Itinerary
Take Saga’s included UK door-to-door travel service to Gatwick for your overnight flight to Mauritius.
Day 2 Bel Ombre
You'll be met at the airport and taken to the locally rated 4-star Tamassa, An All Inclusive Resort in Bel Ombre, where you stay on an all-inclusive basis for five nights. The free Saga bar is open from 11am to midnight and serves local alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. L, D
Day 3 South Mauritius
Visit the sacred Lake of Grand Bassin, admire Chamarel Waterfalls and enjoy a tour and tasting in a rum distillery on today's included excursion. B,L,D
Day 4 Mahebourg
Enjoy a scenic drive this morning to Mahebourg to see the Naval Museum in a beautiful 18th-century Creole mansion, and visit a family-run cassava biscuit producer. Optional excursion to Trou aux Cerfs and Curepipe. B, L, D
Day 5 The tea route
This morning join an included half-day tour to delve into the island's tea history! Explore Domaine des Aubineaux – a tea plantation, and a museum and a rum distillery. B, L, D
Day 6 At leisure
Enjoy a day at leisure or perhaps go on an optional dolphin-watching trip or optional visit to Casela Nature Park. B, L, D.
Day 7 Bel Ombre-Souillac-Turtle Bay
Visit the historic village of Souillac and a garden developed by the Irish botanist Charles Telfair. Travel north and arrive at the locally rated 5-star InterContinental Mauritius Resort Balaclava Fort. B, L, D
Day 8 Turtle Bay
Explore the tropical gardens around your hotel and relax as look over the Indian ocean. Alternatively, you might like to join an optional cruise along the north shores of the island or venture on an optional underwater safari. B, L, D
Day 9 Pamplemousses Botanical Gardens
Admire the flora at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Pamplemousse and afterwards, head to the Sugar Adventure Museum which is housed in an old sugar factory. The afternoon is at leisure. B, L, D
Day 10 Cap Malheureux
Visit dramatic Cap Malheureux at the northernmost tip of the island and the Historic Marine model ship factory, where craftsmen create miniature ships. B, L, D
Day 11 Turtle Bay
Enjoy the hotel facilities or join an optional half-day tour of the capital, Port Louis. B,L,D
Day 12 Turtle Bay to Belle Mare
Travel to your final hotel, stopping for a typical Mauritian lunch at a private house. You arrive at the locally rated 4-star Solana Beach for the final four all-inclusive nights. B, L, D
Day 13 Belle Mare
Relax at your hotel, or explore independently. B,L,D
Day 14 Belle Mare
Perhaps relax on the white sandy beach or join an optional catamaran cruise along the island’s east coast. B, L, D.
Day 15 La Vallée de Ferney Nature Reserve
Nestled within Bambous Mountains, La Vallée de Ferney Nature Reserve consists of 200 hectares of preserved native forest. Enjoy an included walk through the forest before visiting a small coffee museum within the grounds of a sugar estate. B,L,D
Days 16-17 Mauritius to UK
Travel to the airport for your overnight flight home. On arrival in the UK take your included UK door-to-door travel service home. B
