Experience two days cycling adventure, crossing two times the Carpathians from South to North and from North to South across the most spectacular roads. One night accommodation in Curtea de Arges — former Wallachia capital, one night in Sibiu — former European Cultural Capital in 2006 and one night in Horezu — UNESCO World Heritage city. Trip occurs in summer and early autumn — ~250 km by bike across Transfagarasan and Transalpina — the highest roads in Romania — Professional support, guiding and assistance — Bike rental and transportation — Three night accommodation

Day 1 : Arrival day
Location: Curtea de Arges Monastery, Curtea de Argeș, Curtea Domnească

INDIVIDUAL ARRIVAL in the city of Curtea de Arges (220 km from Bucharest)
Get together in Curtea de Arges, meet your guides and plan the next days.
Optional: transfer from Bucharest.
Overnight in a hotel in Curtea de Arges.

Day 2 : Transfagarasan road
Location: Curtea de Argeș, Bâlea Lake, Vidraru Dam, Cârțișoara
Accommodation: Hotel

You can start from Curtea de Arges or you can be transferred 40 km at the base of the climb, in Poienari village. From Poienari the route will climb for 60 km, up to 2,000m altitude, where you will have lunch.
After lunch, you will have a 35 km descent to Cartisoara village — the end of your tour. Then a car transfer to Sibiu for spending the evening in this beautiful Middle Age city — former European Cultural capital in 2006.
Overnight in Sibiu.

Day 3 : Transalpina road
Location: Pasul Urdele, Sibiu, Săliște, Oașa Dam, Vidra Lake
Accommodation: Hotel

After breakfast — 25 km transfer to Saliste by car — the starting point of Transalpina.
You will ride across Carpathian Mountains once more, from North to South. You will climb from Saliste to Jina village, then a 5 km descent to Dobra village. From here, a long 50 km through woods is waiting for us, reaching 1,750m altitude. After a short 13 km descent to Vidra Lake it is time to have lunch.
After lunch a final climbing to the highest point — 2,075m altitude, then a long 28 km descent to Novaci — this will be the end of your tour. Optional, you can ride 40km more to Horezu — our accommodation place, or you can be transferred by car. Horezu is UNESCO World Heritage Site due its unique pottery workshops. We will accommodate one of the old restored manors in the area. Farewell dinner.

Day 4 : Departure Day
Location: Hurezi Monastery, Horezu
Meals Included: Breakfast
Hotel breakfast, it is time to say goodbye.
Optional, we can have a cultural — historic visit to Hurezi Monastery — another UNESCO World Heritage Site.
