Meet the elderly generation in circumambulation, especially in the evenings, at the National Memorial Chorten.
Buddha Point is also known as Kuensel Phodrang, and is a prominent landmark in Thimphu, Bhutan, renowned for its majestic Buddha Dordenma statue. This colossal bronze statue, gilded in gold, stands at an impressive 169 feet (51.5 meters) tall, making it one of the largest Buddha statues globally.
Centenary Farmers’ Market. Most of Thimphu’s population and many valley dwellers converge on the bustling weekend market, held by the side of Wangchu River. A wide range of foodstuffs and local arts and crafts are sold at the market. A visit to the market provides great photo opportunities, as well as the chance to mingle with local people.

Do I need a visa to visit Bhutan?
After you’ve arranged your trip and paid the SDF, the actual processing of a Bhutan visa is little more than a formality. After you’ve made your tour payment and have sent a digital photograph, scan of your passport photo page, and proof of your (mandatory) travel insurance, the agency will email you a copy of your visa authorization after a few days. The visa itself costs US$40 and will likely be bundled with the overall tour price. Visas are not issued by embassies overseas but rather stamped into your passport upon arrival at Paro airport after you present your visa-authorization letter. At land borders, you will meet your guide at the crossing; they will process the visa for you as you wait. After the work and cost of making all the other arrangements, the process of obtaining a visa for Bhutan is quite stress-free.
