Poas, Doka, La Paz (Combo Tour) To get to the different attractions included during this excursion, we will drive by the city of Alajuela passing by the Agriculture Monument, the Monument to Juan Santamaria, and the famous Mango Park. As we ascend towards the Poás Volcano we will notice the change in temperature, and vegetation; we will see coffee plantations as well as fern, flower, and strawberry farms along the way, creating a beautiful landscape. On the way to the volcano we will visit Doka Coffee Estate for a delicious breakfast and a coffee tour, in an actual coffee plantation where we will learn about the ancient techniques used by the experts to produce one of the best coffees in Costa Rica. Learn about the careful process involved on the cultivation, harvesting and roasting of the Golden Bean. After the coffee tour we will continue to Poás Volcano where we will not only admire the impressive main crater with its sulfur fumaroles, but also learn about the different ecosystems in this beautiful national park. Following the visit to the volcano we will continue to La Paz Water Fall Garden for lunch and tour. On arrival to the La Paz, we will walk through a trail, leading to a spectacular waterfall in the middle of the rainforest. Inside the park we will also visit the hummingbird gallery, the Serpentarium, the bird house, the butterfly garden, and the frog’s exhibit.

Early in the morning one of our representatives will be waiting for you at the hotel lobby to take you to the most legendary north Caribbean nature adventure, The Tortuguero Canals. After 1 ½ hour of paddling you will get to this beautiful place in the, middle of the jungle. Leave your hotel in the morning. Admire the biodiversity of an astonishing protected area in Costa Rica as we drive by Braulio Carrillo National Park, a primary forest in 95% of its extension. Have a taste of our delicious Costa Rican breakfast en route. Be our special guest in a banana processing and packaging plant and learn more about one of Costa Rica's prime products (subject to availability). Board a comfortable boat upon arrival to the port and let this extraordinarily exotic paradise enchant you, as you travel along the Tortuguero Canals. Have a one-in-a-lifetime experience in this unique place surrounded by a great variety of flora and fauna of breathtaking beauty. Domestic Flight Tortuguero - San Jose - Drake Bay Mid-morning: one of our representatives will be waiting for you, to take you to the local airstrip, where you will take a domestic flight to the South Pacific coast, we consider this part of the country as truth jewel of nature, a sanctuary of exotic species of mamals, birds and reptiles. Overnight at Deluxe Bungalow – Breakfast – Lunch & Dinner included

Corcovado National Park (INCLUDED) Leave approx. 6:30 a.m. for the 30 minute boat ride to San Pedrillo Ranger Station in the 108,000 acre Corcovado National Park. After checking in at the Ranger Station, the guide will make a selection from several different hiking trails of an area suitable for the group and their hiking ability. A 3-hour hike is accomplished in the morning to enjoy the diversity of the park with eight different habitats. This is one of the wildest and least traveled areas in Costa Rica. Hikers will see rich and varied vegetation. There are approximately 500 species of trees in the park such as: the giant mahogany reaching over 80 feet high, strangler fig trees, and the unusual garlic tree. A great variety of birds are seen - there are over 360 types of birds and the park protects the largest population of scarlet macaws in the country. Commonly seen are: toucans, green parrots, hawks, kites, and a large variety of hummingbirds. During the boat ride, the hikers may see three of the four kinds of monkeys living in Costa Rica. They are Howler monkeys, white-faced monkeys and spider monkeys. Also many types of small mammals are seen such as quatamundies, aguoutis, paca, and sloths. A giant hollow tree is an interesting home to a large number of fruit bats. After a delicious picnic lunch, tourists have a choice of roaming the wild beach areas on their own or take the 30 min. hike to the beautiful San Pedrillo waterfall. One of the highlights of the trip is enjoying a cooling swim in the waterfall pool. Then it will be time to return to the resort for a good cup of hot Costa Rican coffee. Cano Island Tour This tour begins with a 12 mile boat ride to the Caño Island. During the boat ride, guests of Drake Bay often report sightings of various sea life. Also, at any point of the trip you may see the playful dolphins and, at certain times of the year, you may see the majestic hump-back whales along with their babies. At the island, you can snorkel from the boat at the various spots that are filled with fantastic and exuberant sea life. after a little while you will have the opportunity to take a break at the beach at the ranger station. Once you are done with the last immersion you will be whisked away to the lush and gorgeous San Josecito Beach that regularly visited by capuchin monkeys, coatimundi and the multicolored and lively scarlet macaws. There you can sit back, relax and reward your body with a delicious and healthy pic-nic lunch. Be sure to bring a swimsuit, hat, water bottle, some sunscreen, and hiking shoes. The guided tour leaves the resort at 7:30 in the morning and returns to the hotel by 2:30 p.m. Note: According to the Park System, The archaeological trails at the Island are currently closed to the public.

Domestic flight Drake Bay - San Jose After lunch, one of our representatives will be waiting for you at the lobby of the hotel to take youto the local airstrip and take your flight to San Jose.
