icon Day 1

Local departure by coach or Door-to-Door service, then to northern France for an overnight stay.

icon Day 2

Continue to Italy where we will stay overnight in the Cremona region.

icon Day 3

Arrive in Umbria today at our 4-star hotel, Abbazia Collemedio Resort & Restaurant, where we will stay for seven nights on a half-board basis. The hotel nestles amongst rolling hills, not far from Perugia.

icon Day 4 Perugia

Location:

  Perugia

Join our included excursion today to Umbria’s largest city, Perugia, a lovely medieval city rich in history and art. The historical centre reveals traces of both Etruscan and Roman civilisations; there is time to explore the well-preserved walls, cathedrals, piazzas or wander the labyrinthine alleyways.

There is the option to visit the Perugina chocolate factory, to learn (and taste!) more about one of the city’s most famous exports.

En route back to our hotel, we stop in Deruta, famous for its beautifully colourful ceramics.

icon Day 5 Free Time

Location:

  Free Time

A day at leisure to relax and enjoy the facilities on offer at the hotel or perhaps join the Chef for an optional cookery course, trying your hand at re-creating some Italian specialities.

icon Day 6 Umbrian Hilltop Towns & Wine Tasting

Location:

Umbrian Hilltop Towns & Wine Tasting

Today we visit some of Umbria’s most beguiling hilltop towns and villages on our full-day included excursion.

The honey-hued buildings of pretty Spello seemingly cling to the side of Monte Subasio, whilst Montefalco is known as the 'balcony of Umbria' for its elevated position and spectacular vistas.

We visit Spoleto which has a compact centre filled with a wealth of history; the Ponte delle Torri bridge and hilltop fortress add to the town’s attractive appearance.

The day concludes with a visit to a wine producer with a tasting of local wines.

icon Day 7 Assisi

Location:

  Assisi

Included, full-day excursion to medieval Assisi, most famous as the native town of St. Francis.

Explore the Piazza del Comune, the Basilica di San Francesco, which features frescoes by Giotto, or one of the many pink stone churches and basilicas dotted throughout the town.

To make the most of your visit, why not join our optional guided sightseeing tour?

icon Day 8 Free Time or Cortona and Lake Trasimeno

Location:

Free Time or Cortona and Lake Trasimeno

Join our optional excursion along the shores of Lake Trasimeno to reach the splendid Etruscan town of Cortona.

Enclosed by ancient stone walls, the town enjoys a dominant position overlooking the Chiana Valley with views sometimes sweeping as far as Lake Trasimeno.

We return along the opposite shore of the beautiful lake.

icon Day 9 Siena and San Gimignano

Location:

  Siena and San Gimignano

Today's included excursion takes us to the neighbouring region of Tuscany with a visit to the delightful towns of Siena and San Gimignano.

A maze of red-brick buildings, Siena is a wonderfully preserved medieval treasure trove. At its heart lies Il Campo, renowned as Italy’s most beautiful piazza, which bustles with life and is the scene of the frenetic Palio horse race twice each year.

Next we travel to San Gimignano, which is instantly recognisable by its thirteen stone towers, from which the town takes its nickname of ‘Medieval Manhattan’.

Enjoy beautiful views over the Tuscan countryside from the town’s lovely hilltop position.

icon Day 10 Florence

Location:

  Florence

En route to our overnight stay in the Cremona area, we visit the wonderful Renaissance city of Florence.

There will be time at leisure to explore the many highlights including the charismatic Ponte Vecchio, the spectacular cathedral and bustling Piazza della Signoria.

To make the most of your visit, join our optional sightseeing tour with a local guide.
