Tour Overview
This is a holiday that offers 7 days in what might well seem like another world. Take a fascinating culture far removed from our own, add sweeping Atlantic beaches lit by magical sunsets, views across rugged barren Atlas Mountain peaks, mountain villages where life hasn’t changed much over centuries and kasbahs which assault the senses. A heady mix. It is hard to believe all this can be enjoyed a few hours south of the UK.
We start in Marrakech, as exotic as they come. We have time to enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of this intoxicating city. Our guided tour takes the morning allowing you time to perhaps enjoy a Hamman or just relax by the pool. The Jemaa el Fna needs to be experienced by day and by night. Fortunately it is an easy and safe stroll from the hotel so can be visited anytime.
Next, we head south to the mountains and Imlil. First enjoy a mint tea, the locals favourite then enjoy a tour of this picturesque small town. We have a day walking mountain trails through simple villages enjoying a picnic perhaps under a shady walnut tree.
Yet more contrast as we head down to the Atlantic coast and the fishing town of Essaouira. Look out for goats in Argan trees beside the road on our way. The journey (and coffee stop) takes a morning, so we have time to see the town. We have a day to walk out of town and enjoy the scenery.Â
Finally, we return to Marrakech for our last night with some free time. Many might like to visit the Majorelle Gardens which can be arranged locally. Ask your Discover tour leader.
