Indonesia 12 Day Tour

The 12-day tour to Java and Bali was amazing and I can (and will) recommend it to everyone! It was a really nice way to get a grasp of how beautiful Indonesia is. During the 12 days you see and do a lot of things (waterfall, temples, monkey forest, riceterraces, etc..). My personal favourites were; the sunrise and hike to the Bromo volcano in Java, the surf lessons at red island and snorkeling with green sea turtles in Gili T! I really feel like I fully experienced Indonesia. To see all of this, a few travel days are necessary, but for me that was more than worth it and it definitely paid off. It also did not bother me since the transport was well organized (on time, and comfortable). For me it was the first time to travel with a tour, and I really enjoyed it. It is so nice that everything is organized, that you know what you are going to do each day, and that you dont have the feeling you miss out on something. I also liked travelling in a tour because you then travel with other people. I really liked the people in the group we travelled with. We really had a fun time and were a tight group. Now after 1 day, I already miss being around them, I hope we will meet up again one day.. I also think that the price for this tour is relatively cheap for what you get. You stay in some amazing accomodations (Kubuku and red islands were just a dream). And a lot is included (transport; jeeps, ferrys, trains, vans, boats and snorkel equipment, entrances, many meals/breakfast, guides, surflessons etc.). And then finally (and maybe most importantly?) what really contributed to make this experience a "one life experience" was the tour guide, Kate Justice. She really made the tour amazing. Besides from having a great sense of humor and being a lot of fun, she informed us well about the planning, activities, things that could happen, culture and history. You really knew what to expect and I personally really value that to know what you are up to. She also made sure we had a good time, by organizing games, quizzes, good songs in the car, nice chats, etc. She also made sure everyone felt comfortable and got included. If there would have been a problem, I would for sure have approached her, and I think it is important that a guide has that quality. It is ashame that she doesn't do the Sri Lanka or Japan tour in the near future, otherwise I think I would have booked one again really soon (; For now, I first have to finish my study , but after that it is most likely that I go on another One Life Adventure Tour again !

My trip through Indonesia was unreal. I chose to tour with One Life for a second time because everything is always thoroughly organised and runs smoothly without hiccups. The company chooses activities off the beaten track which makes it a more unique and special experience. The guides also educate everyone about being responsible tourists and don’t partake in any activities that are not ethical (ie. animal tourism) which is something I feel strongly about. Some travel days can be long but it’s far from not being worth it. Mt Bromo was breathtaking and I can’t say I would’ve seen any of Java if I didn’t go with One Life. I love an active holiday that includes a bunch of outdoor activities (snorkelling, hiking, waterfalls, surfing etc.) and I got all that with this trip. Kate is honestly the best guide out. She’ll go above and beyond for all her guests to ensure they have the best experience possible. She felt like our best mate rather than our tour guide. I can’t fault her. She’s patient, funny, kind and so passionate about her job. Her love of the ocean and environment in general is evident and she’s a world of knowledge. You know you’ve had a great tour guide and crew when you’re incredibly sad to be leaving. The last 12 days have been unforgettable. I’ll definitely be travelling with One Life again in the future!

I loved the tour! It is a perfect mixture of going to the beach (swim and snorkeling) or hiking; being more in the hidden nature and being in typically more touristic places. You see a lot of the highlights of several destinations. What I also enjoyed is, that there was never a rush. If we liked a place there was no problem to stay a few minutes later (if we didn’t have to catch a train or so). So we could enjoy everything to a maximum. The accommodations were better than I imagined. Some are just little paradises and every single one has a pool! Furthermore you have always enough leisure to do stuff on your own if you want or just relaxe. Beside that our tour guide, Kelly, was the beeeest! It was so so much fun with her. She was more like another tour participant with the fact, that knows everything regarding the tour and if you have any question she helps and searches for the answer; gives great extra tips for other things to do at the places; tries to make sure, that everyone has a pleasant stay and is satisfied; takes the best photos of you (haha); and has such a funny and kind nature. As a tour company, one life adventures are a brilliant tour company - I have done other tours with them and there are no unexpected surprises. This tour has been beyond i could imagine and seeing 2 parts of Indonesia (bali and java) has given me such a varied experience. Surprisingly, I think i may have enjoyed Java more than bali!! Mount bromo and red island where particular highlights. My trip started off very stressful with flight delays and lost baggage, I was so lucky to be on this tour for them to help me sort this out. Kate has been a fantastic tour guide and friend - she has helped us through the worst and provided us with the best experiences. Her knowledge on sea life is brilliant and makes the snorkeling trips extra special. Her food choices were also 10/10. Maybe a downside is a couple of the long travel days but this cant be helped when you want to do Java and bali. Overall, I would recommend anyone to do this tour, especially as a solo traveler - I would never had been able to plan a trip like this alone. You will meet friends for life who also enjoy traveling and the sangria on Gili T is great ;)

This is my fourth One life tour, and for a very good reason! They are truly experts on showing you the best a country had to offer and taken you off the beaten track! Our guide Brooke, was incredible! Nothing was too much of a bother and she know all the best photo spots and knows how to make you work your angles!! She had an amazing energy and really brought everyone together to make us a family! Thanks again for another epic tour!!

What an absolutely amazing tour! You do and see so much - it was beyond what I expected. Mount Bromo in Java was the highlight of my trip but everything else was also fantastic. Everything is so well organised from the activities and local guides to the the places you stay throughout Indonesia (Shout out to the Eco Lodge is Kubuku for amazing staff, an awesome welcome, lush breakfast and the best massage!). Brooke is a credit to One Life! She went above and beyond the “tour guide” role and made sure we were all ok and happy throughout the trip! Coming from someone who is a first time solo traveller and had a lot of anxiety about coming away - she made me feel calm the whole time, always happy to listen to my 100 questions and even helped plan my time after the tour with tips on what to do and see. I can’t thank her enough for an amazing 12 days! Amazing tour guide.. amazing tour! (I cannot stop saying amazing!)

What can I say? This has been an adventure of a lifetime. This trip is truly amazing and a real eye opener to what really matters in life. To experience such a vast variety of this beautiful country is absolutely astonishing. From white sands and clear seas in Permuteran to a breathtaking sunrise in our woolly hats in Java, it is impossible to chose a favorite activity. What I love about OneLife is how we get to visit and experience 'off the beaten track' of Bali and Java and get a real sense of the culture. The philosophy of 'responsible tourism' is a huge unique point to this company as everything we do is mindful of the environment and the people who live here. This trip is 110% worth the travel as the experience gained is invaluable and I will never forget my time here. I have had made once in a lifetime memories with my incredible boyfriend, but also met the most phenomenal people and I have made friends for life. Kate has been an incredible guide and we cannot wait to rebook onto the Philippines tour with her, she is my ozzie best chick!

I could not have gone on a better tour! There was a perfect balance of activities and relaxation and I felt like I got to truly experience the culture of Indonesia. A lot of the activities took us off the beaten path away from other tourists like hiking mount Bromo and surfing on Red Island where we had a private lesson and the whole break to ourselves! I thought most of the hotels we stayed at were fabulous! We moved around quite a bit but none of them disappointed (except maybe the one at Gili T that wasn’t the cleanest and didn’t have WiFi). From our names spelled out in flower petals on our beds to incredible rooftop views, I don’t know how the other accommodations could have been better. The travel portion of the trip was quite a bit, but I thought it was completely worth it considering how much of Indonesia we saw. I do think it would be worthwhile to say in the itinerary that there are a few long bus rides (7 hours) and trains so that people get motion sickness and car sickness can plan accordingly. I think the food on this trip was really yummy, and even if you aren’t into trying the local foods or had Bali Belly there were always plenty of options. I loved our group dinner at Clear in Ubud and the food at Gili T was awesome too! Last but not least, I want to talk about my tour guide. She was incredible!! By the second day she already felt like an old friend who I could tell anything to, and I saw each and every day the little things she went out of her way to do, to make us feel comfortable and to suite all of our individual needs. She was knowledgeable, kind and it was so evident how much she cares about this tour company and taking care of our beautiful planet. I already had a great appreciation for nature and trying my best to reduce my waste, but seeing the trash on some of the beaches and participating in beach clean ups with the locals strongly reinforced what I already knew and made me want to do even better. This trip truly was a once in a lifetime adventure and I am so grateful for the amazing people I met along the way. It was an all girls trip and I really feel like I gained 8 more sisters by the end of it. I will definitely be back for another tour with Onelife!!

The Onelife Java and Bali tour is awesome. It is well organised and includes a great variety of cultural and physical activities. Snorkelling Menjangan island and climbing Mt Bromo were particular highlights and the optional midnight hike of Mt Ijen is absolutely a once in a lifetime opportunity. Brooke, who was our tour guide for the 12 day tour, was calm and attentive to all guests’ needs. She made the tour so much more enjoyable.
