Grading

The walking is graded moderate (3). Daily walks are between 16-31km on well marked trails over diverse terrain – from relatively flat to mountainous. This is a well worn path where route finding will be reasonably straight forward (refer below for further details on self guided adventures). The main areas to concentrate on route finding are arriving and leaving towns and cities. The accent is on keeping a steady pace to take in all of the attractions, with time to stop and take photos. You will need a good level of fitness to participate fully in this adventure.

What You Carry

As the walks are fully supported you only need to carry a daypack with your daily requirements including wet weather gear, good walking boots / shoes, water bottle, lunch supplies, mobile phone and sun protection etc.

Mode of Transport

Travel to Santiago and from Finisterre is included, with a taxi transfer on day 3 to shorten the day's walk to 20km. Luggage transfer is provided, with a supplement for excess baggage.

Accommodation

Camino Finisterre: Santiago to the Atlantic

20 Jul 2022

We loved walking the Camino from Santiago to the Atlantic. It was a perfect addition to our first walk which began in Sarria. The whole experience was fantastic, with fewer pilgrims it felt more like ‘the road less travelled’ and reaching the ocean was so special and gratifying. Most of the accommodation options were basic but always clean and comfortable. Meals were always fresh and well prepared. Highly recommend.

Loved every second of the walk which was a breeze when you knew your luggage & a bed awaited you at the end of each day. The whole thing was seamless & the local agent was very helpful in arranging additional transportation.

Did the full French Camino through UTracks. Everything went like clockwork. The only trap to be aware of is that the trip sections given in the notes do not tally with the places the hotels are, and therefore where your luggage goes. We had dinner included which was often pretty late so may be something to consider leaving out.

Trip was enjoyable and easy to do, but I found the food on the last night inedible.
