The tours I booked with One Horizon Africa were truly life changing. What I love most about this organisation is that you are on a grassroots level, making a true impact in someone's life. Moreover, you are able to see the direct impact you are making in their lives. One Horizon's focus is bettering the lives of Africans and I think that is quite apparent. The tours are fantastic. The people you meet are incredible - so welcoming and open. They want to learn as much about you, as you do them. Not to mention, the tour guides - they are equally fantastic. I spent two days with Carol and just loved her. She was punctual, helpful, polite and beyond knowledgeable. I have been able to experience a lot of things in my life, but I have never experienced something quite like this. One Horizon left a significant impact on me, and I am thankful for that. If you have the opportunity to travel to Kenya, you MUST partake in one of One Horizon's Tours; I promise, it will be one of the most profound days of your life.

Booking our tour with One Horizon Africa was very easy. The day of our tour, our guide was on time and waiting in the lobby of our hotel for us. He was an amazing tour guide throughout the whole day. We didn't really know what to expect going into it and it all exceeded our expectations. The knowledge, communication, and background information we were provided about the organisation as well as on our tour with the women was incredible. Any questions we had about One Horizon or Nairobi in general were answered very well with great knowledge. Throughout our drive to/from the village our tour guide made sure to point out various things on the side of the road and the neighbourhoods we'd be passing by/through. Everyone that we interacted with that day always made us feel very welcome and had open arms. We chose One Horizon Africa when booking our village visit as we loved the fact that it was helping women and children in need. This organisation started from the ground up and has really blossomed into an amazing thing. We left with such an amazing experience that no other tour could have provided.

The communication leading up to the tour was fantastic, clear and the hotel pick-up went smoothly. My experience on the tour itself far exceeded what I had expected for the day. I really felt that my tour guide was passionate about the One Horizon brand, the work they do and what it represents (grassroots, community). My tour guide went out of her way to ensure that I had an amazing time, learning about Kenya and the local way of life, and connecting with the local Masai family that we went to visit. The Masai family themselves were an amazing bunch of people, and I was moved to tears, hearing the story of their lives as told by them; the happiness and the challenges they have experienced until date. Highly recommended!

We were lucky enough to participate in a One Horizon experience with "The Grannies" on the first day of our overland safari journey through Kenya and Tanzania. From their enthusiastic musical welcome to the Grannies' sobering stories of their difficult lives and how One Horizon's pig program has helped them keep their families together, it was a lovely and emotional few hours.

Initially I had some issues with communication where my guides went to pick me up from the wrong accommodation however, it was easy to contact the organisation and find out where they were. The service was great, I was given additional help by the guides who were so friendly and was able to speak with them on a personal level and had an insight into their lives as Kenyans as well. The tour was amazing, beyond expectations and hearing the stories of the women I met were mind-blowing, humbling and empowering. My life has been forever changed from this personal and enlightening experience. Thank you One Horizon for your important work and providing this opportunity for us. I hope to one day return to Kenya and be a part of it again with my son.

With time to spare in Nairobi, I looked for a tour that was not the usual tourist thing but instead offered an opportunity to meet a few local people and do support a worthwhile organisation. One Horizon offered exactly that. Booking was simple - confirmation almost instant with clear information on pickup time and place. Carol arrived exactly as planned and drove to/from the farm location for the time spent with the 'grannies' who are supported and learn to farm to support themselves and their grandchildren. The ladies (Beatrice and Eunice) made me feel welcome and shared their stories and chapati making while explaining what the program was about and how it is impacting their lives for the better. The piglet/pigs were fun too. Support an operator who actively works in the community to supply education and earning opportunities for the disadvantaged. When I return I'd definitely participate again - but for more than a day tour.
