Day 1 : Chivay & San Juan De Chuccho

Location: Chivay, Mirador Cruz del Cóndor, San Juan de Chuccho

Very early in the morning, we will depart to the town of Chivay, in a journey of 3 hours from the city of Arequipa. Upon arrival, we will enjoy a lovely breakfast. The tour continues to the Condor viewpoints, at 3,800 meters above sea level, also known as Condors’ Cross. Here, we’ll have the great opportunity to see and admire the incredible Condor flying around. Then, we are going to reach Cabanaconde, the starting point of the trekking to Colca Canyon. Arriving to the viewpoints of Pampas de San Miguel (3,300 m), we are going to descend to the bottom of the canyon along 4.6 miles (3 hours), until we reach San Juan de Chuccho (2,400 m.a.s.l.). This town is surrounded by beautiful and abundant vegetation. Here, we will enjoy a lunch, and we are going to have the chance to learn about local fruit trees and medicinal plants. Later, we’re going to have dinner, and spend the night.

Day 2 : Oasis Of Sangalle

Location: Sangalle, Malata

Accommodation: Lodge

After breakfast, we are going to start a total trek of 2.5 miles, taking uphill and downhill paths, and visiting lovely traditional towns such as Cosñirhua, with the opportunity to admire pre Incan ruins. We will also pass through the town of Malata, where we can see its old Spanish church. We’re going have time for lunch. Hiking the Colca Canyon is an amazing experience. Admire impressive canyon views and local flora and fauna. Later, we will descend the canyon until reach the Oasis of Sangalle at 2,225 meters above sea level, to spend the night. Here, you can take a refreshing bath in the pool and enjoy lunch. We can make short tours around the oasis (optional). At night, we will enjoy a delicious dinner, and have time for a well deserve rest.

Day 3 : Back To Arequipa

Location: Mirador Antahuilque, Cabanaconde, Yanque, Chivay, Reserva Nacional Pampa Cañahuas

The day Colca Canyon tour starts very early in the morning, with an amazing trek of 3 hours (2.5 miles), ascending the slope of the canyon until we reach the town of Cabanaconde. After enjoying breakfast in this picturesque town, we will take the transport to go towards the village of Chivay. On the way, we are going to visit the viewpoint of Antahuilque, a beautiful place with amazing landscapes to Inca terraces. Also, we will stop at the town of Maca, which stands out for its stunning colonial church. The town of Yanque offers us wonderful hot springs (optional). Visit the Colca Canyon is part of the tourist circuit of south Peru. The huge valley has incredible panoramic views to volcanoes and green fields located on the banks of the Colca river. The Colca Valley is a UNESCO Global Geopark. Later, we are going to get the town of Chivay to enjoy lunch (optional). On our way back to Arequipa, we are going to have the opportunity to pass through the National Reserve of Pampa Cañahuas, home of camelids as alpaca, vicuña and llamas. Upon arrival, we will drop you off two blocks from Plaza de Armas of Arequipa.

I went on Tangol's full day walking tour of Buenos Aires and Sylvia was a very knowledgeable guide who clearly has a passion for sharing the cultural, social and political stories of Buenos Aires and how each of the neighborhoods visited help tell that story. It was a great (and well-planned) overview of BA.

We are Argentine soccer fans...

We are Argentine soccer fans and asked Tangol if they have a tour package in Rosario that includes visits to places related to Lionel Messi, like his birth house and the soccer field (potrero) he played on in childhood. Though Tangol does not have such a package, they tailored a 1-day tour based on our requests for my family (4 persons) with air tickets between Buenos Aires and Rosario, a private minivan + a tour guide in Rosario. The Tangol contact person sent detailed information, including emergency contact, a couple of days before the tour day. Using WhatsApp, she responded promptly and precisely. In Rosario, the tour guide spoke perfect American English. He was friendly to all of us, and we felt comfortable talking to him and asking him many questions. He was knowledgeable about all the places we visited and answered our questions very nicely. That was the best tour of my life!

A tad expensive for football, but a good service and availability for anything you have to do in Buenos Aires! Would recommend. We went on a great tour to watch racing club against belgrano and apart for the amazing atmosphere, our guide Martin was tremendous! We would recommend using tangol to others.

Tangol arranged a special one day tour for our family to visit Rosario, the home town of the famous Argentina soccer players like Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria. We could visit many places (e.g., Messi's birth house, school, and the soccer field, Museo del Deporte Santafesino, Estadios Rosario Central y Newell's Old Boys, etc.) and take many pitcures. Tangol arranged a tour guide and a mini-van driver for us. They were waiting for us at the airport. They were very friendly and also knowledgeable, so we enjoyed talking with them. This special tour was the one of best tours for us.

We used Tangol in Buenos Aires 5 years ago -- for a bike tour of BA, and for a tour of the Delta. We used Tangol again recently (March 2024) for a wine tasting/lunch tour at Pizzorno wines in Canelones, Uruguay. Both times service by Tangol was excellent: great tours, very good communication with Tangol, and good support in one case of what we thought was an emergency, but wasn't. Highly recommend this company

Do not use this company....

Do not use this company. On December 19, 2023, my parents went on the Iguazu Falls tour from Foz do Iguacu, Brazil, using this company. The driver they sent scammed my elderly parents, along with many others in the bus, out of an additional $10 USD per person by making them wait in the vehicle while he went to buy the park tickets. He stripped them of the opportunity to go buy the tickets themselves. This scam involved forcing my parents, along with others in the bus, to pay cash at an exchange rate of 175 Portugese Reais, which works out to approximately $35 USD for each park ticket when it should have been around $25 USD. I asked this company four times for the name and phone number of the driver but they refuse to provide the information. Furthermore, the driver then made each person pay an additional 5 Reais on the way back, claiming it was to pay for some additional fee. Lastly, this booking was done for an 8 am tour departure. The company then sent us an email stating 7:40 am pick-up, which was fine. However, the driver showed up at the hotel at 7:10 am while my mother was still eating breakfast telling her to get moving or he would leave them behind. This is the most disgusting company I have ever dealt with and even to this moment they refuse to provide the driver's information to us because are protecting his scam from the police. I petitioned Viator for a refund for at least one of the tickets but this Tangol company lied to them stating that my parents chose to do the conversion at a much higher market exchange rate with the driver. I hope others that were in the same bus come forward.

They cancelled a tour the day before-- Pope Francis in Buenos Aires. If you offer a tour I think it is important to go and do the tour as opposed to canceling the day prior. Super frustrating. Would not book with them again.
