Tour Overview
In December, take the kids on the trip of a lifetime, and watch their faces light up when they see Santa in a true Winter Wonderland.
But let’s rewind: from the first minute, this trip to Lapland feels extraordinary. Step aboard one of Newmarket Holidays’ privately chartered planes, which fly from a wide range of regional airports, and experience the excitement as you fly to the Arctic Circle. Little ones will want to press their noses up against the windows to watch the scenery move from the rolling fields of the UK to the snow-capped trees of Lapland. Touching down in Pajala, a Newmarket Holidays exclusive, you’ll find yourself in remote Swedish wilderness, being able to take in the crisp, snowy surroundings before you’re whisked off to the next part of the day.
Now the real excitement starts. Buckle up as you ride to Santa’s village, where you’ll have the place completely to yourself! You can spend the afternoon exactly as you want: race huskies across frozen fields, zoom through pine forests on a snowmobile ride and feel the true spirit of Christmas on a reindeer ride, all illuminated by red lanterns, as well as the orange glow of a winter sunset.
Unbelievably, this is all before lunchtime! You’ll have a chance to rest and take a break, enjoying a hearty lunch and a steaming berry juice before heading back out into the snow for some more fun. Then, finally, it’s time for the big event. What the kids have been waiting for this whole time. You’ll be taken down a secret path in the woods, to add to the mystery of the big man in red, before finally having a private meeting with Santa Clause. Whether they want to sit on his lap and chat, or reel off all the reasons they should be on his ‘nice’ list, the choice is all theirs.
With this magical meeting over, you’ll then be flown back to the UK. The little ones will have memories that will last a lifetime, and you’ll all be pleasantly exhausted from a fun-filled day.
Highlights
Itinerary
Day 1 : Fly to Pajala
Location: Pajala
Fly direct to Pajala in Swedish Lapland, Santa’s special airport, on a specially chartered flight. Yours will be the only flight to Pajala on this day as this location is exclusive to Newmarket Holidays and numbers are strictly limited, which means you'll have plenty of time to enjoy all the activities on offer throughout your magical day.
Day 2 : Meet your hosts
Your hosts will meet you, before you take a short, warm and comfortable coach journey to Santa's Village. Then after a quick change into the cosy, thermal garments provided, you'll head out into the snow split into groups.
Day 3 : Sleighs, sleds, snowmobiles and snow!
Enjoy a magical ride in a traditional reindeer-drawn sleigh, a trip through the countryside on a dog-sled pulled by real huskies and a thrilling snowmobile experience. Between the organised activities, you'll have quality time as a family to enjoy the snow, with toboggan rides, snowman building and snowball fights
Day 4 : Lunchtime
Once you've worked up an appetite, head into the welcoming warmth of the main building, and tuck in to a delicious lunch. Warming hot berry juice and water will also be available throughout the day.
Day 5 : Santa's home
But the highlight of the day will surely come as you set foot on the 'secret path' through the forest, and follow the twinkling lanterns to Santa's log cabin home. Get your festive wish-list ready, as he'll be waiting there to greet you personally - the perfect end to an unforgettably magical day.

Passport - British passport holders need to have at least six months validity left on their passport and it needs to be less than ten years old; passports which have a longer validity than ten years are not valid for travel once the tenth anniversary of issue has passed. These rules do not apply to travel to Ireland where you can continue to use your passport as long as it’s valid for the length of your stay.
Visa - If you’re a tourist, you do not need a visa for short trips to most EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. You’ll be able to stay for up to 90 days in any rolling 180-day period. Different rules will apply to Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus and Romania; if you visit these countries, visits to other EU countries will not count towards the 90-day total. Travel to Ireland will not change and stays there will not count towards the 90-day total.
European Travel Information & Authorisation System (ETIAS) - Towards the end of 2022, it is likely that non EU citizens will be required to apply online for an authorisation to visit most European countries. The current details suggest there will be a charge of €7 per person and the authorisation will be valid for all trips made to the EU in a three year period from issue. We will advise you of confirmed details prior to your tour’s departure.
Border Control - At border control, you may need to show proof of your return journey - your travel documentation issued by us will be sufficient for this. You will also need to use separate lanes from EU, EEA and Swiss citizens if manual checks are required.
Healthcare Cover - You should always get appropriate travel insurance with healthcare cover before you go abroad which covers pre-existing conditions. You should understand the terms and conditions of your travel insurance and be happy with its cover for healthcare and travel disruption. Newmarket sell a comprehensive travel insurance policy. Ask our travel consultants for more information. You should also apply for a UK Global Heath Insurance Card (GHIC) which lets you get urgent state healthcare in Europe at a reduced cost or sometimes for free. Note GHIC is only valid in EU countries and not in Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.
Mobile Roaming - Roaming charges have been re-introduced by some UK providers when visiting the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. Prior to travel, please do check with your phone operator for the most up to date information.

Airport development fees
An Airport Development Fee has been introduced at a few UK Airports. You will be required to pay this charge at the following airports prior to checking in for your flight: Blackpool, Newquay and Norwich. The amount varies from airport to airport, but it is generally between £5 and £10 per person. Please visit the airport's website for further information.Travelling to Europe
