We will enjoy a photo stop at the Angel of the North, offering a chance to marvel at its immense size and graceful design against the backdrop of the beautiful Northumberland landscape. We'll then continue to Sunderland and our city-centre hotel for a two-night stay.There will be time to relax in the hotel or explore the local sights at your own pace before enjoying a relaxing dinner in the hotel. A visit to Sunderland offers a lovely coastal experience with plenty to explore. The beautiful Roker and Seaburn beaches are perfect for a relaxing walk along the shore, with fresh sea air and stunning views. The city is home to the fascinating National Glass Centre, where you can watch skilled craftsmen at work and even try your hand at glassblowing! The Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens provide a peaceful spot to wander through exotic plants and learn about the area's rich history. With charming parks, interesting shops, and friendly local eateries, Sunderland is a welcoming place for a refreshing and enjoyable visit.
Day 2 Northumbrian Coast and Bamburgh Castle

Today’s included excursion takes us along the stunning Northumbrian coastline. Our first stop is the charming village of Seahouses, where you can enjoy a leisurely walk around the harbour and sample some fresh seafood from the local stalls. There are also plenty of gift shops and cosy cafés to explore.Next, we head to Holy Island, known for its unique setting, becoming completely cut off from the mainland twice a day by the tide. Crossing the causeway feels like entering a hidden world, with breathtaking views all around. You’ll have time to explore the priory and village, and, if you’re up for it, there’s a scenic mile-long walk to the castle!Our final stop is Bamburgh, where the magnificent castle towers over the landscape. Entrance is included, giving you the chance to delve into its rich history and take in the stunning views of Bamburgh beach from the castle walls.We return to the hotel for dinner.
