Tour Overview

Our tour to Lebanon showcases the best this Middle-Eastern gem has to offer. Visit the last remaining ancient Lebanon cedar forests used in construction by the Egyptians, Ottomans and more. Explore the immense remains of the temple complex of Baalbek, and enjoy a wine tasting in Roman-constructed caves. Based in a five-star hotel in cosmopolitan Beirut, this is a fantastic opportunity to explore the past and present of this small country in the Middle East, from wandering its vast ruins and spectacular churches and immersing yourself in the natural beauty of the Jeita Grotto, to dining in carefully selected local eateries.

Only recently back on the tourist trail, Lebanon is certainly on the up; we recommend visiting soon.

Highlights

  • Explore the extraordinary remains of Baalbek
  • Visit Jeita Grotto, a natural wonder
  • Indulge in authentic Lebanese food and wine
  • Excursions to the seaside towns of Byblos and Saida, dotted with historical sites

Tyre, a UNESCO site, boasts impressive Roman remains, including streets, arcades, public buildings and one of the largest hippodromes in the region.

Finish in Maghdouche to see its most famous landmark, where Mary is believed to have waited for Jesus in a cave as he preached in Sidon.

Baalbek (once Heliopolis) has some of the most impressive and well preserved Roman temples in Lebanon, including the ‘Jupiter Temple’, whose 54 columns have survived into the modern day. The site itself has remains from centuries of occupation and construction.

8th century Anjar has strong fortifications enclosing three palaces, two hammams and a mosque.
