Day 2 : Pushkar

Location: Pushkar, Jodhpur

Jaipur to Jodhpur (310 KM/ 6 Hrs) En route see the Pushkar.
Although it has no other temple sacred to his memory, Brahma seems to have taken full advantage of the only temple where prayers are offered to him. Not only did he perform a Yagya (ritual fire ceremony) here, but he also dropped a sacred lotus from his hands to create a lake where people take a bath before they offer prayers. There is a silver turtle at the temple entrance, which is considered a symbol of his transport.

Brahma temple is the best-known temple in Pushkar, but there are also four hundred other temples lining the banks of the lake.

Then arrive in Jodhpur city and check into your hotel.

Set out for a visit to Ghanta Ghar or the Clock Tower of Jodhpur, the most prominent landmark in the city that was built by Maharaja Sardar Singh between 1880 and 1911.

Visit the vibrant Sardar Market located near the tower. Its narrow alleyways lead to bazaars that sell vegetables, spices, Indian sweets, textiles, silver and handicrafts. It is a wonderful place to amble around at your leisure.

Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 3 : Jodhpur

Jodhpur Sight Seen
Set out in the morning to visit the Mehrangarh Fort a majestic hill-top fort sprawling over an expanse of 5 kilometres. It is one of the most formidable structures in Rajasthan. Noteworthy of these are the Moti Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Sileh Khana and Daulat Khana, which you will visit.
Next, Towards the Jaswant Thada, whose imposing white marble memorial marks the site of a royal crematorium. The four cenotaphs around here commemorate notable acts of bravery and generosity of the four successive rulers and the building inside features their royal portraits.

The sprawling temple complex comprises 1444 intricately carved pillars, 24 pillared halls accompanied by 80 domes which are borne by 400 columns. The apogee of this entire temple architecture is the fact that no two pillars in here are the same! Another exquisite aspect that has also earned the temple its name is the carving of the four-headed image of Adinath, sheltered by a 108-headed snake with numerous tails. The entire ceiling of this temple complex is bedecked with geometric designs and scrollwork.
Continue onwards to Udaipur and check into the hotel on arrival.

In the evening, set out towards Bagore-ki-Haveli, a gorgeous 18th-century haveli that has been converted into a museum showcasing Mewar art and architecture. Here, you will enjoy a "Dharohar" folk dance performance.

Jagmandir is a palace built on an island on the Lake Pichola. Also called the ‘Lake Garden Palace’, the construction for this began in 1620 and was completed around 1652. The royal family used the palace as its summer resort and for hosting parties. Interestingly, Prince Khurram - later Emperor Shah Jahan - was given shelter here when he rebelled against his father Emperor Jahangir. The Palace had such an impact on Emperor Shah Jahan that it went on to become the inspiration for one of the most magnificent Wonders of the World, The Taj Mahal.
Situated just outside Udaipur, this 19th-century palace is built on top of Bansdara hills. Used as a monsoon palace and hunting lodge, its builder, Maharana Sajjan Singh, originally planned to make it an astronomical center. The plan was cancelled with Maharana Sajjan Singh's premature death. It is still an awe-inspiring sight on the Udaipur skyline and offers spectacular views of the city and the areas around.
Picholi was the name of a village that lent its name to the lake. The islands of Jagniwas and Jagmandir are housed in this lake. Along the eastern banks of the lake lies the City Palace. A boat ride in the lake around sunset offers a breathtaking view of the Lake and City Palace.
