In the reign of Ramesses III, more than two thirds of the property owned by the temples belonged to Amun, evidenced by the stupendous buildings at Karnak. Although badly ruined, no site in Egypt is more impressive than Karnak. It is the largest temple complex ever built by man, and represents the combined achievement of many generations of ancient builders. The Temple of Karnak is actually three main temples, smaller enclosed temples, and several outer temples located about three kilometers north of Luxor, Egypt situated on 100 ha (247 acres) of land. Karnak is actually the sites modern name. Its ancient name was Ipet-isut, meaning “The Most Select (or Sacred) of Places”.
Then move to Luxor Temple. It was built by Amenhotep III in 18th Dynasty in the New Kingdom and it was completed by Ramesses II during the 19th Dynasty. King Ramses II was the most famous king in the 19th Dynasty. He ruled Egypt for about 67 years. It was dedicated to the great god Amun-Ra, his wife Mut and their son Khonsu together representing the Theban triad. Enjoy visiting Obelisk of Ramses II in front of the 1st Pylon. It was called “Ipet resyt”, which means the Southern Opet or the Place of the Seclusion of Amun-Ra. It was directly connected to the temple of Karnak, the main cult centre of Amun-Ra or Amun -Min, the sky god or the ithyphallic fertility god. The temple of Luxor has, since its inception, always been a sacred site. After Egypt's pagan period, a Christian church and monastery was located here, and after that, a mosque (13th century Mosque of Abu el-Haggag) was built that continues to be used today, Transfer to the Nile Cruise. The most famous tomb is KV62, the Tomb of King Tutankhamun. The discovery of King Tut’s tomb was made by Howard Carter in 1922; Tutankhamun’s tomb was the first royal tomb to be discovered that was still largely intact. You will visit 3 tombs, You will continue to explore then transfer to the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at El Deir El Bahary, Queen Hatshepsut was the first great woman in recorded history: the forerunner of such figures as Cleopatra, Catherine the Great and Elizabeth I.The Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut is the focal point of the Deir El-Bahri complex of mortuary temples and tombs located on the west bank of the Nile, opposite the city of Luxor. Standing on high grounds overlooking the Nile, the Temple of Sobek and Haroeris in Kom Ombo (also known simply as Kom Ombo Temple) dates from about 180 BC during the Ptolemaic era, with additions made into Roman times. The temple at Kom Ombo was also built at this time, under Ptolemy VI. Since this bend in the Nile was a favoured spot for crocodiles to bask in the sun and threaten locals, it is natural that the temple would be dedicated to Sobek, the crocodile god. But it is unusual in having a double dedication: it also honors Haroeris, a form of the falcon-headed god Horus. The hypostyle halls were added under Ptolemy XIII (51-47 BC); the Roman emperor Trajan (53-117 AD) added the forecourt and outer enclosure walls. Dinner will be served on Board.

tour was excellent

12-Aug-2021

I'm genuinely not sure how this tour has so many "excellent" reviews. I guess it all boils down to what type of traveler you are. Overall for me, this tour was okay. If you're in a group then everything should be fine, but depending on the tour guide, I would not recommend this tour for a solo traveler (unless you prefer solo travelling). Originally I wanted to be part of a group tour but nobody else signed up during my scheduled dates so it turned into a private tour. Outside of the optional excursions, you're very limited on what you can do and where you can go on your own. You don't really get to "experience Egypt", you kind of just hop from one thing to another. I personally wanted to walk around the cities and have more interactions with locals, but instead you're driven from site to site with little to no room to do things on your own outside of the hotels/resorts. Not to mention the hotels/resorts were pretty far from city center so you were basically stuck. Also in my opinion, there was just way too much emphasis on ancient Egypt. It was great learning about the ancient history of Egypt, but you don't really get much of a sense of the recent history and modern culture. And because everything is so condensed and rushed, you realistically don't get to absorb much of the information. Some of the itinerary was also poorly planned. For example, on day 9 you begin the day with the Egyptian Museum... literally right after a 5/6 hour overnight bus ride that you took at 2am. I get going to the museum right after the bus ride because it's close to the bus stop, but you honestly won't even be able to enjoy and fully appreciate the experience because of how exhausted you'll be. The food at all the hotels were the same and not that good. I got very tired of the food after day 2 and the breakfast was awful. Again, because you don't get much of an opportunity to walk around and explore the cities, there are little opportunities to try street food and local restaurants. I highly recommend the Nubian dinner and felucca ride - those are basically your only options for a “home cooked” meal. I also strongly encourage Timeless Egypt to invest in more female tour guides. My tour guide was okay, but I would have definitely had a better experience had I been with a female tour guide. I noticed that all the positive reviews for my tour guide come from either men or women on group tours that also include other women, so if you are a solo female traveler, I highly recommend you request Samar as your tour guide or look elsewhere.

12-Aug-2021

Mina Nashaat was the best guide I’ve ever had. I’ve been to 66 countries and I’ve never met an experienced guide who genuinely cares about the customers experience. He was beyond helpful and just an amazing guy. He went above and beyond for us in many ways. I hope to return to Egypt one day now. This trip exceeded my expectations and i highly recommend timeless tours and my guide Mina Nashaat as he was absolutely a 10/10

I loved this tour. Everything about it was great. Our guide Medhat really knew his stuff and he made sure that we had everything we needed. I just wish I was prepared for how cold it would be on the train to Aswan. That night was freezing! Would also be nice if the Cairo hotel was in a more central area so you can do things at night without needing a 45 minute uber ride. I felt like it was a bit far from the city proper. Other than that though, all was good. I'd recommend taking the cruise ship instead of the overnight on a felucca. While the felucca was a fun experience, I feel like I missed a few things compared to the others. (Yes, they did try to warn me lol but I still needed the experience.) We really only sailed on the felucca for two hours before it docked for the night. Then I left in the morning rather than sailing any further up. Some additional sailing in the morning would have been better. Though unlike the others, I did get to swim in the Nile. It was cold that early in the morning!

Amazing trip

30-Mar-2021

I don't even know where to begin. This was by far the MOST amazing tour that I have taken. I felt very very safe traveling with Timeless Tours during Covid-19. Egypt was my 66th County Visited, and because of tour Guide (Mina Nashaat), I had one of the best adventures of my life. I have wanted to visit Egypt since I was a kid. This year I turned 40 and decided I must do it. I began my trip not sure what to expect. They greeted me at the airport, BEFORE CUSTOMS, to guide me through the visa process. We arrived late at night so we were tired. They took us to the hotel and greeted us! I was so excited to learn of all the potential add ons to my trip. I recommend the ad ons for the Felluca Cruise. we upgraded to the 3 night nile cruise and it was totally worth it. IT WAS VERY LUXURIOUS! I recommend definitely seeing ABU SIMBEL. It is worth the DRIVE! I went with all of my Guide Mina Nashaat Recommendations and I am so glad I did. The resort at Hurghada was so amazing too. I had no idea the Red Sea was so beautiful. The food was excellent everywhere, the guide was the best guide ever, and Mina Nashaat Should be requested for any tour you book with this company. He will now be a friend for life. He truly cares about your experience and makes recommendations based on YOUR NEEDS and concerns. The company also makes scheduling your return COVID 19 test flawless. I was worried about that but they made it SO easy and I had my test timely before my flight. I LOVE THIS COMPANY AND I LOVE EGYPT! MINA NASHAAT!

best tour in Egypt,

27-Jul-2021

This was the best tour in Egypt, in my opinion. I have been wanting to go to Egypt since I was 8 and this tour made my dreams come true. Every possible adventure was done through this agency. They met all my needs and more. My tour guide, Medhat Youssef, went above and beyond to make the best experience possible for me. He was my guide, security guard, and friend. He even went out in the middle of the night to get me a luggage bag and candles. He also is very passionate and very flexible. You’re my favorite, Medhat!
