Itinerary
Day One – Travel by Eurostar to Holland and canal cruise
Location: Amsterdam
Accommodation Name: DoubleTree by Hilton Rotterdam Centre
Board the Eurostar in London St Pancras International and enjoy an easy four-hour journey to Amsterdam Central Station. Upon arrival, you’ll meet your tour manager and take a gentle stroll to the heart of the colourful Dutch capital. Enjoy an included canal cruise - the best way to see the city's sights - before enjoying a small amount of free time to explore the cobbled streets and winding canals of this exciting street.
In the early evening, continue to central Rotterdam and your hotel.
Day Two – Included visit to Keukenhof
Location: Keukenhof
Accommodation Name: DoubleTree by Hilton Rotterdam Centre
Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner
A wonderful day awaits you today. After breakfast at your hotel, you'll board the coach to begin the journey to the gardens at Keukenhof. Here some seven million flowers carpet the ground in a breath-taking horticultural display that attracts visitors from around the world each year.
Wander the pathways that meander through this floral paradise, perhaps stopping in one of the gardens’ restaurants and cafes for lunch. You can even take an optional canal boat ride (payable locally) along the waterways that thread their way through the stunning gardens before returning to your hotel for dinner this evening.
Day Three – Included visit to Zuider Zee
Location: Zuider Zee
Accommodation Name: DoubleTree by Hilton Rotterdam Centre
Meals Included: Dinner
The delightful villages of Holland's windmill-dotted landscape and the reclaimed Zuider Zee form the background to this morning’s tour. Stroll the pretty streets of the historic fishing village of Volendam – once trodden by the likes of Picasso and Renoir – and catch a glimpse of Dutch life through the ages in its preserved traditional houses. You’ll also enjoy behind-the-scenes insights into one of Holland’s most celebrated crafts with a wooden shoemaking demonstration, and cheese-tasting session, at a traditional local business (typically a working farm).
Later this afternoon you’ll return to your hotel to relax, freshen up and have dinner in the surrounding area.
Day Four - Included visit to The Hague and return to London
Location: The Hague
Meals Included: Breakfast
After a leisurely breakfast, you’ll depart your hotel and travel a short distance to The Hague, a northern coastal city and the country’s administrative and political centre. As it’s home to an assortment of historical buildings and museums, as well as a charming old town and beautiful beaches, there’s no shortage of things to see and do. Following time in the historical centre there will be time to enjoy the beach with its famous pier and selection of restaurants and shops.
Later in the day, you’ll return to Rotterdam’s Centraal Station to catch the evening Eurostar back to London (the journey time is around three hours and 20 minutes).
