Day 1 : Jackson Hole
Location: Jackson

Welcome to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, gateway to spectacular Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks. This mountain resort is popular in the summer with walkers and thrill seekers making the most of its proximity to the national parks, while the colder months brings skiers and winter sports enthusiasts

If you choose to spend extra days in Jackson Hole before the tour, we recommend an optional aerial tram ride to the top of Rendezvous Mountain for 360-degree views of the Snake River Valley and Grand Teton National Park, or you could spend time in the town itself, which maintains an authentic Wild West feel. Your welcome briefing will usually take place in the morning of Day 2.

Day 2 : Grand Teton National Park
Location: Grand Teton National Park

Famed for its iconic soaring peaks, the 40mi (64km) Teton Range explodes out of the ground with jagged fang-like mountains. Rocky spires, lakes and forests fill the park, with more than 10 pinnacles reaching more than 12,000ft (6,660m). Inhabitants of the area include bison, elk, black and grizzly bears, bighorn sheep, moose and mule deer, all of which have been seen on this trip.

There are many self-guided hikes to choose from today, walking through dramatic scenery and appreciating the geology and nature of the area. Your leader will explain the different options. One popular choice is to hike around Jenny Lake and into Cascade Canyon, then up to Inspiration Point for scintillating views. You can then choose to return on the ferry across Jenny Lake (not included) or hike along the same route to return. It is commonplace to see moose and bears while hiking this trail.

Accommodation: Super 8 Jackson (or similar)

Day 3 : Yellowstone National Park
Location: Yellowstone National Park

We spend another morning on the trails of Grand Teton National Park before heading north. It’s a beautiful drive to the first and most revered national park in America, Yellowstone – our home for the next four nights. Part of the highway clings to the side of the 15mi (24km) long Jackson Lake, where the scenery changes from striking jagged peaks to colourful, open meadows and rolling terrain, the regular lava flows having flattened the largest geological features in the south of the park. This afternoon, take a walk amid this fascinating volcanic environment.

Accommodation: Super 8 Gardiner or Travelodge Gardiner (or similar)

Day 4 : Yellowstone National Park
Location: Yellowstone National Park
Meals Included: breakfast

Yellowstone overflows with geothermal features: geysers, bubbling mud pools, multi-coloured hot springs and fumaroles. The park is famous for its volcanic history and there are estimated to be around 10,000 thermal features – nowhere else on earth (not even Iceland or New Zealand) can boast this concentration of geysers, which are scattered among several distinct geyser basins. We spend half a day with a local geology guide to explore the many effects of volcanism and enjoy walks around some of the most interesting park features. The brightly coloured springs, caused by the hot, nutrient-rich waters full of different species of coloured bacteria, are a photographic highlight.

Accommodation: Super 8 Gardiner or Travelodge Gardiner (or similar)

Day 5 : Yellowstone National Park
Location: Yellowstone National Park
Meals Included: breakfast

When Yellowstone National Park was established in 1872, northern Rocky mountain wolves (a subspecies of the grey wolf) were native to the area. In the years after, predator control saw the decline of this remarkable species but following a reintroduction programme there are now thought to be more than 1,000 wolves in the Greater Yellowstone area.

Today, we spend a full day with a specialist wolf and wildlife-tracking guide, venturing into the park wilderness on foot and by vehicle to learn about these extraordinary animals. Our guide explains how wolves live and hunt together in Yellowstone and how the pack hierarchy works. It’s important to note that we may not always be lucky enough to see wolves; however, this is our goal and at the same time you’re likely to see numerous other wildlife species as we explore.

Accommodation: Super 8 Gardiner or Travelodge Gardiner (or similar)

Day 6 : Yellowstone National Park
Location: Yellowstone National Park
Meals Included: breakfast

Take your new-found knowledge of Yellowstone’s wildlife and geology on a wilderness daywalk in the park, leaving some of the well-known geysers and crowds to explore the wilds together. The route depends on the group’s general ability and fitness; however, it’s likely to involve a walk to view the Upper and Lower Yellowstone Falls. You’ll also visit Mammoth Hot Springs, which have an otherworldly feel.

Accommodation: Super 8 Gardiner or Travelodge Gardiner (or similar)

Day 7 : Glacier National Park
Location: Glacier National Park
Meals Included: breakfast

Today’s drive reveals the wide-open Big Sky scenery for which Montana is so famous. Journey through the ever-changing landscape of forest and mountain backdrops, all the way to Glacier National Park. While this is essentially a long driving day to ensure we have two full days in Glacier for hiking and exploration, it is a great way to experience the different faces of Montana as you cruise through the countryside.

Accommodation: Mountain Pine Motel (or similar)

Day 8 : Glacier National Park
Location: Glacier National Park

You are in for a treat with a full day hiking in Glacier National Park. The park puts on a shuttle bus so we can make the most of the trails and hopefully spot wildlife. Commonly sighted in Glacier are bears, moose, elk and deer. There are some truly beautiful trails above the treeline, with the chance to see wildflowers common to the area. Highly recommended is the Hidden Lake Trail, a moderate 5mi (8km) route near East Glacier Park, Montana, which features a lake.

Please note: The National Park Service regulates guided hikes in Glacier and your tour leader is not permitted to walk with you on trails. They will, however, provide detailed briefings, directions, maps and transportation.

Accommodation: Mountain Pine Motel (or similar)

Day 9 : Glacier National Park
Location: Glacier National Park

Spend the day exploring the heart of the park along the Going-to-the-Sun Road. We stop en route for regular walks and our tour leader helps us spot some of the huge variety of animal species for which this park is renowned, including grizzly bears, wolverines and lynx. Bighorn sheep, mountain goats, coyotes and wolves are also commonly sighted. If conditions are right, we can visit Iceberg Lake for more striking mountain scenes and wildflowers.

Accommodation: Mountain Pine Motel (or similar)

Day 10 : End At Glacier National Park
Location: Glacier National Park

The trip ends this morning at our accommodation in Glacier. You may choose to join the transfer to Great Falls International Airport or extend your trip in Glacier – speak to your sales representative for more information.

Very helpful and prompt service

Very helpful and prompt service. I called to check for an already booked trip and once we sorted this, the agent was ready to help me with another booking as well. He actually waited for me to book my flight tickets, answered all my questions, informed me of all my options. Exodus is a tour company I am using regularly due to the quality of their trips, ease of booking and helpfulness of their customer service team

Stunning walking. Walking the Amalfi Coast

This trip takes you through the most beautiful parts of the Mediterranean walking with a guide and also discovering the wonders of Pompeii and Vesuvius. The hotel had a nice feel as family run, spotless and comfortable rooms, we were well looked after for breakfasts and dinner each day, and the barmen fixed some mean cocktails for us.!

It's amazing what you can do in a week! Cycling the Dalmatian Coast.

This holiday was extremely enjoyable. The itinerary is well planned and the route takes you to a variety of destinations. Not having been to Croatia before I didn't know there were so many beautiful small islands and I loved the ferry and catarmaran rides. The coastal route we took was dramatic and the World Heritage sites in Split and Dubrovnik very interesting and worth visiting. The Adriatic Sea was warm, blue and inviting, good for swimming even in October. The hotels we stayed in varied in size from medium to large. I particularly liked the one just outside Dubrovnik as I had a sea view. Tourists were plentiful in Split and Dubrovnik but in the other places we stayed there was an end of season feel and it was quiet on the roads and in the resorts. The food was good and our guide was always able to recommend a nice restaurant for our evening meal. The weather in October was good for cycling - not hot, partly cloudy most days and one day it rained!

Fabulous company and trip

We went overland from Cape Town to Zimbabwe through Botswana and Namibia. What a fantastic trip. Our first time with Exodus although we have travelled extensively around the world. We would highly recommend this company for such a brilliant trip - we got everything and more all at a good price. Thanks to everyone involved. We are looking at our next trip!

I went cycling in Albania with exodus as my first holiday with them. Such a well organised and wonderful experience where I met multiple fellow travellers who have been advocates of them for many years. You can't argue with happy repeat customers and I'm planning my next adventure with them soon

I'v just come back from...

I'v just come back from an amazing Wildlife & Wilderness trip in Botswana and I highly recommend Exodus Travels. Our guide Brian, was extremely knowledgeable on both the wildlife and history of Botswana and neighbouring countries. The other three staff, Abbis, Chief & Mr T, who accompanied us through out our 2 week trip, put in the hard work and made sure our camp was always prepared and that we we're well fed and looked after. The tour took us to some beautiful places and we saw some amazing wildlife, and on several occasions this was due to Brian's knowledge of the area and wildlife behaviour. Exodus have been very quick to respond to any queries I had, and the whole experience ran smoothly. I was also pleased to hear that during lockdown they provided staff with food packages 👍. I'd normally go on self organised trips, however, with this trip, the tour and guide Brian took us to places not possible otherwise and showed us things that we would'v missed out on. All of which were the highlights of the tour.

After 14 roup adventure holidays with Exofus we would not hesitate to recommend them as an excitingholiday company. They take you off the beaten track but offer great support and expertise :)

I've done 8 trips in...

I've done 8 trips in the last 14 years with Exodus, and have been rewarded with a 10% discount on all future bookings. I feel very confident that I'll receive pleasant, efficient service, and have the unusual holiday experience that I'm looking for each time. I've trekked to the top of snow-capped peaks, wild-camped in the desert, seen amazing spectacles of nature, visited 4 capital cities in a week, and learned about local culture and experienced local hospitality in a way that I simply wouldn't on a conventional holiday. The quality of the accommodation and guides can vary, but this is mainly down to cultural differences and things that Exodus can't control. I've only ever complained once, my complaint was taken seriously, and I was sent a discount voucher - you can't say fairer than that. I remain a loyal customer.

Food came quickly. Staff very friendly and polite . However the chef or person preparing the food did not seem to read the menu! If it says a meal should come with vegetables, you should not have to ask for them. They served shepherds pie with garlic bread! The munchies ice cream sundae said it should come in a glass with a flake but came in a little bowl with just a few munchies! When asking the staff were happy to replace and correct but customer should get what they order and what menu says first time round!!

If you like to be...

If you like to be mistreated Exodus is perfect for you. If you enjoy terrible choices for hotels and pseudo restaurants Exodus is perfect for you. Careless about their clients and loveless about their propositions. Exodus has been a dissatisfaction and disappointment about every dealing i and my group have had with him. Especially a man called Simone who just cares about the money he can get from you couldn’t care less about service.
