Highlights
Itinerary
Day 1
Local departure by coach or Home Connect service, then on to your hotel for a four night stay.
Day 2 Fort Augustus And Loch Ness Cruise
Location: Fort Augustus and Loch Ness Cruise
Enjoy the breathtaking scenery at Commando Memorial on our trip across the Highlands to reach Fort Augustus. Fort Augustus sits at the southern end of mighty Loch Ness, and you can take in the panoramic views from our cruise on the loch. With informative commentary and top-of-the-range sonar equipment, there’s no better way to experience the views, sights, wildlife, history, and legend of Loch Ness.
Day 3 Day At Leisure Or Oban
Location: Day at leisure or Oban
Enjoy a day at leisure to relax and admire the stunning views from the hotel, or why not make your own way into the heart of Fort William? This is the largest town in the Highlands, and with surroundings of beautiful scenery and idyllic walks, it’s no surprise the town is known as the 'Outdoor Capital of the UK'.
Alternatively, join our optional excursion to Oban. Following the Argyll Coastal Route, we reach the seafaring town and enjoy some free time in the 'Gateway to the Isles'. There are plenty of small galleries, independent shops, cosy cafés and inviting pubs to discover. Be sure to sample the catch of the day – Oban is renowned for its fresh seafood, after all!
Day 4 Road To The Isles, Mallaig And Wildlife Cruise
Location: Road to the Isles, Mallaig and Wildlife Cruise
The ‘Road to the Isles’ is considered one of the best drives in Scotland. Travelling from Fort William to Mallaig, this route passes forests, historic sights, shimmering lochs, beaches, and moors topped with purple heather. We take to the waters in Mallaig, with the Isles of Skye, Rhum and Eigg in the distance. These waters are frequently visited by a variety of birds, seals, porpoises, dolphins, whales and basking sharks.
We return to Fort William, making a stop at the Glenfinnan Visitor Centre. Take a stroll to the Glenfinnan Monument on the shores of the loch, or admire the spectacular Glenfinnan Viaduct – an iconic structure famous for its appearance in the Harry Potter films!
