Tour Overview

Lemosho Route is considered one of the prettiest routes on Kilimanjaro. You start the trek from the west, climbing within the fertile rainforest until we reach the wildflowers in the heath ecosystem. Approaching from the west, we cross one of the most beautiful areas on Kilimanjaro, the Shira Plateau, before traversing the mountain along the southern circuit.

Day 2 : Lemosho Gate To Big Tree Camp

Location: Big Tree Camp

- Register at the Lemosho Gate (2,100 meters).
- Trek through lush rainforests, spotting colobus monkeys.
- Reach Mti Mkubwa/Big Tree Camp (8,700 feet).

Day 3 : Shira Plateau Exploration - Shira Ii Camp

Location: Shira Camp Two, Shira Camp One

Day 2 of your 7-day trek on the Lemosho Route. The day will begin with a filling breakfast at Mti Mkubwa Camp to fuel you for the journey ahead. After breakfast, we will make our way to Shira I for a hot lunch, where you can take a well-deserved break and enjoy a delicious meal. The hike from Shira I to Shira II will take approximately 3-4 hours and will lead us through breathtaking landscapes and stunning views.

Day 4 : Trekking From Shira Ii - Lava Touwer To Barranco Camp

Location: Baranco Camp

Accommodation: Camp

On the third day of your Kilimanjaro trek via the Lemosho route, you will start with breakfast and then hike to Baranco Camp (3,900m). The trail features a gentle ascent and breathtaking views of moorland plateau and lava ridges beneath Western Breach glaciers.

Stop for lunch at Lava Tower (4,600m) before descending into the Great Barranco valley.

Day 5 : Barranco Camp To Karanga Camp

Location: Karanga Camp

Accommodation: Camp

- Conquer the iconic Barranco Wall.
- Traverse the south-eastern flank of Kibo.
- Arrive at Karanga Camp (13,100 feet).

Day 6 : Karanga Camp To Barafu Camp

Wake up around midnight, layer up, and begin the ascent. Zigzag up the scree slopes, guided by headlamps. Reach Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters) at sunrise—the roof of Africa!
