Festive King Ramses - 13 days

By far this has been my favourite overseas holiday! We arrived a day early and did a tour with MoMo to Alexandria, which I think is a must-do as it gives you better understanding of the Greek and Roman influence on Egypt. I chose this tour as it fits in all the highlights of Egypt. I couldn't pick just one highlight of the tour - standing in the middle of a pyramid, watching the sunrise as we did hot air ballooning over Luxor, the temples and seeing the beautiful paintings in the tombs. If you are going over New Years the cruise is a must. The weather is quite cold outside so I have no regrets in this instance for not doing the felucca ride (which would be perfect for the warmer months!) The party onboard was a lot of fun and the staff onboard were wonderful and gave us quite a feast for New Years. While other tours let you go straight back to Cairo after being in Luxor, I highly recommend heading to Hurghada. After having incredibly busy days it is nice to unwind and enjoy a beautiful resort. Even in Winter the Red Sea is warm and great for snorkeling and scuba diving. Hurghada was a must-go place for me as I had arranged my own private tours there to scuba dive (so if you are a scuba diver, this tour is a good one to choose as you have a lot of free time for water sports) and do a few other adventure activities. Our tour guide Mo Mo was great and went above and beyond to give us the best experience possible. He is an excellent ambassador for his country and would invite us out to share meals with him at local venues in his free time - and these were some of the best meals of the trip. He created a sense of unity for the tour group and assisted us in facilitating great relationships with one another. We also had another tour guide Adham on the cruise as Mo Mo was on the felucca with others. Adham was great as well and I cannot fault him. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wanted to visit Egypt. It far exceeded my expectations and gave me a bit of a taste of each place in a short period of time. It has made me want to return and further explore a few places like Aswan and enjoy more leisure time in Hurghada.

It has been a dream of mine for many years to visit Egypt and this year I decided to stop day dreaming about going and actually book a Christmas trip. I have travelled with On The Go before so I knew that the trip would be good, but in reality it was superb and that was because of our fantastic guide Momo. Momo is one of the best tour guides I have come across. He is really passionate about Egypt and it clearly brings him great joy to share his extensive knowledge with people who are eager to soak up the rich culture and history of the country. Momo guided us around some of the most awe inspiring sights I have ever seen including the Pyramids, Philae Temple, Valley of the Kings and Karnak. This trip really was superb and I would recommend Egypt to anyone as a wonderful place to visit.

Hands down the best 13 days EVER! Largely due to our amazing guide Dino :) Dino wasn't just a guide, he was very much part of the group joining us for evening drinks, meals, additional excursions and generally just hanging out with us socially. It didn't feel like we were just being chaperoned around and educated on the key sites (although he did a fantastic job of that as well), Dino was more like a new friend proudly showing us his country, history and culture. He is a fantastic ambassador for On The Go Tours and Egypt in general and I 100% back him for a Leadership Award! Good Luck Dino and enormous thanks again for an amazing trip!

First of all I would like to let all the readers know that Egypt is a beautiful, safe and spectacular country that will go way beyond your expectations...You wiill leave wanting more! The King Ramses tour is a perfect way to see the culture and history of Egypt. It really takes you throughout the country by train and bus and explore different aspects of Egypt. Loved how the tour ended with a few days in Hurghada so we could rest and relax before heading home. From the moment we arrived in Cairo On the Go had a rep waiting and welcoming us at the airport. I don't think I can express it enough how professional and warm hearted your tour guides are. We had Momo for most of our tour and Adham on our Nile Cruise. Both very knowledgeable and friendly guides. Momo is right in his element with what he does...His knowledge and passion for his country is evident in his energy and storytelling with every site we visited and through his detailed answers. He was always so patient with the questions and always had a very detailed answer...some of which he may have had to repeat over and over again...But always with a smile. We couldn't have asked for a better guide. Each day was filled with laughter and adventure and memories that will be with us for a lifetime. No matter the situation Momo always went out of his way to make sure everyone was happy and okay from day 1 right until we said our goodbyes at the end of the tour. I have done several tours now over the years and Momo has set the bar so high with characteristics of what a tour guide should be. All three of us who traveled together agree that without MOMO our Egypt experience just would have not been the same...He called our group "family" and he definitely treated us all that way... Actually felt like all 32 people on the tour were family...It was hard to say good-bye. Keep up the wonderful work Momo and know you have truly left us wanting to come back to your beautiful country and we hope you can guide us again one day on a future tour.😀

Egypt is a country that needs to be seen with an experienced eye and our guide MOMO did not disappoint. His passion and knowledge of the sites and country helped solidify our fascination with Egypt. With the tour we were able to experience so many facets of the country. I would highly recommend the tour to anyone interested in visiting.

This was an amazing tour! I was travelling in a family group of 3 adults and 3 teens and we all loved it. There were so many experiences - tombs, temples, sailing down the Nile, markets, delicious food, driving though the desert, along the Nile, through villages and crazy Cairo traffic. Highlights were the felucca cruise (if you like camping, go for it!), Abu Simbel, Valley of the Kings, and Queen Nefartari's tomb (expensive but worth it!), camel ride at the pyramids, snorkelling in Hurghada, the Egyptian Museum, and the temples at Luxor. So much history and so many adventures! New Year's Eve on the felucca with the Nubian crew playing drums and everyone dancing was magical. I recommend staying in Hurghada for 4 nights instead of 2 if at all possible. It was a wonderful place to relax after the busy days of touring. Great snorkelling! We were so well taken care of by OTG and our guide Alam. Alam was incredibly knowledgeable and organized. He explained everything very well, called us his family and went above and beyond to make sure we had the best possible experience, that all our questions were answered and that we all felt safe and secure. In fact at no time did I feel unsafe, even at night in the streets or market or train platform. The Egyptian people were very friendly and welcoming, if not a little too eager to sell us their wares, but all part of the cultural experience! I highly recommend this tour!

Great guide. Mostly great tour. An extra day on the felluca would have been good and i donlt think quite so many early starts were needed.
