Tonight, your Tauck Hawaii tour begins with an exclusive evening – a private after-hours tour, welcome reception and dinner with entertainment at Iolani Palace, the opulent official residence of Hawaii's former monarchy. Built in 1882, this National Historic Landmark reigns as the only official state residence of royalty in the United States.

Day 3 : Meet An Oahu "Beach Boy" & Ride An Outrigger

Location: Honolulu

Accommodation: Resort

Accommodation Name: The Royal Hawaiian

Meals Included: Breakfast

Circle the windward side of Oahu this morning for a tour of its southeastern beaches, bays and birds, including the beach featured in the film From Here To Eternity. Back on Waikiki Beach, discover an ancient cultural tradition when you take a ride aboard an "outrigger canoe" – used for fishing and transport along Hawaiian shores for over 2,000 years.  The remainder of the day is free to enjoy the pleasures of Waikiki as you please.

Day 4 : Fly To The Big Island And Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

Location: Island of Hawai'i, Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park

Accommodation: Hotel

Accommodation Name: Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner,

Fly to the youngest of the islands, the Big Island of Hawaii, home to Mauna Loa and Kilauea, two of the world’s most active and accessible volcanoes; the gentleness of their eruptions allows visits to the edges of their active vents. In 1866, when Mark Twain saw the sizzling lava of Kilauea, he wrote, “Here was room for the imagination to work!” At Volcanoes National Park, you’ll drive across the Kilauea Caldera (crater), where views vary from desert to lush tropical rainforest to alpine tundra. UNESCO named the park an International Biosphere Reserve because of its outstanding scenic and scientific values. The park protects a wide diversity of ecosystems and habitat for native Hawaiian plants and animals; it is also rich in cultural and historic sites. Your day ends at your resort on the Kohala Coast in the area once known as Kalahuipua’a, the birthplace of King Kamehameha I, who unified the Hawaiian Islands in the early 19th century. The area is crisscrossed by early Hawaiian footpaths, royal fishponds and lava formations.

Day 5 : Big Island Relaxation... Or Adventure

Location: Island of Hawai'i

Accommodation: Hotel

Accommodation Name: Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii

Meals Included: Breakfast

Spend the day doing whatever interests you most on the Big Island of Hawaii. You can set off on an optional two-hour helicopter excursion for a thrilling view of Kilauea's fiery lava vents and the Big Island's coastal rainforests, available at an additional cost per person. Or you can indulge in other optional activities offered by your resort (some at additional cost). Toward evening, join us for a catamaran sail along the Kohala Coast as the sun sets on another perfect day on Tauck's Hawaii tour.

Later, visit the Painted Church overlooking Kealakekua Bay; built in 1899, this historic Roman Catholic church features extensive hand-painted scenes throughout its interior. Back at your Fairmont resort, have dinner tonight at your choice of restaurants.

Fly to the Garden Isle of Kauai, where the landscape is lush with orchids, hibiscus and plumeria. Travel to Kilohana Plantation, where you'll have lunch; translated from Hawaiian, the name Kilohana means “not to be surpassed” – and that was what sugar baron Gaylord Wilcox had in mind when he built this legendary plantation estate in 1935. Throughout the years, the plantation was a working homestead as well as the site for extravagant parties, social gatherings, diplomatic meetings and ceremonies. A luau demonstration reveals Hawaii's rich historic heritage prior to departing for your beachfront resort and an afternoon arrival; the remainder of the day is free to spend as you please.

Following some time on your own to explore Lahaina as you please, it's off to the The Fairmont Kea Lani, your beachfront resort home for the next three nights, set on the Wailea Coast. The crater is more than seven miles across, and hosts two endangered species, the nene (Hawaiian wild goose), and the silversword, a specially adapted plant. After enjoying extraordinary views from the mountaintop, learn about island agriculture as you descend through Maui's upcountry farmland and return to your oceanfront resort for an afternoon spent as you wish. 50th. wedding anniversary celebration

26-Mar-2018

Excellent in every way. We enjoyed every aspect. Our time at the Hawaiian Princess and Fairmont Lei Lani were especially enjoyable.

24-Aug-2018

All was perfect, guide, restaurants, transportation, venues, hotels. One fix is required, the food at the fina Luau was more than disappointing. Loved the coffee plantation.

The Best of Hawaii July-Aug 2017

16-Aug-2017

We are seasoned travelers--40 countries and counting--and this was our third Tauck trip. It exceeded our expectations and our tour guide, MINNA was extraordinary. It was the perfect itinerary of touring historic sites, seeing incredible landscapes, sunsets and learning about Hawaii's history. Definitely book the Big Island helicopter tour! We loved the sunset catamaran sailing with its friendly and dedicated staff, the lovely personality and dedication of our tour director, Minna, having free time to snorkel, swim and connect with our new Tauck friends, having a blast with our group at our cooking class, the top-notch resorts, canoe rigger surfing on Oahu, and so much more!

I love the pace of the entire trip plan 12 days;some educational history of the Islands, and the most outstanding Tour Director;always has a smiling face and keep everyone happy;if someone fell and so forth, she is at their side and not a monent that she miss anything. All 34 of us had such laughable time and how she handled everyone. Everyday I am laughing because our Tauck Director had made my memorable trip from beginning to the end.

Best of Hawaii

11-Jun-2018

Aloha, It was a fabulous vacation! Our tour guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable, always on top of things. We will definitely tour with Tauck again. Resorts were the best! Mahalo! The views from the crater on Maui. Breathtaking!

Amazing 50th State Adventure

03-Mar-2017

Aloha. Tour Director was outstanding and guided us seamlessly on our four island adventure. Got to experience a variety of landscapes, amazing vistas, wonderful cuisine, and terrific fellow travelers. The resorts were top notch and we enjoyed having some free time on each island to just relax or get out on our own. Difficult to select one most memorable moment so here are a few. Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor. Tour and dinner at Iolani Palace. Active lava flows and humpback whales on the Big Island. Haleakala Crater and cooking school on Maui. On our own we did the Road to Hana. And there is so much more!

The Best of Hawaii

14-Aug-2018

Our trip was fantastic. We loved the organization that our tour director showed. The food was elegant and abundant. Our plane flights were horrendous, but Tauck had no part of them. I do wish we had gone to a botanical gardens as I expected more exotic flowers. It was a bit of disappointment with not going to Kilauea and the park. My most memorable moment was the outrigger ride. But my granddaughter and I went on an underwater scooter ride. The tour director has info on that. This trip was great in that it has things for older and younger people to do. In all, the trip was fabulous. I really enjoy Tauck tours.

A vacation in paradise!

20-Apr-2015

Our tour director was truly a Tauck treasure! Tauck moved us easily from island to island with a good balance of sightseeing and time to enjoy the resorts. Highlights were the Iolani Palace tour and welcome dinner, the outrigger canoe ride on Waikiki, the helicopter trip in Kaui, the trip up Haleakula, and the catamaran sunset sail. It is hard to choose- between the outrigger canoe ride and the helicopter tour of Kaui.

Great companions, great guide, great hotels, food and weather

13-May-2015

It was a wonderful overview of the main islands. I would like to return and have a more relaxing experience but this was amazing for all we were able to experience. Now I've seen the "must see" places. Helicopter tours on Kawai and Hawaii. Sunsets.

The Leisure of Hawaii

07-Feb-2018

The hotels were truly fantastic. The trip leader was excellent, very knowledgable and very pleasant. The Best of Hawaii should include more visits to the sights instead of too much leisure time. In Oahu, a visit to the Missouri would have been lovely. Another example is the drive to Hana on Maui. Lunch or dinner should be included every day. The helicopter rides that I took extra. Amazing topology on the Big Island.
