takes about 2-3 hours and provides breathtaking sunrise views over Everest and the surrounding peaks. Afterward, you’ll return to Gorakshep, mount your horse, and ride down to Pheriche, a journey of approximately 4 hours. (5,170m to 5,545m to 4,210m)

Day 11 : Ride From Pheriche To Namche Bazaar

Location: Namche Bazar, Pheriche

Today, you’ll retrace your steps back to Namche Bazaar, enjoying a mostly downhill ride. The trail offers familiar views but from a different perspective. You’ll ride for about 5-6 hours, with stops along the way to rest and enjoy the scenery. As you arrive in Namche, you can relax and reflect on the incredible journey you’ve undertaken. (4,210m to 3,440m)

Day 12 : Ride From Namche Bazaar To Lukla - Flight To Kathmandu

Location: Tenzing-Hillary Airport, Kathmandu

Your final day of riding takes you back to Lukla, a journey of about 5 hours. The route descends through the same trail, offering a last look at the stunning landscapes and Sherpa villages. Upon reaching Lukla, you’ll prepare for the scenic flight back to Kathmandu. If weather delays the flight, you may need to stay an extra night in Lukla. Otherwise, once in Kathmandu, you’ll be transferred to your hotel for a well-deserved rest. (3,440m to 2,860m)

Amazing Trek to Annapurna Base Camp

Exceptional Three Passes Trek Experience with Trek Mania

We did the Three Passes trek this September and booked through Trek Mania. With so many companies to choose from, it’s hard to know which one will be best, but we’re glad we made the right choice! The owner was incredibly friendly and ensured we were well taken care of from the moment we arrived in Kathmandu. The guide he arranged for us, Hem, was outstanding—kind, knowledgeable, and always looking out for us. When we encountered bad weather, Hem truly shined, expertly guiding us to safety. We honestly don’t know what we would have done without him. Along the way, we also learned so much about the surrounding landscape and local culture. Trek Mania made sure everything was organized, so all we had to do was focus on enjoying the hike, which was exactly what we wanted. Highly recommend!

Can’t wait to go back

Went on multiple day tours in Nepal with guide and private driver. Food was great weather was cloudy so couldn’t see mountain ranges unfortunately. Went paragliding that was a lot of fun.
