Itinerary

Days 1-2 - To Berlin

We meet at our Departure Office in London St Pancras, before
embarking on an extraordinary journey across almost half the globe
by train. We depart by Eurostar for Brussels, where we join
Europe's high-speed network, travelling in First Class via Cologne
to Berlin for a 2-night stay.

On Day 2 we enjoy a fascinating 'east meets
west' tour of the German capital, admiring impressive Imperial
buildings and learning about the sights of this once divided
city.

Days 3-4 - To Warsaw

Today we continue our journey east, travelling across the Polish
border to the impressive city of Warsaw, where we spend the
night.

On Day 4 we enjoy a guided tour, strolling
around Warsaw's quaint Old Town and exploring the atmospheric
streets lined with merchants' houses, craft shops, and cafés. This
evening, we board the overnight sleeper train to Moscow, travelling
in the best class available.

Days 5-6 - Moscow

After a journey across Poland into Russia, we arrive in Moscow
late this morning. On leaving the train, we transfer to the 5-Star
Four Seasons Hotel, where we dine later this evening. If you select
our fly option of this tour, today is the day you will join the
rest of your group.

We spend Day 6 in Moscow, heading out to
discover some of its most famous sights including Red Square, the
Kremlin, Lenin's mausoleum, and St Basil's Cathedral. We also have
a private tour of the Tsar's Armoury. This afternoon, we join the
Golden Eagle Trans- Siberian Express for our fabulous 12-night
adventure to Vladivostok.

Day 7 - Kazan

Our first stop on our Trans-Siberian adventure is Kazan, the
capital of Tatarstan on the River Volga. The city is renowned for
its ornate buildings, including the colourful onion-domed
cathedral, the inspiring Kul Sharif Mosque, and the classical style
buildings of the university.

Days 8-9 - Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk

Today we cross the Europe-Asia divide, arriving in Yekaterinburg
which was founded in 1723 by Peter the Great. Here we visit the
site where the Romanov family, headed by Tsar Nicholas II, was
murdered in 1918, now marked by a church dedicated to their
memory.

On Day 9 we alight in Novosibirsk, the capital
of Siberia, for a guided tour of the city and its attractions.

Days 10-11 - To Irkutsk

We spend Day 10 on board, enjoying the passing
scenery as we travel through the Sayan Mountains.

On Day 11 we arrive in Irkutsk, founded by
Cossacks, and affectionately known as 'the Paris of Siberia'. Much
of the city's cultural heritage came from the Decembrist exiles,
and today many of their wooden houses have survived. During a
sightseeing tour we take in this fascinating wood-carved
architecture, visiting the Decembrist House Museum for a private
concert and Champagne reception.

Day 12 - Lake Baikal

Today we experience one of the true highlights of our journey
through Siberia. The Golden Eagle Trans-Siberian Express will be
steam-hauled, as we skirt the shores of vast Lake Baikal, the
largest freshwater lake in the world. We continue to visit the
small village of Listvyanka, nestled at the foot of the surrounding
hills. We stop off tonight for a lakeside barbecue dinner, which
includes traditionally smoked fish.

Days 13-15 - Ulan Ude and Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

Today we arrive in Ulan Ude, the capital of the Buryat Republic.
Here we visit the Old Believer's Village, where we are treated to a
traditional meal and enjoy a concert featuring local musicians and
dancers.

Ulaanbaatar is our destination on Day 14, the
capital of Mongolia. Passing the Genghis Khan monument, we take a
guided tour before lunch. Afterwards, we visit the National Museum
before sitting down to dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 15 is spent on board as we continue east
through this vast and varied country.

Days 16-17 - Remote Siberia

The train follows the Shilka and Amur Rivers close to the
Chinese border today. Our route takes us across an area of
permafrost, as remote as it is dramatic.

During Day 17 we reach the most easterly point
of our journey and as we head towards the Pacific coast, we enjoy a
farewell dinner on board.

Days 18-19 - Vladivostok and home

After travelling across 11 time zones and over 8,000 miles, our
epic journey concludes today, as the Trans-Siberian Express arrives
in Vladivostok. We take a tour of the city before transferring to
the Lotte Hotel for one night.

On Day 19 we transfer to the airport for our
return flight via Moscow to London.
