Day 1 : Itinerary

Day 1

After joining the coach, we make our way to the Warner Lakeside Coastal Village and check in.

Day 2 – Portsmouth

We spend half a day in the bustling city of Portsmouth, Britain’s only island city thanks to its geographical location on Portsea Island. Its historic dockyard is home to Lord Nelson’s HMS Victory while Gunwharf Quays is a rejuvenated area of retail outlets, bars and restaurants. Here you can climb the Spinnaker Tower for panoramic views of the surrounding area.

Day 3 – Chichester

For our second excursion, we spend half a day exploring the cathedral city of Chichester and its fantastic 200-year-old market. This charming, compact city boasts some of the country’s oldest buildings and streets, including the cathedral church of the Holy Trinity.

Day 4 – Optional excursion to Winchester Christmas Market (£12pp)

On our optional excursion, we head to Winchester and spend the afternoon at its fabulous Christmas Market. Inspired by traditional German Christmas markets, the pretty wooden chalets are situated in the Cathedral’s historic Inner Close surrounding an open-air ice rink. All the exhibitors are picked for their unique and inspiring products and festive food and drink can be found in abundance, from mulled wine, stollen and mince pies.

Day 5

After breakfast, we check out and board the coach for the journey home.

Please note: The itinerary order is subject to change.

Day 2 : Chichester

Enjoy a visit to the attractive market town of Chichester, which began as a Roman settlement. Historic remains are still evident today in the town centre, spread around the market cross. Cobbled streets steeped in history, hidden gardens, secret waterways and a range of cafés, shops and art galleries are waiting to be discovered here.

Day 3 : Winchester

The stunning Hampshire city of Winchester is situated on the edge of the rolling South Downs National Park.

England’s ancient capital is steeped in heritage and boasts an array of historic attractions, the best-known being the stunning Winchester Cathedral. With the longest medieval nave in Europe, the cathedral also contains the tombs of numerous monarchs of Wessex and Winchester and the author Jane Austen. It is also home to the Winchester Bible, one of the finest 12th-century bibles to have survived.

Climb up St Giles’ Hill from where you can see the sweep of medieval and Georgian buildings laid out below. Explore the galleries at Winchester City Museum, discover the timeless legend of King Arthur in the Great Hall – one of the finest surviving medieval halls or stroll through the water meadows beside the River Itchen. The city is also home to Winchester College – one of the oldest continuously-running schools in the country which has been used as a filming location for a number of blockbusters such as Harry Potter and Les Misérables.

Wander through Winchester’s winding streets and you will also find a wealth of shopping opportunities with chic boutiques, designer stores and big name shops along with cafés, traditional pubs and restaurants, perfect for a tipple or bite to eat!
