Day 1 : Kilimanjaro International Airport To Arusha
Location: Arusha
Accommodation: Hotel
Accommodation Name: Gran Meliá Arusha Hotel/ similar a 5 star hotel
Meals Included: Dinner

Arriving at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by one of our experienced driver guides, ready to greet and escort you to Arusha and your chosen hotel. He will introduce you to this wonderful city and country. Welcome to Arusha and welcome to Tanzania!

Day 2 : Arusha To Ndutu
Location: Ndutu
Accommodation: Lodge, LodgeLodge
Accommodation Name: Lake Masek Tented Lodge / similar a 4 Star
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Drinks

Today, your adventure begins after breakfast at your hotel. We’re driving north and west, introducing you to the wonders of the Tanzanian landscapes as we head for Ndutu in the south-eastern part of the Serengeti. Our drive today is around 280km, five hours of changing scenery before we arrive at our destination. Although Nature and its rainfall determine exactly where the migrating animals will be in winter, Ndutu is a reliable base at this time of the year, allowing us to maximize our opportunities for tracking the animals.

During the journey to Ndutu, you will begin to appreciate the sheer scale of Tanzania’s territory. The raw beauty of the landscapes will reveal itself. Your driver-guide will help you to spot any animals and birds on the way and answer any questions about what you see. Serengeti is of course a UNESCO World Heritage Site, an incredible mix of grasslands, savannah, woods, and mountain scenery, a haven for the wildlife which congregates in this fantastic natural setting. On arrival, we make the most of our time with an afternoon game drive in the Ndutu area. After today’s journey and game-drive, your driver will take you safely to your Mobile Tented Camp for your overnight stay.

Day 3 : Ndutu
Location: Ndutu
Accommodation: Lodge, LodgeLodge
Accommodation Name: Lake Masek Tented Lodge / similar a 4 Star
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Drinks

Having had a taster the previous afternoon, today you have the whole day ahead of you in the Ndutu area, spotting all varieties of wildlife 'on the move’ with your expert driver-guide. Each day is different here, but we focus of course on the Great Migration, that unique natural wonder which involves a cast of breathtaking numbers, literally hundreds of thousands of animals as they make their annual journey across the plains.

Zebra and wildebeest are the most numerous of the migrating animals here, grazing on the short-grass plains of the Southern Serengeti and the northern part of the Ngorongoro Conservation area. But your driver-guide will also be on the lookout for other wildlife, too, using his expertise and ‘eagle-eyes’ to try to find elephant, lions, buffalo, leopard and cheetah – just some of the many, many species you will encounter in this stunning place.

At the end of the afternoon, it’s back to your accommodation for a cool drink, some relaxation, a delicious dinner and the chance to discuss what you’ve seen during the day’s safari… as well as to check your priceless photos.

Day 4 : Ndutu – Central Serengeti National Park
Location: Serengeti National Park
Accommodation: Lodge, LodgeLodgeLodge
Accommodation Name: Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge / similar a 4 Star
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Drinks

Today our journey continues as we head from the edge of the Serengeti into its very heart…but not before we seize a final opportunity for a morning game drive around Ndutu, where we are sure to see something new. But now Serengeti beckons, and so we continue to head north and west into what is surely the world’s greatest park.

At times this unsurpassed place is home to over 1.6 million herbivores and the thousands of predators who stalk them. Their fascinating habits and habitats are sure to provoke questions, so do ask your driver-guide to explain the amazing creatures you see all around you. At night, back at your accommodation, the sights, sounds and smells of Africa will continue to enchant you on this wilderness adventure.

Day 5 : Central Serengeti National Park
Location: Serengeti National Park
Accommodation: Lodge, LodgeLodge
Accommodation Name: Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge / similar a 4 Star
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Drinks

Waking up in the Serengeti is something really special. Sights, sounds and smells of Africa are all around us, and ahead is a full day of adventure in the world’s most famous national park. After breakfast, we start today with the morning section of our game drive in Serengeti National Park, marvelling at the stunning scenery, ever changing light
and always entertaining wildlife, all explained to you by your expert driver-guide.

After our picnic lunch, we set off again, searching for wildlife in this awe-inspiring park. Serengeti’s wonders evolve subtly as the day progresses. The myriad animals and birds are the ‘stars of the show’ and Nature’s dramas can unfold at any time. Of course, the animals don’t work to any schedule, so we may find lion or leopard, elephant and zebra, cheetah and antelope at any time on our drives. At the end of the afternoon, we return to the lodge for dinner and some much needed rest.

Day 6 : Ngorongoro Crater
Location: Ngorongoro
Accommodation: Lodge
Accommodation Name: Kitela Lodge / similar a 4 Star
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Drinks

Once in a lifetime experience!

Our Journey designer Abel was very helpful and efficient with trip planning and accommodation booking. She always replies to our emails promptly! Airport pickup and the transfer was very smooth. Our Tour guide Fred was very friendly and knowledgeable. We learned so much about the wildlife and local culture. Fred made our trip very informative and fun. We were amazed by Fredi's super good eyesight to spot animals with a distance. Fred was very patient to answer all our questions, and let us take as many photos as we want. I think Fredi maximized the game time for us, and he always stopped at a very good spot for photo taking. We love all accommodations Alaitol Safarisuggested. All were very clean with nice decor, food, view, and friendly staff. Both accommodations and food exceeded our expectations. Big thank you to Abel, Fredi, and Alaitol Safari!

Best trip ever, thank you Alaitol (Baraza and Mery)!!

Our 7 days safari was better than we ever could have possibly imagined. My wife, son, and twelve year old son have been fortunate enough to take many wonderful vacations, in many beautiful parts of the world, but this adventure was far and away the best of them all. Part of the reason for this was the beauty of Tanzania. All of our stops: Masai Village, Oldupai Gorge, Ndutu/south Serengeti, central Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and beyond..... wow. The endless parade of wildlife was mind boggling. Yes we saw the Big 5, probably more like the Big 500 if we tallied up all of the different animal species. But the most impressive memories were the scenes that played out in front of us. My family and I will never forget the mother cheetah and her two cubs playing, and then stalking and chasing a Thompson gazelle. (I still don't know how that antelope, seemingly walking to its end moment, was able to sprint away). Or the family of four lions who walked right by our Land Cruiser, one so close that we had to roll up the windows. Or the many other scenes we will never forget from elephant parades to giraffe road blocks to sprinting wildebeests to rarely seen wild dogs to lions lounging in trees to funny baboon troops and so much more. The accommodations are also something we will never forget. Gran Melia Arusha Hotel, The spacious lodge at Lake Ndutu Safari Lodge, Serengeti Serena, and Ngorongoro Serena have to be experienced to be believed. Hearing the night noises of the bush, including lions, hyenas, cape buffalo, and all of the glorious Tanzania night noise is magical. It also bears mentioning that the enthusiastic and friendly service at each of these locations is truly special. More than all of this though, the best part of our trip was Alaitol itself. Alaitol is not just a tour company, it is a travel partner. At each step of the way, from my initial research and all of my endless questions (thanks Mary!!), to preparation in the days leading up to the trip, to confirming our arrival in Nairobi, and meeting our bus in Arusha, to our unforgettable 7 days trip with Baraza our all star incredible guide, Alaitol was responsible for our amazing adventure. They were our partner. From a tour standpoint, I cannot say enough good things about them. And more importantly, I am happy to say that we have made Alaitol friends for life. Mary, Baraza, and others are like family to us now. I look forward to remaining in contact with them for many years into the future. I should also note, that we arrived in Tanzania on March 10, 2020, just as the COVID-19 pandemic really ratcheted up a notch. About halfway through the trip, flights from Europe to the US were being cancelled left and right, and our return itinerary seemed to change on a daily basis. Ultimately, Baraza drove us up to the Kenya border for our flight out of Nairobi (to London and beyond), where--surprise!--we learned that earlier in the day the Kenyan government had closed the border to most foreigners. Baraza took us under his wing though and drove us back down to Arusha where Alaitol had already reserved a hotel for us for that night. Ultimately, after far too much time on the phone with American Airlines, we found a Plan B involving a flight to Ethiopia two days later, then on to London, Miami, and then home. I mention all of this for one reason: Alaitol didn't just drop us off and say ok your problem. Alaitol treated us as their guest, and stood by us as we figured it out together. In fact, Baraza even offered to let us stay with him as long as needed. Fortunately we didn't need to impose on Baraza and his family, but it was a generous gesture that I will never forget. Thank you Baraza. Thank you Mary. And thank you Alaitol. If you are considering an African safari, and are on the fence of where to go, choose Tanzania. And once you choose Tanzania, choose Alaitol Safari. Gordon Raleigh, North Carolina USA

Fantastic 7 day safari trip with Alaitol

20-Mar-2020

We had a fantastic 7 days safari in Tanzania, well organised by Alaitol Safaris. We had the best guide (Baraza) we could hope for, knew a lot about the animals but also a lot about birds! He took the time to let us see the stories behind the animals, not just there's an elephant and up to the next one. Sometimes we stood 2 hours watching a wildebeast giving birth or a lion in a tree to jump out, or how a big male elefant approch a group of females or wildebeasts crossing the water. It was amazing seeing the stories, like we were in a National Geographic movie. We absolutly will return and book with Alaitol again!

Like everyone traveling on a budget, it was quite an experience to visit Ndutu Area, Serengeti, Olduvai Gorge, Ngorongoro Crater, and Masai Boma. To be able to see lions, zebras, leopards, black rhino, and many more incredible animals. Our guide and Godfrey were very informative and answered our hundreds of questions tirelessly, even sometimes answering the same questions over and over again. Our accommodation was a combination of lodges and tents. KatiKati Lodge was superb in all respects! Alaitol Safari got us home safely from Arusha to Zanzibar, Very professional in every way. Thank you for taking such good care of us!
