Altai Tavan Bogd National Park is one of the most beautiful places in Mongolia. The NP is famous for its snow-capped mountains which include the highest peak in Mongolia Mt.Khuiten. Also, one of the largest glaciers in Central Asia the Potanin. During the trip, we will hike to the Base camp where you can enjoy the stunning view of the Altai Mountains. Altai Tavan Bogd means "saint five peaks' of Altai". The tour includes climbing to Malchin peak, which is famous for breathtaking views of both countries Russian and Mongolian territory. We will camp by the Khoton lake where you can enjoy crystal clear mountain lake. We won't only to seeing nature on this trip, but also visit nomadic families and experience their way of living. Stay at nomadic eagle hunter's summer place and explore the world's most ancient hunting tradition with specially trained golden eagles. During the tour, you will be guided by the experienced local support team English-speaking tour guide and driver. Also, the expedition cook will join our team as well. Day 1 : Arrive in Bayan-Olgii Province.

Welcome to western Mongolia the land of the gorgeous Altai Mountains and nomadic eagle hunters. Our trip will be started and end in Olgii. The tour price doesn’t include domestic flight tickets. But if you prefer we are happy to arrange it and take care in advance for you. Also, if you need transportation needs in Ulaanbaatar please just let us know. OK, so when you land in Bayan-Olgii you will be welcomed by your local support team consisting English-speaking tour guide, driver, and expedition cook. All camping and cooking equipment are already packed, and we are ready for our adventures to the Altai Mountains. Today, we will drive around six hours and arrive at the south entrance of NP. The valley is famous for the white-colored river, and the name literally means “White-river valley”. Set our camping and make ourselves comfortable. Enjoy delicious meal from our chef cook.
Day 2 : Trek to Base Camp
Location: Altai Tavan Bogd National Park

Today, we will trek to the base camp. Please get ready for the 6 hours trekking and take only necessary things like a waterproof jacket, sunblock, hat, and good hiking boots. The launch will be served at halfway via launch boxes. We have enough freshwater during the trip, so you can take as much as you prefer. The trail is mainly going up in some parts there might be mud. At the base camp, you have an opportunity to enjoy a panoramic view of the Altai Mountains. It includes the highest peak in Mongolia and one of the largest glaciers in Central Asia. Enjoy your trekking and surrounding Altai Mountains.
Day 3 : Climb to Malchin Peak
Location: Altai Tavan Bogd National Park

Altai Tavan Bogd means “Saint five peaks of Altai” and Malchin is one of the peaks. It is located right middle of Russia and Mongolia. So, you can enjoy both countries' territory at the same time. Also, it is OK to climb up without any special equipment but only good hiking boots. For the climbing, it is important the weather condition. But, no worry in that case there is an alternative activity. Explore the Potanin glacier. It is a 20 km long and 5 km wide glacier with a stunning view. Like many glaciers in the world, it is getting smaller year by year. Today’s total trekking takes around 6 hours. Go back to camp.
Day 4 : White-river valley
Location: Altai Tavan Bogd National Park

Go back to the White-river valley. During our trekking, all baggage will be transported by our camels and local camel herders will support us. Today we will take a different trail than we came. It is a bit longer but with stunning views. The reason for the white river is it takes starts from the glacier and the minerals make the colour so white. It is not drinkable due to mid-August. For the evening we suggest you visit a nomadic Tuvan family. They have their own language and belief in Shamanism. You can try some milky products like cheese, and dried aruul. And if you are brave enough you can try some hand-made vodka. Experience their traditions and feel free to filming and photo-shooting.
Day 5 : Drive to the Khoton lake
Location: Altai Tavan Bogd National Park

Today we will drive the southern part of the National park. There are twin lakes Khoton & Khurgan with a beautiful landscape. We will drive and camp by Khoton lake. The place which we camp is also well known Biluu Hill. You can climb up to the hill and enjoy a panoramic view of the surroundings. Also, there is an ancient petroglyph that belongs to the Bronze Age. The water of the lake is very clear and warm if you feel fresh up. The guide will try some fish if we got lucky you can enjoy the local fish for dinner.
Day 6 : Visit Nomadic eagle hunter’s family
Location: Altai Tavan Bogd National Park
Accommodation: Homestay
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Today we will drive less than an hour and arrive at eagle hunter’s summer place where you can experience their ancient traditions. Afternoon we will take you to the three hours hiking in gorgeous Waterfall valley. This peace of the land is very famous for the locals. There are two similar waterfalls with stunning backgrounds. Enjoy your hiking. For the evening you will taste a Kazakh traditional meal “Bes Barmak” hope you like the meat. Stay overnight in traditional yurt.
Day 7 : Drive back to Olgii.
Location: Ulgii, Altai Tavan Bogd National Park
Accommodation: Hotel
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Say goodbye to the family and drive further to Olgii. It takes another six hours drive. You will be transferred to your hotel. Take your time. For the evening enjoy farewell dinner with the team.
Day 8 : Fly back to Ulaanbaatar
