The trip kicks off in Delhi followed by a train to Amritsar for some quality Sikh time at the Golden Temple and from there progresses in a winding course to Dharamsala, home of the Dalai Lama, then on to Shimla, former summer capital of the British Raj. In this tour you'll soak in several days of Tibetan culture and Himalayan views before circling back to Delhi—slowly—through historic villages and hill stations, before arriving at two of Hinduism’s holiest pilgrimage towns, Haridwar and Rishikesh. Day 1 : Arrive New Delhi

Welcome to the capital of India! Upon arrival at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, you will be met by a representative and will be escorted to your vehicle and transferred to your hotel for the night.
Think of Delhi as two dissimilar cities: Old Delhi, founded in the 17th century, and New Delhi, established in the early 20th century by the British. Old Delhi offers an bizarre vibe with bustling streets and historical monuments spanning several kingdoms and empires, while spread out New Delhi offers international hotels, wide tree-lined avenues, foreign embassies, and shopping centers, etc. You'll get a taste of both during tomorrow's tour!
Day 2 : In New Delhi

After breakfast at your hotel, it's time for a full-day guided tour of Delhi!
Your first stop is the walled city of Old Delhi, a place that's abuzz with local activity and still influenced by the great Mughals who once ruled from the ramparts of the majestic Red Fort. During the visit, you'll see top sights like Jama Masjid, the largest 17th-century mosque in India, Chandni Chowk, the typical Indian market (a treat for the senses),
From here, proceed to New Delhi where you'll drive past the Presidential Palace, the Secretariat Buildings, India Gate, and other colonial buildings. Make sure to look for the early 20th-century work of Edwin Lutyens, a British architect, who is featured prominently in the colonial districts.
Finish the tour with a visit to the famous Qutub Minar, a minaret that forms part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll also see Humayun’s Tomb, a marvelous example of Persian-inspired Mughal architecture. Night stay is in New Delhi.
Day 3 : New Delhi – Amritsar [By Train]

Today you'll be transferred to the rail station to board a morning train to Amritsar,
Here in Amritsar Golden Temple, is a massive complex of white marble and gold, and the most holy site in the Sikh religion. Sikhs from all over the world hope to make a pilgrimage to Amritsar at least once in their lives in order to pay respects to Sri Harmandir Sahib in their Ardas. The Harmandir Sahib was planned by Guru Arjan Dev (Fifth Guru).
On arrival check in at your hotel.
Later, you'll drive to the India-Pakistan border to witness the Attari Border Ceremony, which happens two hours before dusk every day. At the time of independence in 1947, migrants from India entered Pakistan through this border crossing; today, the Attar border is famous for this ceremonial closing of gates.
Return back to Amritsar where you'll have the option to explore local bazaars, including Hall Bazar where there is an extensive variation of woolen garments, like sweaters and shawls, as well as hand-woven carpets and blankets. Night stay is in Amritsar
Day 4 : In Amritsar [ Visit To Golden Temple + Village Experience]

Morning after breakfast you'll visit the amazing Golden Temple, a massive complex of white marble and gold, and the most sacred place in the Sikh religion. Sikhs from all over the world wish to make a pilgrimage to Amritsar at least once in their lives in order to pay respects to Sri Harmandir Sahib in their Ardas. Later we shall explore quiet villages of Punjab. This tour is an exploration of the countryside around Amritsar, Punjab.
There is nothing to disturb the calm unless you count the chirping of birds or the crops swaying in the fields. You can have a cool experience by enjoying fresh food, air and a splendid atmosphere. Rewire with your roots, experience the peacefulness of countryside and farm life, and walk along the straggling acres of carefully nurtured crops. You will see various shops in the village, livestock grazing and feeding, and the drying of cow dung fuel cakes. There will be a tractor ride through the beautiful fields and have a look at various seasonal crops growing. After a ride you'll end up at the home of a local family for a sumptuous meal of local cuisine made from home grown or locally sourced fresh ingredients.
If you want then learn how to cook traditional Punjabi Food with homemade traditional family recipes. Other activities which you can enjoy are as take a ride of farmers tractor across streams, a dip in tube-well tank with water gushing out at full force is quite an invigorating experience. Also take a trip to a dairy farm and Milking cows & buffaloes.

Day 5 : Amritsar – Dharamshala [By Drive]

Drive to Dharamsala in the foothills of the Himalayas for a two-night stay.
Clustered on a wooded ridge in the state of Himachal Pradesh, Dharamsala – or more accurately the township of McLeod Ganj above it – is the home of the Tibetan spiritual leader in exile, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, along with an ever growing, number of Tibetan refugees. Monasteries and temples hold categories of red-and-gold prayer wheels, where round the year Buddhist pilgrims gushes in from the plains.

Day 6 : In Dharamshala

Today visit Dharamshala, surrounded by cedar forests on the edge of the Himalayas.
You'll visit the Norbulingka Institute of Tibetan Culture, a registered trust dedicated to preserving Tibetan literary and artistic culture. This is where you can see thangka painting, statue making, and wood carving taking place in the institute's workshops, which are set in a beautiful courtyard garden that seems far removed from the hustle and bustle of town.
Day 7 : Dharamshala – Toy Train Ride – Andretta - Pragpur

Today leave early morning from the hotel to reach toy train station. It will be a scenic 1 hours and 30 minutes’ drive. On arrival at railway station board your train toy train which offers breath taking views of Himalayan landscape and is a unique experience in itself. On arrival at the end of railway station we shall be taking you to your next destination which is known as Andretta.
Andretta, an unperturbed village famous as a hamlet of artists and craftspeople. Here you will visit the showroom of Sadar Gurcharan Singh, the first studio potter in India followed by a stroll around the village.
From here resume your journey to Pragpur in the Shivalik Hills of Himachal. Later in the afternoon, you'll travel in this amazing village's elegant Havelis, mansions, Italianate buildings, and traditional mud and slate houses situated on cobbled streets. Night stay is in Pragpur Heritage village.
Day 8 : Pragpur – Garli – Shimla [By Drive]

After breakfast in Pragpur, you'll make the first stop in Garli where you'll sightsee a treasure of architecture while wandering through the village. Narrow paths steer to mansions decorated in different styles with elaborate woodwork, gothic windows, gabled roofs, jharokha windows, brick jaali work, huge arches, and imposing doors. These photogenic buildings also come with interesting names such as Santri Wali Kothi, Mystery House, Raeeso Wali Kothi, and Bhagwan Niwas.
Restart your drive to Shimla. On arrival check in at the hotel. Experience an orientation walk on The Ridge and The Mall (local retreats) and discover this summer capital of British India. Evening is free for leisure and rest. Night stay is in Shimla.
Day 9 : Shimla – Chandigarh [By Drive]

Day 10 : Chandigarh – Haridwar [By Drive]

Morning proceed to visit rock garden which will give you a sense of relaxation. Built using urban & industrial waste, Rock Garden has been designed & constructed by Nek Chand, former road inspector in Chandigarh. It is a sculpture garden and has different types of installations present. Also present is an open-air exhibition hall, theatre trove & a miniature maze. You can also find some performances taking place at the theatre.
Later you’ll make the drive to Haridwar where the Ganges crashes on to the plains. You’ll have enough time to explore some of the temples and ghats along the banks of the river. In evening time you can attend the Aarti (evening prayer ceremony) conducted at Hari-ki-Pauri Ghat. The name of this famous ghat exactly means "Feet of the Lord" (a footprint on a stone wall is said to belong to Lord Vishnu). In terms of spiritual importance, Hari-ki-Pauri is considered to be equivalent to Dashashwamedh Ghat where the Aarti takes place in Varanasi. Legend has it that some amrit (nectar) landed there after falling from a pot carried by the celestial bird, Garuda.

Day 11 : Haridwar – Rishikesh [By Drive]

Morning checkout and move to Rishikesh.
Rishikesh has been sacred for hundreds, and probably thousands, of years. It conventionally served as a waystage for sanyasins, sadhus and yogis travelling to and from the holy sites of the Himalayas, and for generations has drawn seekers on spiritual quests, among them the Beatles, who spent time here in 1968. Numerous ashrams overlook the waterfront. When in residence, most of the local gurus and their acolytes join the evening aarthi ceremony, when scores of floating lamp-boats (diyas) are released into the current.

Day 12 : Rishikesh – Full Day Hike – Rishikesh

Today after breakfast you'll set off on a serene full-day hike to the Kunjapuri Devi Temple in Garhwal Himalayas. This will be an incredible experience with sights of the outstanding snow-clad Himalayas as well as the Ganges.
After spending some time at this stunning temple, you'll continue along trail across the forests with more spectacular views. Upon completion, you'll be picked up for the short drive to Rishikesh for your overnight.
