Ghorepani Poonhill Trek is one of the most popular low altitude trekking in the foothills of Annapurna Massif. This beautiful trail takes you to quaint villages of hills offering the unobstructed 360 view of the snow-covered peaks like Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and associated peaks. Poonhill is the best vantage point of the entire trek to watch the sunrise view over the Annapurna range. Poonhill, which can be reached within a 1.5 hour hike from Ghorepani offers the best panoramic views of Annapurna range in the east and Dhaulagiri range in the west. Another major highlight of Ghorepani Poonhill trekking is a cozy village of Ghandruk with settlement of Gurungs, an ethnic community of Nepal. Undoubtedly, Ghandruk is the best place to enjoy magnificent mountain views and experience the beautiful culture and traditions of Gurung community.

Day 1 : Arrive In Kathmandu

Welcome to Nepal. Arrival day at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. Upon exiting the airport, look for a “Trekking to Nepal” sign and meet our airport representative there. He will transfer you from airport to the hotel. Take some rest and recover from your jetlag.
Day 2 : Drive To Pokhara
Location: Pokhara

Get ready for travelling to Pokhara, the beautiful lake city of Nepal. Wake up early and get ready by 6:30 am. Our trekking guide will pick you up to the bus station. By 7:30 am, we embark on our journey to Pokhara in a tourist bus. Along the journey, enjoy the scenic view of lushing rivers flowing towards Terai region, villages, towns, terraced farms, green hills and majestic mountains.
Day 3 : Drive To Nayapul (1,010 M) And Trek To Tikhedhunga (1,570 M)

After driving an hour from Pokhara, we will reach Nayapul from where our trek commences. Today’s trek will be relatively short and easy for about 4 to 5 hour in a beautiful trail.
From Nayapul, the trek begins to rise gently up along the Modi Khola, crosses rhododendron forests and then heads to Birethanti village. The views of Machhapuchhre along with cultivable farmland is spectacular during the trek. Next, we walk past the north bank of the Bhurungdi Khola, climb uphill to Hille (1,495 m), and continue trek until we reach our next stopping point Tikhedhunga (1,570 m).
Day 4 : Trek To Ghorepani (2,840 M)

Leaving Tikhedhunga, we will hike to a higher elevation at Ghorepani, a beautiful village with astonishing mountain views. The trek starts with a steep climb to Ulleri (2,070 m), passes by Banthati village and then crosses the river along the route. From there, the trail rises up through cultivated fields and pastures. En route you come across many Chautaras, a stone resting place for travellers along the trail. As we go higher, we walk past several streams and walk along the lush forests filled with birch, rhododendron and bamboo. We continue our hike enjoying the surrounding views and reach our destination Ghorepani. Enjoy the closest view of magnificent Annapurna South, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Hiunchuli and neighbouring peaks.
Day 5 : Hike Up To Poon Hill (3,210 M) And Trek To Tadapani (2,610 M)

Wake up early and get yourself ready before sunrise. Early in the morning, we hike for an hour to get to Poonhill for stunning sunrise view over the Annapurna massif. Poonhill is a popular vantage point for the closest 360 view of Annapurna range that includes several peaks like Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, Lamjung Himal, Ganesh, Hiunchuli, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, and Tukuche.
From here, we headed back to Ghorepani for breakfast. Then, we continue our trekking to Tadapani. The trek starts with a climb to Deurali walking past the rhododendron forests along the route. From Deurali, you will catch the panoramic views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. The trail makes a steep descent along the lush forests to Tadapani, where we spend a night there.
Day 6 : Trek To Ghandruk (1,940 M)

Another awesome day of hiking. We start with a gentle stroll out of Tadapani, and descend steeply through rhododendron forest. Upon reaching Bhaisi Kharka, we follow the trail, crossing streams and walking past the ridges along the journey towards Ghandruk.
Ghandruk is a beautiful village of Gurung settlement, one of the ethnic groups of Nepal. You will witness diverse natural and cultural beauty of Ghandruk. The unique culture and hospitality of Gurung people as well as the awe inspiring views of Machhapuchhre and Annapurna South is truly breathtaking. In the afternoon, we pay a visit to the Annapurna Conservation Office and museums located there.
Day 7 : Trek To Nayapul (1,010 M) And Drive To Pokhara

The last leg of the journey of our trek in Annapurna region. Today, we hike to Nayapul and then drive to Pokhara. From Ghandruk, the route then turns to face terraced fields and lush forests. The trail follows the Modi Khola, passes by Birethati and run along the stream. Soon we reach Nayapul, from where we drive back to Pokhara. You can spend your evening time strolling around Fewa Lake enjoying a night life around there or you can take a rest at the hotel.
Day 8 : Drive Back To Kathmandu (1,400 M)
Location: Kathmandu

Meals Included: Breakfast, Farewell Dinner
After having early morning breakfast, we drive back to Kathmandu today. In the evening, we will have a farewell dinner with cultural performances in a traditional Nepali restaurant. Enjoy and have a good time with your trekking crews before you go home.
