Day 1: Copenhagen Arrival (-/-/-)

Welcome to Copenhagen capital of The Kingdom of Denmark. The history of Copenhagen dates to around the year 800, when it arose around a small fishing village. From the year 1300, it became the capital city. Transfer to the hotel on your own. No transfers from the airport have been included, however, we can offer these at an additional cost. Transfer by shuttle bus can also be pre-booked. Rest of the day at leisure.

Overnight in Copenhagen

Day 2: Copenhagen - Aarhus (B/-/-)

Today, after breakfast, a local guide will take you on a panoramic tour of the capital of Denmark, we will appreciate its old architecture, the district, and the port of Nyhavn. In this thousand-year-old city, its historical charm offers at the same time everything expected of a modern metropolis: theatres, museums, restaurants, shops. Other points of interest that we will pass are the Amalienborg Palace – the house of the royalty of Denmark, the Christianborg Palace where the Danish Parliament is located, the National Museum of History or the stock market building, among others. To end our tour, the very famous and well-known 'Little Mermaid' could not be missed. In the afternoon, depart to Aarhus taking the ferry in Odden.

Overnight in Aarhus

Day 3: Aarhus – Fjord Line (B/-/D)

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel, and later leave for a tour with a local guide through Aarhus; This is the second most populous city in Denmark and was named the European Capital of Culture in 2017. Its strategic location made it an important Viking city, and later a flourishing commercial place. Stop at the Romanesque-Gothic Cathedral. Free time to continue discovering the city on your own. In the afternoon we will continue to the North of Denmark to reach Hirtshals where we will board an overnight cruise to Norway.

Dinner and overnight on Board

Day 4: Stavanger – Pulpit Rock - Stavanger (B/-/-)

After your breakfast, in the morning, a walk with our escort guide to discover the charming old town of Stavanger. The rest of the day is free. We recommend doing one of the two optional activities*:

Option A: Cruise on the Lysefjord (Lysefjord). This 3-hour cruise on the Lysefjord will get us close enough to one of the fjord's waterfalls to feel the spray and then to see the Pulpit Rock towering above all the other stunning scenery.

Option B: Lysefjord Cruise + Preikestolen (Pulpit) Climb (Travellers choosing Option B will not take the morning tour of Stavanger). See our option list. *Please note only one option can be selected

Overnight in Stavanger

Day 5: Stavanger – Bergen (B/-/-)

Have your breakfast, and then take a ferry from Mortavika to Årsvågen and from Sandvikvåg to Halhjem. Arrival in Bergen and free time for lunch. In the afternoon, a panoramic tour of Bergen with a local guide to see the most emblematic places of the city, including the famous fish market and the Hanseatic quarter, a World Heritage Site (UNESCO). In the afternoon, you will have a chance to take a ride with the Floibanen funicular to the top of mountain Floyen. From there, you can admire the magnificent views of the city and its surrounding landscapes.

Overnight in Bergen

Day 6: Bergen – Flam - Balestrand (B/-/-)

After breakfast, we head to Voss to start our spectacular train trip ascending almost 900 meters with incredible views of the fjord. The train journey will start from Voss and take you to Myrdal station, which is a mountain railway station and junction, located about 13 km from the village of Flam. In Myrdal, board the famous Flåmsbana - one of the steepest train lines in the world. The train journey runs through fantastic nature, past the Rallar road, steep mountains, breathtaking waterfalls, and no less than 20 tunnels. It offers so many viewpoints that many feel like traveling multiple times between the mountain and the fjord. Arrive at Flam where you will have some free time to discover this village. The journey continues by cruise on the Sognefjord to our accommodation in Balestrand, a rural area surrounded by nature. Sognefjord - the King of Norway and the longest fjord in Norway. The initial part of the fjord, called Aurlandsfjord, is a 17-kilometer arm of the worlds second-longest fjord, the Sognefjord (204 km). It is one of the most picturesque fjords in the world.

Overnight in Balestrand

Day 7: Balestrand – Borgund Church - Oslo (B/-/-)

Post breakfast at the hotel, we will continue our route through mountains, valleys, and incredible landscapes with numerous villages scattered by nature, taking the corresponding connecting ferries. We will stop at the Borgund Church, a wooden church dating back to 1,180 AD. In the afternoon we will continue to Lake Tyrifjord and arrive in Oslo.

Overnight in Oslo

Day 8: Oslo – Vigeland Park - Karlstad (B/-/-)

Enjoy your delicious breakfast at the hotel. Guided tour of Oslo including, Frogner Park with the Vigeland sculpture complex, passing the City Hall, the Royal Palace, and the modern Opera. Booked Mystical Egypt tour with them visiting Cairo and a 03 Nights Cruise from Luxor to Aswan in May. All services were perfect since the time we arrived at the airport, we were met by a hospitable Indus Representative who helped us with the purchase of local SIM and currency exchange. He was always there in time to assist for transfers. The Amwaj Cruise which we took from Luxor to Aswan was a Gem. We had great guides and all sightseeing worked like a clockwork. We enjoyed visiting Karnak Temples, Temples of Edfu, Kom Ombo and the boat ride to see Phillae Temple. Evening entertainment on cruise were great and engaging. In Cairo and Aswan, we had ample leisure time to explore on own, the Pyramids were impressive and visiting Khan e Khalili was fun. Overall and impressive and enjoyable tour, Thanks to Indus Travels!

Indus Travel runs a highly professional organization. From customer service to brochures, bookings, tour guides, etc. and the consideration for their customers is superb. This was the first time I had travelled with Indus Travels. We took the Taste of Portugal Tour. Group numbers are small, accommodation comfortable and food excellent. The expert guide who accompanied us was outstanding - passionate, informative, engaging, and entertaining. This company is obviously at the heart of the itinerary planning, and attention to detail is second to none. I would highly recommend this company to anyone wanting a fun, relaxed, educational vacation with fine food - they will deliver! We will never forget this trip and we are already planning for another one to Wonders of Italy, Vienna, Budapest, and Prague.

We were looking for a customized, small group tour. We took a chance on Indus without knowing much about the company. We just returned from our trip to Greece and are more than highly please and satisfied with our experience. They planned an amazing itinerary, booked amazing hotels, hired knowledgeable tour guides and arranged high quality transportation services. Everyone went above and beyond to please us. We are already planning a trip for next year (2024) and will definitely use Indus to do so.

07-Mar-2024

My wife and I along with three friends signed up the tour to Mexico from Indus Travel. The total 12-day Maya Culture trip really gave us opportunities to learn Mexico indigenous cultures thoroughly. We have seen a lot of ruins and pyramids, each of them has different representations and can tell the history of what was happening atthat time. We also had chances to visit the indigenous families toexperence the real Mexican people's life inthe rural area. The views of volcanoes, villages and canyons are also unforgettable. This is a small group with total 7 tourists, our driver/tour guide is a very experienced guide, he explained the history in sequence of events in and out. Most of all with 2500km driving he made us fell safe with his skills. All in all, this trip worths a 5+ star. I was so surprised that Indus Travel assigned a tour coordinator dedicated to our group, Kathlene helped a lot to make the arrangement for the whole trip and made us worry free.

13-Nov-2023

I booked a trip with Indus to South Africa and had a fabulous time! It was easy to book the trip online and any questions I had were answered very quickly by Sabine. The hotels we stayed at were very nice and in good locations. Our tours were well organized and our safari in Kruger National park was definitely a highlight. A few mornings had a bright and early start, but this allowed us to accomplish quite a lot in a day. The hotel restaurants had decent food, which was convenient if we had a longer day and didn't want to go out to eat. Overall, I was very happy with the trip and I felt the price for my tour was excellent value. I would definitely use Indus again!

04-Jan-2024

Exploring Bogota was fantastic - a lively city with so much to see. The Gold Museum was a highlight, taking us on a journey through centuries of history. We spent hours there, fascinated by the detailed exhibits showcasing the rich culture. After Bogota, we flew to St. Andres, a Caribbean paradise. Despite some rain during the 'rainy season,' the island's charm and our packed sightseeing schedule made every moment unforgettable. Activities like mangrove kayaking, snorkeling, and island hopping showcased St. Andres' natural beauty. WE even rescued a sick blue heron during our tour and transferred it to rescue services. The food was another standout. Local cuisine was not only delicious but also budget-friendly, offering a unique blend of flavors. I love seafood especially seviche, and I was trully impress by quality and diversity. But what really made our trip special was the people. Friendliness was everywhere, whether chatting with locals or getting tips on hidden gems. The genuine hospitality added an extra layer of joy to an already amazing journey. Bogota and St. Andres left a lasting impression, going beyond sightseeing to truly experience the heart and soul of these incredible destinations. Big thank you to Indus team, who put together this trip for me. I am looking forward to exploring other South American countries with Indus.

11-Jul-2023

Glimpse of Egypt Quick paced tour taken after Egypt opened back up to tourists, particularly Americans. Went in November and weather was beautiful. Decent hotels and overnight Nile cruise. You will see a lot on this tour and be aware there are some early wake ups. Lots of walking but doable if you're in decent shape. Overall a fun tour with all the sites you have only seen in books!
