Tour Overview
From delicious Bolognese pasta to sumptuous Valpolicella wines, there’s something to delight every sense in this vibrant tour of Northern Italy. While Southern Italy is known for its sun kissed beaches and azure blue coastline, its Northern counterpart is equally as revered for its antiquated architectural cities, and its luscious green and bountiful countryside—particularly in Emilia Romagna—producing gastronomic delights. And whilst these features are recurring throughout the region, there is still endless variety for you to explore on this tour. Destinations such as fair Verona hold a special place in people’s hearts due to being the romantic setting of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, whereas others offer new experiences for visitors to discover. From the gastronomic capital of Bologna—the red-bricked home of spaghetti Bolognese and the world’s oldest university— to mosaic covered Ravenna—the one-time home of renowned Italian poet Dante Aligheri—the balsamic vinegar producers of Modena, to the sumptuous red wines of the undulating vineyards of Valpolicella, there’s something to delight every sense on this Northern Italian adventure.

Between the 13th and 16th Centuries, Estense Family made Ferrara the magnificent place it is today. You won't miss Piazza Erbe, the heart of the city since the ancient Roman time, the fortress of Castelvecchio, now the site of the Modern Art Museum; the Scaliger Bridge, an outstanding example of Medieval architecture; and the Scaliger Arches, tombs built for the lords of Verona. Not far away is the Giardino Giusti, one of the most beautiful Italian gardens of the Renaissance.
In the afternoon, (Optional) you may visit the beautiful Valpolicella wine region with an expert driver-guide. A land of history and flavors where, in addition to its numerous historic villas, wine tradition is the distinguishing factor. This area produces exquisite, world-famous wines using special and unique Italian techniques. The landscape is characterized by fascinating hills covered in vineyards, which over time have replaced the original woods. The first vineyards appeared in Prehistory; this agricultural activity continued to expand under the Romans until well into the Middle Ages, thanks to favorable climate and soil conditions.
Lake Iseo is a real hidden gem, with its romantic charm and the unique natural world on Monte Isola. The atmosphere here is different from any other Italian lake. Nature regulates the time and places, such as the Torbiere Natural Reserve, declared a priority area for biodiversity, the workshops that create nets and wooden boats, the fishermen's trattorias where they cook freshly caught fish.
