Join us and be part of this expedition of the Hidden Inca Trail and explore a unique landscape through a route of the Inca Trail with little influx of more tourists. Amazing hidden paths to Machu Picchu, a route that was covered by the thick jungle but recently the villages that dwell in these areas of Peru have revealed these remnants of remote roads to Machu Picchu, the famous Capac Ñan roads. Day 1 : CUSCO – CAPAC ÑAN – PANTICALLE – HUYRO
Location: Abra Malaga, Comunidad de Panticalle, Cusco, Huyro

We will begin with an early morning pick up in Cusco and lead us in the direction of the sacred valley. We’ll pass the town of Ollantaytambo before ascending the elevated Abra Málaga pass. This scenic drive will bring you to start the walk by a “Capac Ñan” (Inca trail). Then, we will descend, and during the walk we will appreciate the small forests of Polylepis in the births of the basins. If we are lucky we will be able to sight the bird Royal Ciclodes endemic bird, Andean bears, orchids, and much more. Certainly, you will also have the opportunity to stop by indigenous villages, home to direct descendants of the Inca people.
The route is very rugged and long taking between 04 to 05 hours. Then, we’ll arrive at the community of Panticalle which is located in a natural enclave at the foot of the snow-capped Verónica located between 3, 881 masl.
At the end of the trek in these ancient Inca Trails known as Capac Ñan, you’ll be picked up by private vehicle to head to your nightly accommodation in Huyro. The rest of the afternoon will consist of stops at two impressive Inca ruins, and visits to both a local tea and coffee plant.
Day 2 : HUYRO – INCA CARCEL – SANTA TERESA

Start your day with a tasty breakfast before exploring another section of the Capac Ñan (an Inca trail used by the Incas) in the middle of the vegetation. Therefore, covered by forests of the area, the road is 05 minutes by car from the town of Huyro to reach the sector of Sicre, continuing by a truck path access until reaching the pre-Hispanic road. Which is in perfect condition that crosses parcels of coffee plantations with an approximate distance of 1 hour. Then, we’ll continue with a visit to the spectacular “Inca Carcel” to learn more about the rich history of the Incas, and spectacular views of the stunning Salkantay peak.
As a result, a savory Peruvian lunch, test your sense of adventure with an exciting zip line to cross a river that ends in the Cocalmayo Thermal Baths. Soothe your muscles with a dip.
Day 3 : SANTA TERESA – LLACTAPATA – AGUAS CALIENTES

Enjoy a good breakfast before heading to the archaeological complex of Llactapata. Certainly, it will be part of this exploration in this sector of the Inca Trail in this remote part of the jungle. Above all, witness the song of exotic birds and beautiful orchids along the way. So, at the end of your trek in Llactapapa, which is believed to have been a rest stop on the trip to Machu Picchu, you will have your first look at the impressive Machu Picchu.
Then, we will walk for 3 hours in the Aobamba Valley until we reach the Intihuatana sector, where we will go to the government checkpoint and continue the walk. Likewise, Lunch will be included along the way and we will have the opportunity to see a series of waterfalls and admire the majesty of the mountains around Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu. Here you will also have the chance to see an astronomical solar clock used by the Incas, as well as other constructions such as the Inca citadel of Machupicchu. After 3 hours of walking, we will arrive in Aguas Calientes parallel to the train tracks that lead to this small town, the closest to Machu Picchu.
Day 4 : AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
Location: Ollantaytambo, Inca City of Machu Picchu, Cusco

This last day will start early. We will wake up around 5:00 a.m. to have breakfast and then take one of the first buses to get to Machu Picchu. There are two good reasons to be at the entrance of Machu Picchu very early:
1.- Since the Inca city is quieter in the early morning, you will also have plenty of time to take photos and enjoy the sunrise over Machu Picchu.
2.- Our guide will give you a tour of Machu Picchu telling you the history of the Inca city, temples, altars, and most famous sites. it will also take you to the classic viewpoint of Machu Picchu (The Sacred Rock), this point offers a spectacular view of the entire Inca city. After that, you will have free time to climb the mountain of Huayna Picchu Mountain. (The high mountain that dominates the bottom of Machu Picchu is optional and at an extra cost).
You will descend on tourist buses to Aguas Calientes for lunch. Depending on your train schedule, you must arrive 30 minutes before the departure time indicated at the train station. Then, once in Ollantaytambo, our private transport will be waiting for you to transfer you to your hotel in the city of Cusco culminating in this way our services.

Weather
Peru has three main climatic zones: the tropical Amazon jungle to the east. the arid coastal desert to the west. and the Andean mountains and highlands in between. However, In the Andes, which has altitudes over 3500m. Certainly, Average daily temperatures fall, below 10°C (50°F), and overnight temperatures can dip well below freezing. So, Travelers flying straight to Cuzco (3250m), or their high altitude cities, should allow several days to acclimatize since altitude sickness, or soroche can be a problem. April to November is the dry season in the mountain and altiplano (Andean Plateau). But, The wettest months are from December to March. It rains al the time in the hot and humid rainforest, but the driest months there are from April to November. However, even during the wettest months from December to March, it rarely rains for more than a few hours at a time. Along the arid coastal strip, the hot summer months are from December through March.

What type of backpack is necessary for the trip?
For this trip, we recommend a backpack that can hold between 25-60 kilograms (55-132 lbs) with clothes that are only necessary for the trek. The rest of your luggage will be left in a storeroom at your hotel in Cusco or our office. However, It is essential only to bring what is necessary because, on the second or third day, you will have to carry your backpack.

Are vegetarian, vegan, and other special dietary needs available?
Of course! Without any additional costs! When you make your reservation, please inform us of any dietary needs or requirements, including allergies. Vegetarian foods will be absent from all meats, chicken, or fish. We will assume that eggs and cheese or other lactose products are OK. Most of our main meals are buffet-style, leaving you the option to avoid anything undesirable to you. If there are any food items or veggies that you cannot stomach, perhaps onions, tomatoes, mushrooms.. etc, upon your request we will ask our chef of Cusco trek 4 days to leave them out or separate this item. We can also attend lactose-intolerant or gluten-intolerant diets. We cannot accept individuals with serious allergic or life-threatening reactions.

When must I arrive in Cusco or arrive at your office?
We require that all clients arrive in Cusco at least 48 hours before the start of your trek, although 03 nights before is ideal. Certainly, You must pay your remaining balance two days before your departure for your Cusco trek 4 days. This will ensure that all individuals are acclimatized and adjusted to the high altitude conditions to begin your trek comfortably.

Are the departure dates guaranteed. Is there a minimum for group bookings?
The only events that may jeopardize your travel dates are natural disasters or other circumstances that may put your safety at risk. Otherwise, our departures are 100% guaranteed as long as there is a minimum of 2 people.

Callao is serviced by flights from North, Central and South America, and regular direct flights from Europe (Madrid and Ansterdam) check the airport website or call 01-511-6055 for update departure and arrival schedules for domestic and international flights. Cusco has the only other airport with international service to La Paz, Bolivia.

Do I need a Visa to enter Peru?
With a few exceptions (notably some Asian, African and Communist countries), Visa are not requiered for travelers entering Peru. Tourist are permited a 30 to 90 day stay, wich is stamped into their passports and onto a turist card called Tarjeta Andina de Migracion “TAM”(Andean Immigration card), that you must return upon leaving the country. Be careful not to lose your tourist card, or you will have to queue at immigration office (oficina de migraciones), also simply known as migraciones to get a replacement card. It is a good idea to carry your passport and TAM on your pocket at all times especially when traveling in remote areas, for example: it is required by law on the Inca Trail. For security get a photocopy of both documents and keep them in a separate place form the originals.

What is the time difference between the United States and Peru?
Peru is five hours behind Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). It is the same as Eastern Standard Time (EST) in North America. Daylight Saving Time (DST) is not used in Peru, so add an hour to all of these times between the first Sunday in April and the last Sunday in October.
