Day 1 : Zion National Park

Leaving the bright lights of Las Vegas behind us for a while we head out to Utah’s finest National Park. Massive canyon walls and red sandstone cliffs ascend toward a brilliant blue sky.

Walk the narrows or take it easy exploring the pristine Emerald pools or enjoy a river hike deep in the narrows before enjoying a BBQ back at camp this evening.

Day 2 : Bryce Canyon National Park

A short drive today takes us to an elevation of 8000 ft into Bryce National Park. Take a stroll along the rim and marvel at the unique sandstone spires (hoodoos) that rise dramatically from the natural amphitheater. Hike down into the hoodoos for an up close and personal experience with this fascinating landscape.

A soak in the outdoor hot tub back at camp will ease those hiking muscles and a night around the campfire will end this day nicely.

Day 3 : Arches National Park

Explore this stunning landscape in a guided sunset hummer tour or hang of a sandstone cliff on one of our optional canyoneering adventures! Visit Arches National Park home to over 2000 arches for a hike up to Delicate Arch.

Day 4 : Canyonlands National Park

Enjoy walks in Canyonlands National Park where the Green River meets the Colorado in some of the most spectacular scenery the southwest has to offer. Swap tales of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid who used the canyons to hide from the law in the late 1800’s, visit the local town and enjoy Utah’s greatest adventure capital.

Day 5 : Monument Valley

Location: Monument Valley

Heading South we wind our way through more of USA Southwest’s spectacular scenery to one of the most iconic locations on the planet. The background for many famous western movies and home to the Navajo Indian tribe.  You are in for a real treat today.

Hop onboard a 4X4 jeep and enjoy an included Navajo guided tour of Monument Valley. Camp right along the rim, get ready to gaze up at the amazing starry skies and bag your front row seat to a magnificent sunrise.

Day 6 : Grand Canyon National Park South Rim

Location: Page,

Enjoy an optional visit to the world’s most famous slot canyon- Antelope Canyon ($50- $60 pp) this morning, followed by a scenic walk to view Horseshoe Bend before heading to the Grand Canyon.

Take a short walk to see the famous Horseshoe Bend.

After a brief visit to a Navajo trading post, we follow the mighty Colorado River through the Painted Desert to one of the seven natural wonders of the world! Take in a bird’s eye view on an optional helicopter ride, stroll along the rim at sunset, take a hike into the one of the deepest and most diverse canyons on earth or simply relax in one of the rim cafés and admire the view.

Day 7 : Grand Canyon To Las Vegas

We get our kicks on Route 66 and arrive back in Sin City in plenty of time to relax poolside before heading for the strip for a night out.

Day 8 : Death Valley National Park

Heading to California this morning you will embark on a guided tour of Death Valley National Park. Enjoy photo stops and shorts walks at Zabriskie Point, Artist’s Palette, Badwater Basin salt flats, Furnace Creek Visitor Center, Devil’s Golf Course and the Mesquite Sand Dunes. After a picnic lunch, drive through spectacular scenery to the old Gold Rush Historic town of Bishop for your night stop.

Day 9 : Tioga Pass* To Yosemite National Park

Crossing the Tioga Pass* this morning provides an extremely scenic route passing by highlights such as Olmsted point, Lake Tenaya, Tuolumne Meadows and Mono Lake en route to Yosemite Valley.

Visit the Valley Visitor Center and exhibits, take a mini tour and get ready for a full day of exploration tomorrow.

* Weather permitting- In the event that the Tioga Pass is closed this tour will reroute through Lake Isabella instead of Bishop.

Day 10 : Yosemite National Park-Full Day

  • Can I come on the tours on my own?

Traveling solo? Since you will be traveling with like-minded individuals who share your passion for adventure travel, you will be sure to have new friends and memories to last a lifetime.

  • How much are the hotels en route?

On our 7-21 day tours where there is an overnight hotel stop our local payment policy for en route hotels enables us to keep the cost of your tour low. It also gives us more flexibility in the hotels we use, allowing us to take advantage of special discounts and incentives. En route hotels where applicable are usually between $80-$90 per person per night and are offered on a same twin share or couple basis. This applies to select tours only.

  • I heard that tipping is custom in the USA, how much should I tip?

It is an American custom to tip guides, waiters, bar staff, taxi driver s etc. and it is expected. Your Bindlestiff Tour Guide will work exceptional hard for you, and we recommended a discretionary tour guide tip of a minimum of $25 per person per day on all of our multi day tours and 15% -20% on day tours.

  • How much should I budget for food?

On our 7-21 day camping tours in order to help you budget for meals, your tour guide will arrange a food kitty. This generally covers breakfast, sandwich lunch and an evening meal on camping days. It does not cover soft drinks, alcohol or meals at local restaurants when groups decide to sample local cuisine. Naturally, it doesn’t cover meals on hotel stops. On our 3 day National Parks Tour we include 1 breakfast (two if camping) they are lite breakfasts, muffin, fruit or cereal with tea or coffee. We do not include evening meals- your tour guide will suggest local economical restaurants, and usually clients opt to eat as a group and enjoy the social aspect of the tour. We do provide sandwich style lunches – (you make your own from our pre-shopped fresh ingredients). This means that lunches are quick and simple and may be taken whilst out enjoying the natural beauty of our National Parks either at a picnic table or out on a trail. On our 2 day tours we do not include meals. Simple meals or picnic style lunches can be taken at economical local restaurants. There are several choices and vegetarians are catered for.

  • How much luggage can I bring?

Please limit your luggage to your sleeping bag (7 day tours), a main piece of luggage weighing no more than 20kg (44 lbs) and one piece of hand luggage. If you have more luggage than this, please arrange to leave it at your hotel or store it locally.

  • What should I pack?

Be prepared for both warm and cold temperatures. Generally speaking, on our summer tours you can enjoy warm days, but nights can sometimes get cooler. It’s a good idea to pack a warm pair of socks, woolly sweater or hooded jacket, hats, gloves, rain jacket, hiking shoes, warm coat and of course your favorite fancy Las Vegas outfit! We recommend 3 season sleeping bag for your Southwest USA summer tour and essential camping items such as a flashlight and a decent battery operated alarm clock. On our Grand Canyon, Zion, Monument Valley and Bryce tours we advise some warm sleep wear. Campgrounds are privately owned and operated and offer very high standards. The campgrounds on our tours have full bathrooms and hot showers (bring your own towel) as well as electricity and charging points for cameras and cells phones etc. Most campgrounds have complimentary wifi. Some of them even have outdoor hot tubs and swimming pools so if you wish to take advantage of these things please bring a bathing suit.

  • I've never camped before, will that be a problem?

Don’t worry! We will take care of pretty much everything-we supply all necessary camping equipment except your sleeping bag. We call it comfort camping or “glamping”. Our spacious two person tents are easy to put up and take down and our experienced tour guides are there to help you every step of the way. If you are a solo traveler, you will be paired with a tent partner of the same gender. Most of the campsites we us are fully equipped with WIFI, laundry, hot showers, some even have outdoor hot tubs and swimming pools. On 7-21 day tours, helping out on the camp kitchen is a fun way to sample cuisine from all over the world -your tour leader will guide you through chores. Shopping for meals, loading and unloading the trailer, and preparing meals will make you part of the team.

My 14 y.o. and I...

07-Apr-2024

My 14 y.o. and I had such a terrific time on this 3-day group tour from Vegas to the Grand Canyon, Zion, and the Navajo Nation. Hogan was a great guide - friendly, approachable, helpful. The absolute highlight of this trip was Antelope Canyon. It was magical beyond words. Then Monument Valley, also within the Navajo (Dine) Nation was incredible. Another highlight was morning at the Watchtower at the Grand Canyon - ours were the first steps in the overnight snow dusting, and the morning was magical. Bindlestiff had set up solid accommodations, great lunches, support of local businesses, suggested good hikes, and arranged for terrific side tours. Hogan's commentary and driving were exemplary. If there is one thing I wish for more on this - more of the complex history.

05-Jan-2024

We had the best time on our Bindlestiff tour around Zion, Bryce, Monument Valley and the Grand Canyon National Parks! Our tour guide, Jonathan, was incredibly knowledgeable and had some wonderful stories to share on the trip! He also showed us which settings to put our phone cameras at to be able to take a picture of the Milky Way! All the campsites were comfortable, with clean bathrooms and charging points. The food provided was also delicious and nutritious. The packed lunches were good for the days when we were out and about at the parks. We would definitely recommend adding the Antelope Canyon NP as the optional extra because it was the highlight of our trip! I thoroughly enjoyed this guided tour and I am already planning another tour with Bindlestiff for later this year!

Did a 3 day trip...

01-Jun-2023

Did a 3 day trip with Indy over the weekend and had a great time. Visited Zion, Bryce, Antelope canyons and Monument Valley by Jeep. Ended the trip with the Grand Canyon. Indy is a very experienced guide and has a ton of local knowledge. He is very organized and keeps the trip moving on time. Every stop is worth the time and the extra's are all worth it. Antelope canyon was our favourite and dinner at the local Navajo house is a nice touch. Indy recommended the helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon and we are so thankful we listened to him. Will definitely tour with this company again. Well done Bindlestiff and a BIG Thank-you to Indy.

07-Nov-2023

Bindlestiff hosted an epic 7 day Mountain Biking tour through the trail towns of Nevada. The guides were attentive, knowledgeable and showed us the best riding in Nevada. Many of the trail networks we explored were only accessible with local knowledge. This is a must do tour for exploring off the beaten track in Nevada. I'll be back!

Everything was AH-MAZING! Our guide, Marie, was fun and engaging and smart! She was born to do this! She gave us helpful insights so that we could make the most of our visits. Bindlestiff was available to answer any questions or concerns I had. Next time I’ll take a longer version that includes more time to hike Narrows and I want to see Arches. Would definitely go back to Bindlestiff.

National Parks Mini Explorer 3...

07-Sep-2023

National Parks Mini Explorer 3 Days I'm so glad that I booked this trip. It's a lot of travel to get to all of the places, but it's a great introduction to them. You spend only a couple of hours in each place, so if you're expecting to explore all day in the park, this isn't the right tour for you. It is, however, enough time to explore a trail or two and get a feel for the beauty and diverse landscapes in each of the park. I did the camping version of this trip, and I'm glad that I did. I've set up a tent only one other time on another trip with Bindlestiff, but the guide helps you out. The tent isn't quite tall enough for me to stand up in, but it was roomy enough since I had a solo tent. I wouldn't enjoy sharing one. On the second night in Monument Valley, we had great weather, so we didn't put out the rain fly. And, it was fantastic looking up through the tent mesh to see the stars and the moon. At Monument Valley, we camped right on the rim, which gave us great views of the sunrise. That alone is worth doing the camping version vs the hotel version. The breakfasts are basic (muffins, bagels, cereal, etc), but that was enough for me. Lunches are sandwiches, which were very good. The two dinners (BBQ on the first night and Navajo Tacos on the second night) were very good also. It isn't 5 star restaurant food, but after a day of hiking and exploring, everything we ate was delicious. Both campsites had bathrooms and showers and were pretty close to the campsite. Our guide, Chloe, did a great job getting us to the places safely and giving us lots of information about the places that we were visiting. You spend a lot of time in the van getting to the different places, but it was a good time to sightsee, take a nap, and visit with the other people on the trip. We had people from 5 different countries on this trip, which I really enjoyed. They stop frequently for bathroom breaks, water refills, and to get snacks, so the time goes pretty quickly. Antelope Canyon costs an additional $100 or so, but it is definitely worth it. We went to the lower part of Antelope Canyon, and it is just stunning. I would definitely recommend this optional activity. None of the people on our trip did the helicopter ride at the Grand Canyon, so I can't speak to how that is. Everything on this trip was well organized and you're just surrounded by beauty everywhere you look. Chloe is a fantastic guide, and I learned so much from her. I saw that there is a winter version of the trip, so that may be my next outing. Bindlestiff is really good at communication to you and answering questions. I will definitely travel with them again.

26-Mar-2024

Our 3 day tour with Bindlestiff Tours called the ‘National Parks Winter Tour’. Only 6 of us in the group. Brilliant tour which gave us plenty of quality time at each of the highlight locations. Our tour guide Joel had great in depth knowledge of each site and Native American culture and the history of this area of the country which we would have totally missed on our own. Logistics, bookings with local guides, bathroom and snack stops were also perfectly timed. We were also very happy with the standard of accommodation which was spacious and very comfortable after a long day. Last but not least the scenery in this part of the country is spectacular.
