The temple at Kom Ombo was also built at this time, under Ptolemy VI. Since this bend in the Nile was a favoured spot for crocodiles to bask in the sun and threaten locals, it is natural that the temple would be dedicated to Sobek, the crocodile god. But it is unusual in having a double dedication: it also honors Haroeris, a form of the falcon-headed god Horus. Although badly ruined, no site in Egypt is more impressive than Karnak. It is the largest temple complex ever built by man, and represents the combined achievement of many generations of ancient builders. The Temple of Karnak is actually three main temples, smaller enclosed temples, and several outer temples located about three kilometers north of Luxor, Egypt situated on 100 ha (247 acres) of land. Such an awesome experience! Our tour guide, Mo, made it so fun and memorable! You see a lot in the 9 days but the felucca is definitely the highlight! I highly recommend this tour!

excellent tour

13-Jul-2021

Mo was an excellent tour guide -- friendly, joked around with us, and a very knowledgeable Egyptologist. Meals were good, but on my time after the tour, I found that most food was much cheaper than the restaurants we were taken to. That said, I'm glad that no one got sick. Accommodation was mostly good; I wasn't as big of a fan for the first/last hotel called Oasis Hotel. Their breakfast was not up to par compared to the other accommodations, including the other hotels and the felucca ride itself. The bus was good and the driver was great, but the bathroom did not hold up well in the Egypt heat. Overall, wonderful trip that was great with a few minor things that could be fixed.

excellent tour

Amazing trip

13-Jul-2021

We were fortunate to have Mo as our guide on the “Felucca Odyssey” tour. During our tour, there were so many moments of awe that were only heightened by Mo’s genuine passion and encyclopedic knowledge of the wonders of Egypt. His humor, honesty and professionalism made us feel at home with him and the many others we met on our tour. If you’re unsure of whether this is the tour for you, book it anyway — you won’t regret it!

incredible tour

13-Jul-2021

This was the most incredible tour and it was extra special thanks to our guide Micke. It was a jam packed intinerary- but meant you ticked off all the sights and had a lot of fun. Micke made the trip- he was super knowledgeable, had a great sense of humour and brought our group together. By the end of the tour it felt like we were a family- so it was definitely hard to say goodbye. Highlights were definitely the Felucca and the pyramids. I highly recommend Micke as a tour guide he made it a tour I will never forget ☺️ Egypt is an incredible destination, it is safe and has the most incredible history. I am so glad I ticked it off my bucket list! Thanks ancient egypt tours ☺️

Ancient Egypt Tours is very lucky

13-Jul-2021

Travel talk is very lucky to have a guide like Mohamed on board, his knowledge of Egypt is incredible, with a country like Egypt the history is why I as an Australian wanted to go, and I was not dissapointed I found the tour to be an enjoyable experience, Sam was very friendly and considerate of our large group in the heat but also making sure we got to enjoy the temples and the history behind the monuments and artefacts, I would recommend this tour and Sam as a guide to anyone going to Egypt to travel!

Fantastic way

13-Jul-2021

Fantastic way to see a huge amount of the Ancient Egyptian sites in a short space of time. Unbeatable value for money. Couple of great optional extras (hot air ballooning over Hatshepsut Temple was definitely something I'm glad we did). The restaurants were a little expensive by Egyptian standards, the felucca should definitely be googled before booking as it is a unique experience but very basic! These are minor problems though, overall great trip.

Fantastic way

Great way to tour

13-Jul-2021

Great way to tour the chaotic country that is Egypt. Mo, our guide, was particularly informative but also ensured to take care of us - he was clear on meeting tmes and places, helped us with bartering and even protected against angry shouting locals. Some hate points: the bus is incredibly uncomfortable and not suited for the 10hr bus rides. It's also disappointing the bus doesn't provide snacks or food on these journeys especially since the rest stops used along the way barely have anything good to eat. Another hate point is that the tour doesn't include all costs. I think this was clear to me upfront but it's annoying to come on a tour and have to exchange money with the tour company multiple times during the trip. E.g. optional extras were paid on day two, but not all of them (one had to be paid on day 5). Not all meals are included so thats paid daily. Tips? The tour will take it on day one but the guide on the last day. And teven though it's known when booking you end up forgetting and it becomes a bit of a surprise when they ask for the money. It's just annoying and I'd rather pay a bit more when booking the tour and have peace of mind. Overall great experience though on the tour!

Great way to tour

fantastic time

13-Jul-2021

Had a fantastic time on Felucca Odyssey with Mo. His knowledge and friendly persona made our trip so much more enjoyable - loved hearing about the gods and history of this amazing country. The days sailing on the felucca were blissfully relaxing and made up for the early starts we had to see so many cool temples.
