Day 1 : Kathmandu Sightseeing

Location: Kathmandu

Accommodation: Lodge, Lodge

You’ll explore the world’s UNESCO heritage sites on the first day including Pashupatinath, Swoyenbunath, and Boudhanath. You’ll also visit the other historical sites.

Day 2 : Drive By Bus To Pokhara

Location: Pokhara

Accommodation: Lodge

To reach Upper Mustang you have to first reach Pokhara, to reach Pokhara you have two options, one is traveling by bus and the other is by flight.

Day 3 : Fly To Jomsom And Trek To Kagbeni

Location: Kagbeni

Accommodation: Lodge

From Pokhara, you’ll fly towards Jomson, the gateway to Upper Mustang along with the views of Tilicho, and Annapurna range. Upon reaching Jomsom you’ll start your trekking towards Kagbeni.

Day 4 : Trek To Chele

Location: Chele

Accommodation: Lodge

Leaving Kagnbeni you’ll be held towards a restricted area, where you have to show a permit. Passing Kali Gandaki river and beautiful landscape you’ll reach Chame after 6 hours of trekk.

Day 5 : Trek To Syanbochen

Location: Syanboche

Accommodation: Lodge

From Chele, you’ll set your food towards Syanbochen, passing through Chungsi cave. During the trek, you’ll pass through beautiful mountain views. You’ll reach Syngboche after 7 hours of trek.

Day 6 : Trek To Ghami

Location: Ghami

Accommodation: Lodge

Passing through Jhaite village and crossing Nyi La Pass and climbing down to Ghyami La Pass you’ll reach Gamni after 5 hours of trek exploring the longest Mani wall.

Day 7 : Trek To Tsarang (Charang)

Location: Tsarang

After Ghami your next destination is Tsarang where you’ll reach after 4 hours of trek. You’ll pass through red cliffs, a suspension bridge upon reaching Tsarang (Charang).

Day 8 : Trek To Lo-Manthang

Location: Lo Manthang

Accommodation: Lodge

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

A beautiful destination, Lo-Manthang is where you’ll reach in eight days. Crossing river, and caves with stunning views of the landscape, you’ll reach Lo Manthang after 4 hours of trek.

Day 9 : Explore In Lo Manthang

Location: Lo Manthang

Accommodation: Lodge

You’ll explore one of the most beautiful destinations in Upper Mustang on this day. A Tibetan border of Corolla, and Chooser cave is where you’ll visit this day.

Day 10 : Trek To Drakmar

Location: Cho La Pass

Accommodation: Lodge

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Passing through Chogo La Pass, Mui La Pass, and Dhi La Pass you’ll reach Drakmar after 5 hours. Upon reaching Drakmar, you’ll pass through a beautiful viewpoint, Ghar Monastery.

Day 11 : Trek To Ghiling

Location: Ghiling

Accommodation: Lodge

After having breakfast on Drakmar you’ll set your foot towards Ghiling, a beautiful village of Upper Mustang. Passing through different landscapes you’ll reach Ghiling after 5 hours of trek.

Day 12 : Trek To Chhuksang

Location: Chhusang

Accommodation: Lodge

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Saying goodbye to Ghiling you’ll move towards Chhuksang. Before reaching Chhuksang you’ll pass through Syangbochen and Chele. After 5 hours of trek, you’ll reach your destination.

Day 13 : Trek To Jomsom

Location: Jomsom

Accommodation: Lodge

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

A returning journey will take you towards Jomson from Chhuksang. To reach Jomsom you’ll have two trekking routes depending upon your choice, Muktinath and Kagbeni. The trek takes 5 hours.

Day 14 : Flight To Pokhara

Location: Pokhara

Accommodation: Lodge

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

You’ll say goodbye to your Upper Mustang trek with lots of memories and fly back to Pokhara. It is just 15 minutes to reach Pokhara from Jomsom.

Day 15 : Back To Kathmandu By Bus

Location: Kathmandu

Accommodation: Lodge

You’ll be back in Kathmandu, if you wish to travel by road it is 7-8 hours and if you choose a flight it is 25 minutes to reach Kathmandu.

We just had the Upper Mustang trek 1 month ago, it was an amazing journey. The people living there were so friendly to me. Even though the locals and I didn’t talk too much due to our language barrier the feeling of connection I had with them is just unforgettable. The ancient history of the place is so interesting and everything I got a chance to experience on this trek will always be in my heart.

What an amazing journey it was, we had 15 days of itinerary, and those 15 days were the best part of our life. It was my first visit to Nepal but not the last one. Will love to explore more.
