Despite a minor permit mix-up causing a one-day delay, encountering these majestic creatures after just 15 minutes of walking was awe-inspiring. Our extra day allowed us to explore the scenic Lake Bunyonyi, enjoying canoeing and hilltop hikes. Accommodations provided by Exodus Safaris were comfortable, and the local cuisine, especially the buffet at Mbarara, was delicious. We recommend bringing personal insecticide-treated nets and repellents due to some torn mosquito nets at the lodges, alongside considering malaria prophylaxis.
