Day 1: ARRIVE DARWIN — KAKADU NATIONAL PARK (210 Kms Approx)
Location: Kakadu National Park
Welcome to Australia! Upon arrival at the Darwin International Airport, pick up your car to begin your self-drive journey. Driving east out of Darwin, turn left on to the Amhem Highway and head for the Kakadu National Park. Perhaps stop at Window on the Wetlands Visitor Centre and then Adelaide River for an option Jumping Crocodile Cruise. The drive is full of dramatic and colorful scenes with amazing bird life, scenic wetlands and high escarpments. A visit to the Bowaii Visitor Centre Park Headquarter is considered a must.

Day 2: KAKADU NATIONAL PARK
Location: Kakadu National Park
Enjoy full day at leisure to explore the World UNESCO heritage site of Kakadu National Park, the second largest in Australia. Home to over 280 bird species and 60 mammal species apart from thousands of insect species, it is also home to the ancient Aboriginal Rock art. This morning enjoy included 1.5 hrs Yellow Waters Cruises from Cooinda. After the Cruise, perhaps visit Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre and get introduced to their 60000-year-old history. You may also visit the Nourlangie Rock and Ubirr Rock, two iconic sights known for Aboriginal Rock art amongst hundreds of others spread over the area.

Day 3: KAKADU NATIONAL PARK – KATHERINE (Approx 310kms)
Location: Katherine
Head South on the Kakadu Highway towards Pine Creek, where you will rejoin the Stuart Highway, continue travelling southwards to reach Katherine. The Katherine Gorge is located 30 kms from the town center, here the river flows between towering walls of Color. Enjoy a 02 hours included Cruise on the Katherine Gorge, a system of 13 gorges joined by rapids. The best way to see and experience the gorge is from the waters, however other popular options of taking marked walking tracks or perhaps booking a scenic flight.

Day 4: KATHERINE – TENNANT CREEK (Approx 673kms)
Location: Tennant Creek
Start early in the morning, a very long drive awaits you. Continue south on the Stuard Highway to Tennant Creek. Travel through Daly Waters and the ghost town of Newcastle Waters, which is known to preserve many historic buildings including Jones store and Junction hotel. Tennant Creek has an interesting founding story, legend has it that the town was formed when a beer wagon broke down and the drivers stayed to drink the cargo. Tennant Creek is the hub of the sprawling Barkly Tableland — vast elevated plains of black soil with golden Mitchell grass, that cover more than 240,000 square kilometres.

Day 5: TENNANT CREEK – ALICE SPRINGS (Approx 508kms)
Location: Alice Springs
Depart Tennant Creek and continue south towards the heart of the Red Centre, Alice Springs. We suggest to stop at The Devils Marbles, on the way. 96kms south of Tennant Creek, these are fascinating natural rock formations considered sacred to Aboriginals. Continue travelling through the small townships of Barrow Creek, Ti Tree and Aileron before arriving at Alice Springs.

Day 6: ALICE SPRINGS – AYERS ROCK (Approx 463 KMS)
Location: Ayers Rock
Drive southwards as you leave Alice Springs and then take he Lasseter Highway to Yulara, 242 kms west of Erldunda. Pass Mount Connor to arrive at Ayers Rock in the afternoon. After a brief rest, we suggest to drive slowly around the Rock and marvel at its magnificence before heading to ‘Sunset Strip” to see the famous Uluru Sunset.

Day 7: AYERS ROCK
Location: Ayers Rock
Meals Included: Lunch
An entire day at leisure to explore all that Ayers Rock has to offer. Enjoy a leisurely walk around the Rock, visit the Cultural Centre, be more adventurous and hire a Harley to take a ride around the Rock or take a scenic flight. This afternoon, after the Lunch, you may choose to visit Spectacular Olgas and walk through the Valley of Winds before viewing another Spectacular Sunset.

Day 8: AYERS ROCK
Location: Ayers Rock
This morning drop off at the airport preferably before the hour you picked up your vehicle on Day 01 and fly back home.
