Tour Overview

Located to the east of Arusha town, about 20 kilometers drive from Arusha; Mount Meru is the second highest mountain in Tanzania. The mountain stands at an altitude of 4566 meters above sea level inside the Arusha National Park. Meru has one route to the top and can be attempted for three days but we highly recommend doing for four days for acclimatization. Most alpines uses Meru for acclimatization before the Kilimanjaro climb. The mountain has less snow formed at the volcano eruption. Unlike Kilimanjaro when you are climbing the Mount Meru you have to be escorted by an armed ranger(s) as you pass through the Arusha National Park. It is at this time when you will enjoy the walking safari as you pass the groups of African buffaloes, Zebras, Black andwhite colobus monkey just little wildlife to mention. The Momela and Ngurdoto Lakes are rich in birdlife as you trek to the mountain; birds like Pelicans and Flamingo are closely seen.

Totally worth it

Back in 2020 I summited Mount Meru with Almighty Kilimanjaro and couldn't fault the trip. Guides extremely knowledgeable and professional, porters and cooks also so. Very friendly staff who would do anything for you. I had an amazing trip. Would not hesitate to recommend Almighty Kilimanjaro. It seems they treat their staff well and we were happy to support a Tanzanian company.

Better than i expected

08-Jul-2021

We just finished climbing Mount Meru with a crew of 4 through Almighty Kilimanjaro and had the most amazing time. Prior the the trip all my questions and requests were met in good time and everything was arranged extremely well. During the trek everyone on the team was so friendly and helpful, which made the experience incredible. I typically travel solo and the guide, John, and the rest of our team made me feel very welcome and supported me endlessly throughout the entire journey to the summit. The food during the trek was amazing, as well as the hospitality from everyone. Not only was the service provided great, but the people working for this company are absolutely wonderful. I am so happy I chose Almighty Kilimanjaro for my Mount Meru trek. Highly Recommended,

Exceeded expectation for our meru climbing

08-Jul-2021

We were a group of ten on 3 days Meru climb Although we were first surprised/wary of how many people they were sending as our support team 21 guides, chefs, porters, for 10 climbers we quickly realized we would not have had the same experience and summit success rate without their help. Rasheedy and his team at Almighty Kilimanjaro exceeded our expectations: always organized, prepared, and caring for our every need. The food was delicious and the accommodation were suitable. I highly recommend Almighty Kilimanjari for a Meru climb, particularly the guide Innocent and his team.

Climbing mt meru

08-Jul-2021

I have recently returned from climbing Mt Meru in Tanzania with Almighty Kilimanjaro. The climb was organized faultlessly by them. Everything went exactly according to plan: they met us at the airport, arranged hotels, provided guides, chef and porters and escorted us up the mountain. Our guides Noel and Colman were professional, knowledgeable and helpful. They were concerned about safety and our well being. I have no hesitation in recommending Almighty Kilimanjaro. I also highly recommend climbing Mt Meru: at lower altitudes we saw buffalo, zebras, antelopes and other wildlife and birds. The scenery is varied and spectacular. The views of nearby Mt Kilimanjaro at dawn on summit day are priceless and can be enjoyed in solitude as there are very few people on this wonderful mountain!

Great

Tanzania’s second highest mountain a bit steeper than we expected but worth the climb. We climbed with guides from Almigthty Kilimanjaro but we were required to hire a ranger to come along our way due to wildlife presence en route
