Day 1: Rome Arrival

Welcome to Italy! At the airport, you will be met by our local representative and transferred to your hotel. After checking in enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. You may relax at the hotel or explore the city on your own.

Overnight in Rome

Day 2: Rome (B/-/-)

This morning you will embark on a two-and-a-half-hour tour of Rome with a local guide. This will be a great introduction to the Eternal City. You will visit several attractions such as the Caracalla Baths, Venice Square, Circo Massimo, the Capitoline Hills, and St. John Lateran. This tour will end in Vatican City, the principal centre of Christianity in the world. You may also visit the famous St. Peters Basilica. You will be provided transportation to the Trastevere district area in the evening, where you will find restaurants serving Italian, Indian, Chinese, and International cuisine. Return to the hotel will be included.

Overnight in Rome

Day 3: Rome (B/-/-)

Today you may enjoy a full day at leisure to explore Rome. The Eternal City stands as one of the finest and oldest cities in the world. The history of Rome spans over 2,500 years and it has been a centre of power, politics, culture, and development since its inception. The city is steeped in legend and mythology as there are numerous stories of how this majestic place was built. Several Roman emperors and Casers have ruled mighty Rome. This is the city where the colossal Roman Empire grew from. We recommend you visit the world-famous Colosseum (with the skip the line pass) and the Sistine Chapel, famous for its extensive and detailed decorations including the Last Judgement fresco by Michelangelo and the ceiling artwork. Another emblematic site to see is the Trevi Fountain. The detail of the sculptures is magnificent, and the entire facade and fountain are a true work of art signed by Nicola Salvi in 1762.

Overnight in Rome

Day 4: Rome - Orvieto - Castiglione Del Lago - Siena (B/-/-)

After breakfast, you will set off to discover Tuscany, a region that captures the beauty of Italy in its entirety. Enjoy a stop in Orvieto, the medieval mountain city covered in vines, olive groves, and cypress trees. Before entering the city, you will bask in the beautiful scenery from a fantastic viewpoint with your English-speaking guide, through a system of escalators and ramps as you enter the cape to see the veneer of its Gothic cathedral. After a comprehensive tour, you are welcome to enjoy alone time. From there you will travel to Castiglione Del Lago, a town situated on the banks of Lake Trasimeno. Later, you will head to Siena, known for its famous Piazza del Campo and Duomo. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Overnight in Siena.

Day 5: Siena - Monteriggione - San Gimignango - Florence (B/-/-)

Prepare to leave Siena and continue your journey to Monteriggioni, a magical medieval walled town. Here you may stroll along the cobbled streets and fall in love with the local shops. Next, you will travel to San Gimignano, a charming hill town with tall medieval towers and homes. Enjoy the impressive view of the city and surrounding valleys at this UNESCO World Heritage Site. After lunch, you will continue your travels to Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance.

Overnight in Florence

Day 6: Florence (B/-/-)

Begin your day with a city tour of Florence, one of the most famous cities of art and history in the world. As the cradle of the Renaissance, Florence is enchanting, romantic, and utterly irresistible. It is an incredible city to feast on world-class art and gourmet Tuscan cuisine. Florence is also where Italys fashion industry was born and bred. Here you may find many boutiques such as Guccio Gucci or Salvatore Ferragamo among other international labels. Although Florence is small, it looms large on the worlds “must-see” lists for its rich culture, history, faith, and food.

Overnight in Florence

Day 7: Florence - Pisa - Cinque Terre - Genova (B/-/-)

Today you will travel to Pisa, famous for its unique architectural structure. You will take a train up to the monumental Field of Miracles and discover the Leaning Tower. From there you will visit the Ligurian Coast and visit some of Europes most breathtaking coastlines. Discover Cinque Terre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site comprising of five villages nearly isolated by road, which live on fishing and tourism. Given the difficult access by road, you will travel by train, with a ticket included to Vernazza. This town maintains its appearance of a citadel, with the incredible church overlooking the sea. Continue your travels by train to Levanto, where the coach will wait to take you to Genova.

Overnight in Genova

Note: The train to Cinque Terre is a regular local railway service, not a tourist service. Sometimes the trains are full (it is not possible to book seats on these trains) and it may be necessary to travel standing rather than seated.

Day 8: Genova - Santa Margarita - Portofino - Milan (B/-/-)

After breakfast, you will travel to the nearby city of Santa Margarita Ligure. From there you will continue your journey to Portofino, one of the most exclusive destinations in Europe. During your free time, you may take a stroll by the sea, admire the pastel-colored houses, shop at the extravagant boutiques, or dine in one of many seafood restaurants. After lunch, your journey will continue to the busy Northern city of Milan. We recommend you visit the cathedral while you enjoy your day at leisure.

Overnight in Milan

Note: Depending on the weather conditions during the winter, sometimes the boat to Portofino is not operating. In this case, access will be by urban microbus (poor quality service with occasional long waiting times).

Day 9: Milan - Lakes Region - Verona (B/-/-)

Prepare to see some of the most scenic areas in Europe as you enter the region of the Italian Lakes! First, you will travel to Lake Orta in Orta De San Giulio, where you will discover a preserved medieval city. Then you will take the train to the center of the medieval town, along with a boat ride to the small island of San Giulio. From there you will head to Lake Maggiore. Enjoy a stop in Stresa, where you may (optionally) visit the Borromean Islands — especially Isola Bella with its beautiful gardens and palace (closed in the winter). Later, you will travel to Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet.

Overnight in Verona

Day 10: Verona - Venice (B/-/-)

After breakfast, you will enjoy time to explore the fascinating city before you depart for Venice. Expect to arrive in the romantic city around 13:00. A boat ride will be provided to the area of St Marks Square, where a local guide will lead you through the City of Canals. You will also get a chance to admire the glasswork of Murano. With free time afterwards, you may enjoy a breathtaking gondola ride along the canals.

Overnight in Venice

Day 11: Venice - Padua - San Marino - Gubbio - Perugia (B/-/-)

Get ready to depart Venice for Padova, the home of many pilgrims and the Saints Basilica. Continue to the Adriatic coast to see San Marino, a small independent country sitting on a strongly fortified mountain. After lunch, you will make your way through the beautiful mountain countryside as you cross the Apennines to Gubbio. This is a marvelously preserved town where the Palace of Consuls and the 12th-century cathedral stand out. Later, we will continue our journey to Perugia.

Overnight in Perugia

Day 12: Perugia - Assisi - Naples (B/-/-)

You will begin your day by discovering the beauty of Perugia, also known as the City of Chocolates. Explore the city with a local guide as you climb the ramps crossing the rocky outcrop. You will be surprised by its fascinating squares and stone streets. From there you will continue to Assisi, where you will have time for lunch and to see the Basilica of St Francis. Afterwards, you will travel to Naples, where you will arrive at the end of the day.

Overnight in Naples

Day 13: Naples - Capri - Sorrento - Salerno (B/-/-)

After breakfast, you may enjoy leisure time strolling around Naples. However, included today will be a boat trip to the Isle of Capri. From there you may take a boat to the breathtaking Blue Grotto or enjoy a cable car ride to Capri City. Prepare to get on board again to Sorrento, a charming tourist town situated at the foot of a cliff. Enjoy free time to stroll around the town and bask in the beautiful scenery. Later, you will continue your journey to the Gulf of Salerno.

Overnight in Salerno

Day 14: Salerno - Pompeii - Cassino - Castel Gandolfo - Rome (B/-/-)

Begin your final day on the tour by traveling to the fascinating city of Pompeii, where you will have an opportunity to admire the remains of this Roman city which was covered by the ashes from Mount Vesuvius (guided tour and entrance included). We will continue to CASSINO after lunch where you will visit its huge abbey where one of the cruelest World War II battles took place. We will visit CASTEL GANDOLFO on our way back, a lovely medieval town located in a beautiful lake area that belongs to the VATICAN and serves as the Popes summer residence. We will resume our trip to ROME. Evening arrival Enjoy the evening free at leisure.

Booked Mystical Egypt tour with them visiting Cairo and a 03 Nights Cruise from Luxor to Aswan in May. All services were perfect since the time we arrived at the airport, we were met by a hospitable Indus Representative who helped us with the purchase of local SIM and currency exchange. He was always there in time to assist for transfers. The Amwaj Cruise which we took from Luxor to Aswan was a Gem. We had great guides and all sightseeing worked like a clockwork. We enjoyed visiting Karnak Temples, Temples of Edfu, Kom Ombo and the boat ride to see Phillae Temple. Evening entertainment on cruise were great and engaging. In Cairo and Aswan, we had ample leisure time to explore on own, the Pyramids were impressive and visiting Khan e Khalili was fun. Overall and impressive and enjoyable tour, Thanks to Indus Travels!

Indus Travel runs a highly professional organization. From customer service to brochures, bookings, tour guides, etc. and the consideration for their customers is superb. This was the first time I had travelled with Indus Travels. We took the Taste of Portugal Tour. Group numbers are small, accommodation comfortable and food excellent. The expert guide who accompanied us was outstanding - passionate, informative, engaging, and entertaining. This company is obviously at the heart of the itinerary planning, and attention to detail is second to none. I would highly recommend this company to anyone wanting a fun, relaxed, educational vacation with fine food - they will deliver! We will never forget this trip and we are already planning for another one to Wonders of Italy, Vienna, Budapest, and Prague.

We were looking for a customized, small group tour. We took a chance on Indus without knowing much about the company. We just returned from our trip to Greece and are more than highly please and satisfied with our experience. They planned an amazing itinerary, booked amazing hotels, hired knowledgeable tour guides and arranged high quality transportation services. Everyone went above and beyond to please us. We are already planning a trip for next year (2024) and will definitely use Indus to do so.

07-Mar-2024

My wife and I along with three friends signed up the tour to Mexico from Indus Travel. The total 12-day Maya Culture trip really gave us opportunities to learn Mexico indigenous cultures thoroughly. We have seen a lot of ruins and pyramids, each of them has different representations and can tell the history of what was happening atthat time. We also had chances to visit the indigenous families toexperence the real Mexican people's life inthe rural area. The views of volcanoes, villages and canyons are also unforgettable. This is a small group with total 7 tourists, our driver/tour guide is a very experienced guide, he explained the history in sequence of events in and out. Most of all with 2500km driving he made us fell safe with his skills. All in all, this trip worths a 5+ star. I was so surprised that Indus Travel assigned a tour coordinator dedicated to our group, Kathlene helped a lot to make the arrangement for the whole trip and made us worry free.

13-Nov-2023

I booked a trip with Indus to South Africa and had a fabulous time! It was easy to book the trip online and any questions I had were answered very quickly by Sabine. The hotels we stayed at were very nice and in good locations. Our tours were well organized and our safari in Kruger National park was definitely a highlight. A few mornings had a bright and early start, but this allowed us to accomplish quite a lot in a day. The hotel restaurants had decent food, which was convenient if we had a longer day and didn't want to go out to eat. Overall, I was very happy with the trip and I felt the price for my tour was excellent value. I would definitely use Indus again!

04-Jan-2024

Exploring Bogota was fantastic - a lively city with so much to see. The Gold Museum was a highlight, taking us on a journey through centuries of history. We spent hours there, fascinated by the detailed exhibits showcasing the rich culture. After Bogota, we flew to St. Andres, a Caribbean paradise. Despite some rain during the 'rainy season,' the island's charm and our packed sightseeing schedule made every moment unforgettable. Activities like mangrove kayaking, snorkeling, and island hopping showcased St. Andres' natural beauty. WE even rescued a sick blue heron during our tour and transferred it to rescue services. The food was another standout. Local cuisine was not only delicious but also budget-friendly, offering a unique blend of flavors. I love seafood especially seviche, and I was trully impress by quality and diversity. But what really made our trip special was the people. Friendliness was everywhere, whether chatting with locals or getting tips on hidden gems. The genuine hospitality added an extra layer of joy to an already amazing journey. Bogota and St. Andres left a lasting impression, going beyond sightseeing to truly experience the heart and soul of these incredible destinations. Big thank you to Indus team, who put together this trip for me. I am looking forward to exploring other South American countries with Indus.

Glimpse of Egypt Quick paced tour taken after Egypt opened back up to tourists, particularly Americans. Went in November and weather was beautiful. Decent hotels and overnight Nile cruise. You will see a lot on this tour and be aware there are some early wake ups. Lots of walking but doable if you're in decent shape. Overall a fun tour with all the sites you have only seen in books!
