Tour Overview

Shivapuri day hike starts early in the morning at 7:30, after breakfast, we will drive from the center of the Kathmandu to Kopan Monastery. After reaching the Kapan Monastery we will start our day hike. From gradual climb up from Kapan Monastery pine forest and walking through the Tamang Village, we will reach the Nagi Gumba. Nagi Gumba is an especially for the girls and ladies located in a quiet place in the middle of Jungle. Nagi Gumba the only monastery where nuns can practice Buddhism, and a place that foreigners often visit for meditation. After observing Nagi Gumba we will hike uphill until we reach the Shivapuri Peak 8,963 feet (2,732 meters). We can observe the Hindu Holy place called Bhagh Dwar which is the main source of Bagmati River. Bagmati River is a very Holy source in Hinduism as they believe if the Bagmati River water is spilled on the dead body then their soul is believed to free in heaven according to the Hindu Culture. For the Lunch, we will have Pack lunch/Hot Lunch on the top of Shivapuri Peak.

“wow!!!! The best experience while I trip to Shivpuri day hike .it was really quiet, with amazing views of Ganesh Himal, Lang tang rolling ranges, passing through the thick green forest, and seeing an amazing view of Kathmandu valley.we have been seen spectacular view of Kathmandu valley from the top the Shivpuri peak. My guide Pasang Sherpa was really great from the same region with good knowledge, he is not only a guide he is one of the best friends. It 's very good to trip in this region for adventure, ethic culture, flora, and fauna as well as for nature lovers.”

Shivpuri national parks are located in the outskirts of Kathmandu capital city of Nepal. This day hike tour I was book my trip with the Mount Adventure Holidays. Mount Adventure Holidays team are very well organized and the guide was very much knowledgeable. My trip guide was pasang sherpa.he was very great hospitality and take cure during the trip. we started my trip early in the from my hotel and I have driven approx 30 from hotel to the starting point of the trip.i began walking from Kopan monastery to the top of the Shivpuri peak.its was wonderful trip the summit through the forest, flora and fauna monastery, wild animal along with the birds. I saw a gorgeous view of Langtang's view with Kathmandu valley from the top of the Shivpuri peak.definitely next time I will do the Kanchenjunga circuit trip with my guide pasang!!

The tour was very well organized and Pasang was very generous to take the initiative to loan us quality trekking gears. Our guide and porter were very friendly and warm, we felt really safe with them. They were very respectful and encouraging as well, frequently adjusting their pace/ the itinerary to suit us. The trek itself was amazing! Shivpuri day hike is the place to go for views and culture without the crowd. The price of the tour per pax was very reasonable considering the kind of service we got - transportation, accommodation, and meals all of reasonable quality. Will definitely approach them for future trips in Nepal!

I had this One day Shivapuri day Hike here in Kathmandu with Mount Adventure Holiday's Guide Mr. Pasang Sherpa, who was very much talented and experienced in this guiding of Historical places of Nepal. In this one day tour, we visited 3 world heritage sites of Nepal which are located in Kathmandu and are very near to the center of Kathmandu Valley 1. Bouddhanath Stupa, 2. Pashupatinath temple and 3. Swayambhunath Stupa also know as Monkey temple. I had a great time learning about the historical views of this places with their beliefs, culture, and tradition along the way which make me knowledgeable about this country's culture, tradition, and Belief. I am very much thankful to my guide Pasang for Making this tour very smooth and perfect for me and looking back to the pictures I am very much satisfied with a day tour here in Kathmandu that's why I highly recommend this Mount Adventure Holidays for planning your next tour.
