Day 1 : Day 1: Cusco – Salineras – Pispitayoc (Biking And Rafting)

Location: Maras

Pick up from your hotel at 7:00 am and drive for 1 hour to Cruzpata, where you’ll start mountain biking across the fields of potatoes and wheat, enjoy the breathtaking view on the Andes, visit the Village of Maras, and Explore the Salineras as you go down into the Sacred Valley. Then, you’ll take our transportation for a 2-hour drive to the Village of Santa Maria for lunch.

After enjoying lunch, you’ll have a safety briefing and start the 1.5 hours rafting in the Urubamba River, the rapids are class III and IV, The tour guides for the river rafting are different as we use specialized professional tour guides that are familiar with waters in the region. After Rafting you’ll have a 30-minute hike to the resting place. Dinner and spend the night in a rustic lodge.

Day 2 : Day 2: Pispitayoc – Hotsprings – Santa Teresa

Wake up in the middle of the Peruvian jungle to the beautiful sound of the tropical birds. After breakfast and a cup of fresh homemade coffee, you’ll spend some time exploring the local coffee, Coca leaf, banana, and pineapple plantations. Afterward. start the hiking across a stunning and lost original Inca Trail (different form the Classic Inca trail) that connected Machu Picchu with Vilcabamba (The last Capital of the Incas). Along the way pass avocados, maniocs, oranges, mangos, cacao, coffee, and coca shrubs. After about a 4 hours hike, you’ll arrive at Quellomayu, where lunch is served in a local restaurant. It’s then another 4-hour walk upstream along the Urubamba River to the hot springs of Cocalmayu (pure volcanic water). The water here is believed to be medicinal and is good for your bones and muscles, and relieves stress and headaches. After a relaxing soak in the hot pools, you’ll take a bus to Santa Teresa town. Spend the night in a basic hotel with a hot shower, wifi.

Day 3 : Day 3: Santa Teresa -Llaqtapata – Aguas Calientes

After breakfast in Santa Teresa, get ready for the most beautiful day of your TreXperience! First is a 1-hour drive to Lucmabamba (2,000m/6,600ft), where you’ll join an original Inca trail, built in the 15th century and became lost together with Machu Picchu and rediscovered a few years ago. The Hike takes around 3-hours up to Llaqtapata, another extraordinary Inca site located right in front of Machu Picchu, where you’ll have the first glimpse of Machu Picchu. Explore and enjoy the spectacular views of Machu Picchu and the Andes. It’s then a relatively easy 2 hour downhill trek to the hydroelectric station where you’ll enjoy a well-earned lunch. After lunch, you’ll start the final hike to Aguas Calientes along the train track, this part of the trek is full of history as you’ll visit the Mandor Farms, visited by Hiram Bingham III in the 1911 expedition. Upon arrival to AC around 5.00 pm, your guide will take you to your hotel where you’ll have some time to rest and freshen up. In the evening, enjoy a final dinner together, plan for the next day, and spend the night in the hotel.

Day 4 : Day 4: Machu Picchu (Lost City Of The Incas)

The most important date, wake up very early to prepare for the highlight of your TreXperience. After breakfast in the hotel, take the first buses up to Machu Picchu, arriving at the sky brightens with the first ones. Take an extra hike first to the Sungate or Inca bridge, then, you’ll start exploring the citadel, visiting the most important places, palaces, temples, and you’ll have free time to discover by yourself or climb either Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (Different and not Include in the Machu Picchu citadel ticket). Once you finish with Machu Picchu, you must take the bus down to AC, have lunch (not included), and take the Vistadome train back to Ollantaytambo, from Ollantaytambo our private transportation back to Cusco. Drop off at the door of your hotel around 7:30 pm.

The best guides, top class food

Last month I did the 4-Day Classic Inca Trail and it was perfect in every aspect. Our main guide Juan Carlos was very professional and at the same time very funny. When he was explaining things that most people would not find exciting he had a way of making it sound interesting. He and the other guide were also very supportive during the trek and stayed at the back with those of us who had difficulties with keeping up with the rest of the group. They would even take a load off our shoulders and carry our backpacks when we needed it. We were always very well informed about what to expect on every step of our journey, and thanks to that we could always prepare for what was coming. The most surprising part of the trek was the amazing food that the chefs were preparing for us in these camping conditions. We were given a variety of different dishes to try at every meal and each of these plates had a vegan and vegetarian equivalent, because three of us had different diet preferences. I would have never thought that during camping, I would eat better than in a top class restaurant.
