Day 1: Fly To Athens
Location: Athens

Fly to Athens, birthplace of democracy and home to some of the most important ancient sites in the western world. Transfer to your hotel in the central Syntagma district and, depending on your time of arrival, the rest of the day is at leisure to absorb the ambience of the city.
Day 2: In Athens

The day begins with a guided walking tour of the Acropolis of Athens. Wonder at the sublime beauty of the Parthenon, the Propylaea, the Erechtheion and the Temple of Athena Nike before visiting the nearby Acropolis Museum, home to exquisite marble statuary and other treasures. Later enjoy a stroll along the pedestrianised Dionysiou Areopagitou Street to the Pnyx, a hill known for its panoramic views over the city including the Acropolis. Round off the day with dinner at a traditional local restaurant with live Rebetiko music.
Day 3: Via Corinth And Epidaurus To Nafplio

Tour Athens by coach and visit the National Archaeological Museum, a breathtaking collection of some of the most important treasures of ancient Greece. Then travel west to see the Corinth Canal, which connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Aegean Sea, and continue to the ancient ruins of Epidaurus. Here explore the archaeological site and its impressive theatre, one of the finest and best preserved in Greece, whose acoustics are still near-perfect today. Finally arrive at Nafplio, one of the most beautiful towns of the Peloponnese.
Day 4: Via Mycenae To Ambeliona
Location: Ampeliona

Begin the day with a guided visit to the impressive fortified city of Mycenae, with its royal tombs and fascinating museum. Next explore the region of Nemea, known for its vineyards, and visit a local producer to learn about the wine making tradition, with a chance to taste the wines. Later drive to the mountain village of Karytaina in Arcadia, where you can learn from a local chef how to make “portokalopita”, a special orange flavoured cake for which this region is known. Stay overnight at the nearby village of Ambeliona, deep in the mountains of Arkadia.
Day 5: Ancient Olympia And Katakolo
Location: Katakolo

Start the day at Bassae, famous for its great Temple of Apollo Epicurius, a UNESCO listed architectural masterpiece. Next visit Ancient Olympia, the place where the Olympic Games began and also recognised as a World Heritage Site. The museum here contains some of the most impressive works of classical Greek art. For a change of scene visit a nearby organic honey farm, a chance to learn the secrets of honey production and taste the products. Finally, head to the nearby seaside town of Katakolo for the night, with a seafood dinner.
Day 6: To Delphi

Begin the day with a visit to one of the oldest wine producers in Greece, Achaia Clauss. Next discover the recently-built Archaeological Museum of Patras with its incomparabale displays, then leave the Peloponnese peninsula and stop for lunch at pretty Nafpaktos. In the afternoon continue along the coast to Galaxidi and inland to Delphi, in the foothills of Mt Parnassus. Dinner at a local restaurant with magnificent mountain and sea views.
Day 7: Delphi To Meteora

This morning enjoy a guided tour of ancient Delphi in its lovely mountain setting, and also visit its remarkable museum. Regarded in ancient times as the cultural and religious centre of the world, your visit today may well become a highlight of your tour. From Delphi drive north to Meteora, one of the most important monastic sites in Greece, where you can admire magnificent views of the rock formations at sunset.
Day 8: In Meteora

Today is dedicated to exploring the precipitously built monasteries of Meteora and discovering the other-worldly beauty of the region. Visit two of the most famous monasteries, with a climb of between 150 to 300 steps to each. The effort is worth it, as sumptuous views open up over the valley floor while surrounding monasteries reveal themselves. Later today, venture into Meteora's forests for a unique truffle hunting experience, rounded off with truffle and wine tastings.
Day 9: Via Thermopylae To Athens
Location: Athens

First visit historic Thermopylae, known for the famous Greek-Persian battle in 480 BC, then stop at Kamena Vourla for a seafood lunch before arriving back in Athens. Later in the afternoon you will have the chance to learn how to dance in the traditional Greek style, with instruction from an excellent and experienced dance teacher. Then enjoy a farewell dinner at the old market of Monastiraki, with magnificent views to the Acropolis and live Greek music.

If, after our confirmation invoice has been issued, you wish to change your travel arrangements in any way, we will endeavour to make these changes, but it may not always be possible. Do you operate a “single share” option and how does it work?
Customers booking to travel solo can choose our ‘Happy to Share’ option, which may enable them to share a twin room with other solo customers of the same gender who also request Happy to Share, thus avoiding the need to pay single room supplements. Note that ‘Happy to Share’ requests can be received when you make your booking with us but will not be confirmed until your final payment due date.

What documents will I receive before I travel?
Your Final Travel Documents are usually sent to you 2-3 weeks prior to your departure. Your travel pack will include your tour itinerary, hotel details, flight e-tickets and a travel guide. If you have booked with a travel agent, your tickets will be dispatched to your travel agent unless we have been otherwise informed.

Will I be travelling with passengers from other countries?
Our passengers generally enjoy the mixture of British, Australian and American clients on tour. Occasionally we are joined by English-speaking passengers from other countries.

We allow children 12 years and over on our group tours. We recommend that families with children of any age take advantage of our private or tailormade tours. This will give you more flexibility while on tour.

How we Keep you safe on our Tours
Your safety and well-being will always be our Number 1 priority which is why we’ve instituted the most stringent COVID health and safety protocols on all of our tours. Here is a brief summary of the steps we are taking to ensure you will be safe, secure and satisfied when you travel with us.
Guides and National Escorts
Our National Escorts and guides will conduct a Health and Safety briefing with you before the tour begins and will help everyone ensure they adhere to social distancing, hygiene practises and local regulations. They will carry a supply of face masks and hand sanitiser for you to use free of charge and will, of course, observe the highest level of personal hygiene at all times.
Should anyone on the group fall ill your National Escort will ensure the individual receives swift medical attention and can only return to the group once cleared to do so.
Transport & Sightseeing
Vehicles will be thoroughly cleaned with disinfectant after each excursion service, overnight and between different groups.
You will always have at least one seat between you and your fellow tourers, hand sanitiser will be given to the group on each embarkation and vehicles will be thoroughly ventilated prior to passengers boarding.
Drivers will always embark vehicles after clients, disembark the group vehicle prior to clients disembarking, and maintain social distancing and a high level of personal hygiene at all times.
Your guides will assess the situation on the ground avoiding large crowds – where possible, alter timings and splitting the group into smaller sizes.
Accommodation
Wendy Wu Tours will only offer hotels that have undergone a detailed hygiene assessment, have specific COVID-19 protocols in place and comply with government standards.
We will ensure these protocols include staff practising social distancing and wearing appropriate PPI, regular cleaning and disinfection of high frequency touch points in all areas and food safety.
Dining
All the restaurants we visit will be researched and inspected regularly to ensure that they follow the strictest health, cleanliness and safety guidelines.
All waiting staff will wear face masks and gloves and we will arrange à la carte dining, waiter-served meals or waiter-assisted buffets throughout the tour. We will not share open-buffet meals with other hotel or restaurant guests.
Hand sanitiser will be provided to the group before and after every food and beverage service.
