What do you love most about Atacama?

"It was just so different from anything else I have ever seen - arid terrain, unique animals, out-of-this-world landscapes and cool experiences. All you're looking for in a perfect travel destination!"

A 'MUST' whilst you're there?

"Piedras Rojas! It's quite a drive from San Pedro, but worth the struggle! The contrasts between red soil, blue lagoon water and colourful mountains in the background is the best view I've seen in my life."

Must pack items for Atacama

"I would suffer without eyedrops, so make sure to take them even if you're not using them on the daily! With such a dry climate your eyes will need some help with hydration."

Are there any challenges with high-altitude conditions?

"Yes, you will be visiting sights even at about 4300 m altitude, so you need to acclimate near San Pedro for 2 or 3 days first. Pro tip - try local coca tea to reduce symptoms of high-altitude sickness."

A 'MUST' whilst you're there?

"Puerto Varas is an adventure hotspot in the Chilean Lakes District. Watch for wildlife as you go whitewater rafting on the Petrohue river, hike the national park, or check out nearby waterfalls."

What do you love most about Easter Island?

"One of the most remote and unique inhabited locations on the planet, Rapa Nui, as it is called locally, known as the “Navel of the World” has history and mystery combined in perfect unison. "

What do you love most about Easter Island?

"It’s not just all about archaeology… the island, although not known as a beach destination, has a couple of beauties. Where else can you swim with an “ahu” and 7 Moai as a backdrop?"

What do you love most about Easter Island?

"Around 40% of the island is a national park. You can drive from one end to another in less than an hour, but there’s no better way to immerse yourself in all it has to offer than on foot. "

A 'MUST' whilst you're there?

"Ranu Kau, the largest volcanic crater, has a crater lake, and one of the island's only natural bodies of freshwater. It is also home to the Orongo Ceremonial Village, a spectacular viewpoint indeed! "

@maantigo 's Top Tips

"•Call it Rapa Nui and make friends faster! •DO NOT touch the Moai - it’s illegal for visitors to do so and hefty fines apply •Walk the myriad of trails that crisscross the island to know it better"
