Highlights
Itinerary
Day 9 : Rapid Annapurna Base Camp Trek
Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu Airport
Upon arrival at Kathmandu Airport, you'll be greeted by the bustling atmosphere of Nepal's capital city. The airport is relatively small, so navigating through customs and immigration shouldn't take too long. Once you've cleared these procedures, you'll step out into the vibrant chaos of Kathmandu. You might see a throng of taxi drivers offering their services or local vendors selling their wares. Depending on your preferences and schedule, you could head straight to your accommodation or take some time to explore nearby attractions like the historic Durbar Square or the bustling Thamel district.
Day 02: Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara, then drive to Jhinu Danda and trek to Chhomrong (2040m) (B/L/D) 5-6 hours
Early in the morning, you'll head to the domestic terminal of Kathmandu Airport for your flight to Pokhara. The flight offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas, including peaks like Langtang, Manaslu, and, weather permitting, even glimpses of Mount Everest. Upon arrival in Pokhara, you'll meet your guide and driver for the journey to Jhinu Danda. The drive takes you through picturesque landscapes, passing terraced fields, quaint villages, and lush forests. Jhinu Danda is a small settlement perched on a hillside, offering stunning views of the surrounding valleys and rivers. After a brief rest, you'll begin your trek to Chhomrong. The trail winds through rhododendron forests and terraced fields, with occasional encounters with local villagers and their livestock. Chhomrong is a charming Gurung village nestled in the foothills of the Annapurna range, where you'll spend the night in a teahouse or guesthouse.
Day 03: Trek from Chhomrong to Himalaya (2920m) (B/L/D) 6-7 hours
Today's trek takes you deeper into the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary. After a hearty breakfast in Chhomrong, you'll set off on the trail towards Himalaya. The route follows the Modi Khola (river) upstream, passing through lush forests of oak, bamboo, and rhododendron. You'll traverse several suspension bridges and stone staircases, gaining elevation gradually. Along the way, you'll be treated to stunning views of waterfalls cascading down the cliffs and the snow-capped peaks in the distance. Himalaya is a serene stopover point situated at an altitude of 2920m, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Upon reaching Himalaya, you'll settle into your accommodation for the night and enjoy a well-deserved rest.
Day 04: Trek from Himalaya to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) (4170m) (B/L/D) 7-8 hours
Today marks the climax of your trek as you make your way to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC). After an early breakfast, you'll hit the trail, ascending steadily towards higher elevations. The landscape gradually transitions from lush forests to alpine meadows and eventually rocky terrain as you approach ABC. Along the way, you'll pass through Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC), a popular resting point with stunning views of the iconic Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) peak. As you continue your ascent, the air becomes thinner, and the temperature drops, but the anticipation of reaching ABC keeps you motivated. Finally, after several hours of trekking, you'll arrive at Annapurna Base Camp, surrounded by towering peaks like Annapurna I, Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli. The sense of accomplishment and the breathtaking views make it all worthwhile. You'll spend the night at ABC, soaking in the beauty of the Himalayan amphitheater under the starry sky.
Day 05: Trek from Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo (2310m) (B/L/D) 6-7 hours
After witnessing the sunrise over the Annapurna range from ABC, you'll begin your descent back down the valley. The journey retraces your steps along the same trail, offering different perspectives of the landscape. Descending can be physically demanding on the knees and joints, so it's essential to take your time and pace yourself accordingly. Along the way, you'll have plenty of opportunities to capture memorable photographs and reflect on your adventure. Bamboo, situated at an altitude of 2310m, is your destination for the day. The village gets its name from the dense bamboo forests that surround it, providing a serene atmosphere for rest and relaxation. You'll spend the night in Bamboo, reminiscing about the highlights of your trek and enjoying the camaraderie of your fellow trekkers.
Day 06: Trek from Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (Hot Spring) (B/L/D) 5-6 hours
Today's trek takes you back to Jhinu Danda, where you'll have the chance to indulge in a well-deserved soak in the natural hot springs. The trail winds its way through lush forests and terraced fields, offering occasional glimpses of the Modi Khola below. As you approach Jhinu Danda, the sound of rushing water grows louder, indicating your proximity to the hot springs. The natural thermal pools are nestled along the banks of the river, providing a perfect opportunity to soothe your muscles and relax amidst the tranquil surroundings. After a refreshing dip in the hot springs, you'll settle into your accommodation in Jhinu Danda for the night, enjoying a sense of rejuvenation after days of trekking.
Day 07: Trek from Jhinu Danda to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara (B/L) 5-6 hours
Today marks the final leg of your trekking adventure as you make your way back to civilization. After breakfast in Jhinu Danda, you'll set off on the trail towards Nayapul, retracing your steps along the same route you took on the first day of your trek. The descent is relatively gentle, allowing you to enjoy the scenery one last time before bidding farewell to the mountains. Upon reaching Nayapul, you'll meet your transport for the drive back to Pokhara. The journey offers stunning views of the countryside, with opportunities to stop at local villages and viewpoints along the way. Once you arrive in Pokhara, you'll check into your hotel and have the rest of the day free to relax and explore the city at your leisure.
Day 08: Sightseeing in Pokhara and Fly to Kathmandu (B/D) 30 min
Today is dedicated to exploring the enchanting city of Pokhara, known for its natural beauty and laid-back atmosphere. After breakfast, you'll set out on a sightseeing tour of Pokhara's top attractions, including Phewa Lake, where you can enjoy a boat ride with views of the surrounding mountains reflected in the tranquil waters. You'll also visit Davis Falls, a mesmerizing waterfall that plunges into an underground gorge, and the World Peace Pagoda, a serene Buddhist stupa offering panoramic views of Pokhara Valley and the Annapurna range. In the afternoon, you'll head to Pokhara Airport for your flight back to Kathmandu. The flight provides one last opportunity to admire the majestic Himalayas from the air before returning to the bustling capital city.
Day 09: Departure to Kathmandu Airport (B)
