Day 1: Kathmandu Arrival

Day 2: Kathmandu (B/-/-)
Enjoy a tour of Nepals capital city of Kathmandu. Visit the Durbar Square, one of the three royal palace squares in the Kathmandu Valley. It is the site of the Hanuman Dhoka Palace Complex, which served as the royal Nepalese residence until the 19th century. The magnificent palace complex was initially constructed in the 16th century, with subsequent additions made during the Shah (Gurkha) dynasty in the 18th century and by the Rana rulers in the 19th century. This palace houses the King Tribhuwan Memorial Museum and the Mendra Museum. At the southern end of Durbar Square is one of the most curious attractions of Nepal, the Kumari Chowk. This gilded cage features the Raj Kumari, a young girl chosen through an ancient and mystical selection process to become the human incarnation of the Hindu mother goddess, Durba. From there you may visit the Swayambhunath, the golden spire of the 5th-century overlooking the Kathmandu Valley. This World Heritage Site is one of the most distinguishable symbols of Nepal and one of the holiest Buddhist sites in the city. Legend has it that the history of the Valley traces back to the draining of an ancient lake by an Enlightened Being. Swarms of pilgrims and red-clad monks circle the complex, spinning the prayer wheels, while the scores of monkeys that give the temple its nickname, Monkey Temple, frolic about in groups. Interestingly, the complex is scattered with shrines and statues of Buddhist and Hindu deities, where pilgrims from both faiths define the countrys religious harmony. This afternoon you will reach the Pashupatinath Temple, the holiest Hindu Temple in Nepal. This complex is considered as holy as the Ganges and is supposed to be the second residence of Lord Shiva after Mt Kailash. Cremations are performed here day and night. Â

This fascinating site is especially renowned for its protection of the One-Horned Rhinoceros, the Royal Bengal Tiger, and the Gharial Crocodile.

Day 4: Chitwan National Park (B/L/D)
Today your guide will take you into the park to search for some of the most incredible animals that live there. You may discover the Asian One-Horned Rhinoceros, Leopard, and Sloth Bear, deer, monkeys, wild boar, and hundreds of species of birds. While the Royal Bengal Tiger, being territorial and nocturnal in behavior, will typically not appear during the day, sometimes your luck can do wonders and you may enjoy an unforgettable sight of the king of the forest. You may also be able to paddle in a dugout canoe to the point where three rivers meet; the perfect place to see the parks diverse birdlife and maybe even some crocodiles. Later today you may have the chance to see a Stick Dance, a centuries-old dance performed by members of the Tharu tribe.

Day 5: Chitwan National Park - Pokhara (B/-/-)

Sit by the peaceful lake and take in the extraordinary mountain views or pay a visit to nearby cultural villages. There are plenty of activities to keep every visitor occupied.

Day 7: Pokhara - Dhulikhel (B/-/-)
After a delicious breakfast, we will drive to Dhulikhel. The snowcapped mountains you will see from Dhulikhel offer a fine panoramic. When a blue haze covers the lower portion of the mountains, they seem to be floating in the air. Discover inviting evergreen hills as you encounter ones in their natural form, and others transformed into beautifully carved agricultural terraces. Geographically, the plains gradually rise to the green mountains and further into the snow-capped Himalayas.
