Itinerary
Day 1: Santa Marta, Colombia
Location: Santa Marta
Visit to Playa Cristal in Neguanje Bay
Today you will have to wake up early since your pick-up service is scheduled at 06:30. Once you get to Tayrona National Park, you will enter Neguanje Bay where you will take a boat to Playa Cristal where you will spend the day on the beach. You will be back in Santa Marta at approximately 17:00hrs. Recommendations: clothing and shoes suitable for hiking, repellent, cap, bathing suit.
Day 2: Santa Marta, Colombia

Private tour to Minca (B/L)
Minca is a small town located 20 kilometers from Santa Marta and 600 meters above the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Its ever-changing temperature and the flowing of the Minca river endow it with an exuberant vegetation and make it home to numerous exotic birds, many of them indigenous. From Santa Marta we leave in a 4x4 car to first visit the coffee farm La Victoria, located 900 meters above the sea, and about 1 hour from Santa Marta. The coffee farm La Victoria makes the most of their coffee in Colombia. The German Micky Weber, owner of the farm, managed to make use of machines dating from the year 1892, turning the place into a real living museum. Their ideas led the farm to self-sufficiency - from electricity to crop fertilizer, everything is produced on the farm. On a tour of approx. 2 hours we learn all about the ingenious process of coffee La Victoria 1892, from the production to the cup of coffee. We also have the opportunity to visit a very special draft beer brewery. The Nevada Beer is produced in the old chapel of the Victoria Farm and uses only water from its own springs. The beer’s taste is, undoubtedly, as exquisite and exotic as its history. With some luck, we also meet Jonas, founder and master brewer from Bavaria, Germany. After a good coffee and/or beer, we continue in our 4x4 and stop to visit Don Camaritas, famous for preparing the best sausages and smoked fish of the region in their traditional oven. We continue towards the beautiful Marinka Valley and visit the Waterfall of Arimaka, where we will have time for a refreshing swim surrounded only by nature. Once arriving in Minca, we have a short tour through this small town of art and nature lovers, and then return to Santa Marta.
Day 3: Santa Marta - Lost City Trek, Colombia

Begin your Lost City Trek (B/L/D)
On the first day we will be picking you up at your hotel then we’ll go for an adventurous 2 1/2 hour drive by 4x4 to the small countryside town of Mamey. After having lunch, we’ll set off for a hike taking an estimated 3 hours to reach our first sleeping area. The overall climb on the first day is about 520 meters with regular snack breaks and a hearty meal by candlelight when you reach your destination.
Teyuna is a sacred place for Native people, please remember to respect the past and the customs of the town: Respect the privacy of farmers and Indians, don’t come into their houses or take pictures without asking them first. Take into account that it’s a raining, humid and tempered zone with cold nights between 18° and 22°. Please take just the essential stuff, the weight of your backpack is an important factor for your comfort.Bring all the garbage back to Santa Marta, The Park and the zone don't have garbage recollection service. Take care and respect all you find, don't damage the natural and cultural goods. Inside the park there is no signal for mobile phones, so let know to your family and friends that you will have communication once you get back to Santa Marta. Please follow the guide’s recommendation.
Day 4: Lost City Trek, Colombia

The day begins and we have breakfast early in the morning, then we start to walk by the riverside of Buritaca River where we’ll find plenty of houses which make part of a Kogui indigenous village called Mutanshi. Our trek during the day will take about 7 hours going through the jungle of Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and enjoying the biodiversity to finally reach the third camp (equipped with hammocks, beds and tents) where we´ll have a delicious dinner and rest after an adventurous day.
Day 5: Lost City Trek, Colombia

Early in the morning we have breakfast to start climbing up 1,200 steps to our main destination, a trail constructed by Tayrona people to reach the beautiful Lost City. Once we get there, the guide will show us everything related to this magic place full of relics and ancestral stories. We’ll spend the morning enjoying the landscapes and having enough time to rest and take pictures, finally we’ll have lunch at Camp 3 and then go back to the Camp 2 for dinner and spend the night.
Day 6: Lost City Trek, Colombia

We have breakfast at 06:30 to start walking at 07:00 back to the camp located close to Mutanshi for lunch. We'll then continue through this jungle path to reach Camp 1 where we’ll have dinner and then rest to spend the 4th night of our expedition.
Day 7: Lost City Trek - Santa Marta, Colombia

The last day of this adventure begins with breakfast at Camp 1 to then continue the way back to the point where all it started, during the walk we’ll find rivers and waterfalls to have refreshing breaks. Finally we reach El Mamey, a place where we’ll have lunch and our 4WD car will pick us up to go back to Santa Marta arriving around 17:00hrs. completely delighted by a lifetime experience in the magic Sierra Nevada. You’ll have the rest of the afternoon at your leisure in Santa Marta..
