Tour Overview

A unique ride through some of the most dramatic landscapes to be found in Europe. These islands are of volcanic origin. Lanzarote suffered a series of eruptions in the 18th century and as a result has some fascinating volcano and lava scenery. The architectural works of César Manrique form a valuable complement to the volcanic environment and are a must. The benign climate, neither hot in summer nor cold in winter, means that cycling is possible all year round.

Day 1 : Arrival In Costa Teguise

Location: Costa Teguise

Accommodation: Hotel

Today we arrive in Lanzarote. Transfer from Arrecife Airport to the hotel. The rest of the day is free to enjoy the beach resort of Costa Teguise.

Day 2 : Costa Teguise To Haría

Location: Órzola, Haría, Costa Teguise

Accommodation: Hotel

Pick up and fit bikes after breakfast and off you go! Visit César Manrique's famous and unique architectural works such as El Jardín de Cactus, Los Jameos del Agua, El Mirador del Río which form an integral part of the landscape. We also have the opportunity to visit the volcanic cave of La Cueva de los Verdes. We take in fishing villages without losing sight of the impressive Monte Corona volcano. Finally, we arrive in the picturesque village of Haría surrounded by its uncountable palm trees.

Day 3 : Haría To Teguise

Location: San Bartolomé, César Manrique Foundation, Teguise, Haría, Teguise

Accommodation: Hotel

From Haría, we take the road down towards Teguise, the one-time capital of the island. Our route gives us spectacular views down over the coast. Teguise itself is a delightful small town with typical architecture and many pleasant bars for refreshment. From here we continue towards San Bartolomé and the fascinating wine-producing area of La Geria to our hotel where we spend the next two nights in or near Teguise.

Day 4 : Roundride From Teguise

Location: Teguise, Teguise, La Santa Sport, Monumento al Campesino, escultura de César Manrique, Caleta de Famara

Accommodation: Hotel

Today is a free day spent in or near Teguise. We can choose to relax, or enjoy a round ride, or even both. Our round ride takes us towards the beautiful beach of Famara with the spectacular backdrop of volcanic cliffs. After following the coast, we head across extensive lava fields and a lunar landscape back to Teguise.

Day 5 : Teguise To Playa Blanca

Location: Playa Blanca, El Golfo Lanzarote, Teguise, Centro de visitantes e interpretación de Timanfaya, Yaiza

Accommodation: Hotel

We head towards the island’s main attraction, the Parque Nacional de Timanfaya. This is where Lanzarote's volcanic nature is at its most spectacular. The eruptions of 1730 - 1736 buried a quarter of the whole island, including several villages, and gave rise to the impressive lava and volcano landscape that we see today. Then to the south of the island, stopping en route to visit the seaside volcanic crater of El Golfo before we finally reach Playa Blanca

Day 6 : Roundride From Playa Blanca

Location: La Oliva, Corralejo, Playa Blanca, Corralejo, Parque Holandés

Accommodation: Hotel

Playa Blanca sits at the very south of the island and looks across to Fuerteventura. Today we can take a boat across to Corralejo and enjoy a visit or a ride on another island. Alternatively, we can enjoy a day in Playa Blanca and take the opportunity to visit the nearby coves and beaches of Papagayo, the best on the island and unspoilt by tourism. Another option is to visit El Golfo for a seafood lunch by the beach.

Day 7 : Playa Blanca To Arrecife.

Location: Puerto del Carmen, Arrecife, Yaiza, Playa Blanca

Accommodation: Hotel

From Playa Blanca, we head to the wine country of La Geria. Here, the unusual vineyard cultivation techniques have given rise to a fascinating landscape not to be seen anywhere else in the world, and producing some fine wines. We then descend to the coast and follow a nice promenade from Puerto del Carmen to Arrecife with its charming inland harbour of El Charco.

Day 8 : Departure From Arrecife

Location: Arrecife

Short transfer from Arrecife to Lanzarote Airport

Une semaine magnifique.

Une semaine magnifique. L’ile est splendide, et le vélo se prête très bien à sa découverte. Nous étions en vélo électriques et nous avons bien fait de faire ce choix car nous aurions été incapables de faire les étapes en vélos normaux. Il y a en effet beaucoup de dénivelé et de vent. Grâce aux vélo on est tout le temps dehors, on s’imprègne vraiment de l’île, c’est dur par moment, longues lignes droites, longues montées, vent de face très fort, mais les beaux paysages, les beaux hotels, les bons restaurants sont des récompenses pour les efforts de la journée. Nous recommandons vraiment ce séjour. Et 10/10 pour l’organisation du séjour à Terre d’av et ses prestataires sur place.

Lanzarote est très appropriée pour la pratique du cyclisme. Des pistes cyclables parfois, des espaces vélos sur les routes et des voitures attentives à la sécurité des cyclistes. Lanzarote est notre île préférée des Canaries : outre son climat, ses paysages volcaniques uniques et surprenant, son architecture rurale harmonieuse, toutes les magnifiques réalisations de l'architecte Cesar Manrique nous ont enchantés. Les dénivelés sont importants pour ceux qui les aiment, tout à fait abordables avec un vélo électrique si vous préférez. Préparation, organisation, conseil, dossier et application Stella, nous sommes enchantés des services proposés par Terre d'Aventure.

Paysages magnifiques

J’ai été surprise par les paysages magnifiques que ce soit le parque Timanfaya, le desert d’El Jable, les plages notamment playa Del Moro à Fuerteventura… Pas pris le temps de visiter la Casa de César Manrique à Haria. Les pentes sont dures à grimper et le vent n’aide pas. On aurait dû prendre vélos électriques. Sinon soleil présent toute la semaine et ça c’était top !
