Itinerary

Days 1-2

Our VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your flights to Auckland.

Day 3

We arrive in Auckland early afternoon and transfer to our hotel.

Day 4

We leave Auckland behind to travel towards the Bay of Islands. We’ll stop en route at the Waipoua Kauri Forest, where you’ll lay eyes on the mighty Tane Mahuta; a 2,000-year-old Kauri tree. Nearly 18 metres to the first branch and a huge 4.4 metres in diameter, Tane Mahuta has earned the nickname ‘The Lord of the Forest’.
We’ll continue to the golden sand beaches, secluded coves and turquoise waters of Bay of Islands. The area is also a place of historical significance, as the site of the first permanent British settlement in New Zealand.

Day 5

Most of the activity around the Bay of Islands is centred around the invitingly blue waters, whether that’s surfing, fishing, diving or cruising in the company of dolphins. On our cruise of Cape Brett this morning, we’ll uncover different views of the Bay of Islands - and you’ll get an up-close look of the famous ‘Hole in the Rock’.
The Bay of Islands is known to Maori people as Pewhairangi and this afternoon, we’ll learn more about the history of the area at the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. On this site in 1840, New Zealand’s founding document was signed. Through two museums, a guided tour and a powerful Maori cultural performance, you’ll come to appreciate how special this area is.

Day 6

You have today free to spend as you please.

Day 7

We’ll make our way back to Auckland today via subtropical Whangarei, surrounded by striking natural beauty. Mount Parihaka is the highest point in the city and offers the best views, while the town itself is a charming mix of colonial architecture, stylish cafés, art galleries and speciality shops.
We continue along the Hibiscus Coast to Auckland, where you can spend the rest of the day as you please.

Day 8

Auckland is a city skyline surrounded by natural delights. Beautiful waters, rainforests, thermal springs and volcanic cones are just the start. We’ll enjoy a tour this morning, visiting the famous Bastion Point overlooking Rangitoto Island and the newly created Britomart and Commercial Bay architecture. This afternoon we depart for the port where we’ll embark our ship.

Day 9

We arrive in Tauranga, the fastest growing provincial area in New Zealand, boasting an abundance of pristine beaches, blooming orchards and prominent hills. The region is rich in Maori history. The bubbling hot springs of Rotorua are one of the best-loved activities in the area.

Day 10

Napier is famed for its curving art deco buildings which were built following a great earthquake and fire in 1931. It is perched on the coastline of Hawkes Bay - one of New Zealand’s leading wine-producing regions, with more than 50 leading wineries. The town also offers a rare opportunity to glimpse a kiwi at the National Aquarium.

Day 11

Your day is free to spend on the ship or taking advantage of the many facilities on board.

Day 12

You’ll have a whole day to revel in the characterful and completely charming city of Christchurch today. The capital of the South Island is known as the most ‘English’ of New Zealand’s cities. It’s a city of regeneration and innovation and it’s constantly changing. In the city centre, cutting-edge architecture jostles with some of the oldest buildings in New Zealand. Hagley Park makes for a wonderful stroll through botanical gardens, fringed by the River Avon. Christchurch is also the basecamp for South Island exploration.

Day 13

Strolling along Timaru’s hilly streets, past its Edwardian and Victorian buildings and green spaces, you couldn’t imagine that the city is built on the lava flows of a now extinct volcano. The city’s backdrop of the Southern Alps is complemented by a rose garden, boardwalk and beach. Or you can head to Centennial Park for picturesque picnic spots and walking trails.

Day 14

We’ll arrive early in Port Chalmers for Dunedin, the distinctly Scottish city of spires, chimneys and glorious Victorian and Edwardian buildings that lie at the head of a long fiord. Outside the city, the Otago Peninsula is lined with scenic beaches and home to rare birdlife like the royal albatross and yellow-eyed penguin.

Day 15

When visiting New Zealand, ‘incredible landscapes’ is usually high on everyone’s wishlist. Visitors find just that and then some in Fiordland National Park. This stunning 12,000-square-kilometre park of mountains, lakes, fjords and rainforests, is mostly untouched by settlers over the years - the steep peaks and wet landscapes acting as a deterrent.
We’ll spend a day in complete awe as we sail through some of the most spectacular scenery in the world, where waterfalls tumble down impossibly green peaks and the mirror-like water is perfectly still and peaceful.

Days 16-17

Day 18

Hobart is compact enough to easily explore on foot. Start at the sandstone area of Salamanca Place with its artist studios, and then roam the quaint streets of Battery Point, one of Hobart’s oldest neighbourhoods. Head out of town to meet the endemic Tasmanian devil or learn more about Tasmania’s dark - but fascinating - past in the convict centre of Port Arthur.

Day 19

Day 20

Welcome to this city of cutting-edge art and architecture, historic galleries and museums, beautiful Victorian railway stations, music, sport and fantastic parks full of treasures. If this isn’t enough, then hop on an excursion to one of Victoria's world-class wineries, travel along the spectacular coastline, or visit the famous penguins at nearby Phillip Island.

Day 21

Day 22

We dock in Sydney this morning and disembark after breakfast. Sydney is the oldest, largest and arguably most beautiful city in Australia. The iconic harbour is at the heart of the city but during our stay here, we’ll look further than the famous landmarks to really experience the laid-back outdoor ambience the city is known for.
First, we’ll get our bearings with a morning city tour, taking in the dazzling harbour the Sydney Opera House, the graceful Harbour Bridge and the golden sands of Bondi, before checking into our hotel this afternoon. The rest of the day is yours to spend as you please.

Day 23

Today is free to explore the city at leisure. In the old Rocks area, you’ll find a cluster of some of the city’s oldest buildings - quaint streets decorated with small houses and plenty of cafés. There’s also plenty of parkland that cuts its way through the city’s skyscrapers and it’s a great perspective to see the city from. You might spot flying foxes overhead, possums rustling in the bushes and cockatoos screeching from the treetops.
This evening we’ll enjoy a sunset dinner cruise. Watch the city light up at night as the sun sets, with the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge as the backdrop.

Day 24

A day at leisure to explore under your own steam in Sydney.

Day 25

We wave goodbye to Sydney as we fly to Cairns, the heart of Tropical North Queensland. It’s an ideal base from which to explore the wider region from, with easy access to the Great Barrier Reef, rainforest, and Outback.
The immediate areas surrounding the city are lapped by beautiful blue waters, so it’s little wonder the vibe here is more boardshorts than briefcases - and life revolves around the water. A focal point in the city is the Cairns Esplanade. Almost two kilometres of landscaped parkland fringes a busy thoroughfare and restaurant strip on one side and a natural harbour on the other. On arrival this afternoon, we check into our hotel.

Day 26

Stretching along 200km of coastline, the Great Barrier Reef is the world’s largest reef system - it’s even visible from space. But it’s not just the size that is impressive, it’s the wonderfully rich ecosystem that thrives in these waters. It is completely breathtaking and easily one of Australia’s most remarkable natural wonders.
Today you get to see the reef your way. We’ll head to Port Douglas, for an exhilarating catamaran journey across the blue Coral Sea to the reef, where you can choose to spend your time exploring as you wish. Perhaps snorkel in the sheltered coral lagoon, view the reef on a semi-submersible tour, take a trip in a glass-bottom boat or view its beauty from the underwater observatory.

Day 27

A day at leisure to spend in the city. Perhaps head down to the pier for a taste of the local life - here, an array of award-winning waterfront restaurants, cafés and bars congregate, or you could opt for a spot of shopping. Alternatively, you might like to spend some time exploring the city’s great museums and galleries - specifically the aquarium, which houses a vast range of marine life, the Great Barrier Reef in miniature and some unique experiences. Or, take a trip into the surrounding tropical parks and forests to spot some of the many species of plants, birds, mammals and reptiles inhabiting the area.

Day 28

Enjoy a final leisurely morning in Cairns before we transfer for our return flights home.

Day 29

Upon arrival, your vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.

Recently returned from the great...

08-Apr-2024

Recently returned from the great Indian rail journey. My wife and I could hardly believe the value for money. From pick ups from Durham to Heathrow and back,to the number of coach and train journeys , quality hotels, great choice of food throughout and our first night in Heathrow Hilton. What really made our trip a success was our guide, Prashant, who managed a party of twenty four very varied, sometimes a little unpredictable travellers with ease.Nothing was too much trouble for him and as a group we gelled and warmed to Prashant as he kept us safe, well informed and a little entertained by his mix of authority and humanity.Where do I begin with the tour itself ? India,a country of extremes.Poverty,wealth,order,chaos.Sometimes bleak, often breathtakingly beautiful. The people, the cities, art, architecture, flaura and fauna.Delhi,Jaipur, Amritsar,Agra, Ranthambore, Chandigarh and the icing on the cake that is Shimla. An absolute masterclass of man versus nature, the railway and buildings are an unbelievable feat, but wait until you see the dual carriageway being built on the mountainside.🤯I could go on for a very long time but I'll just post some photos. Thanks to Titan, thanks to the excellent Prashant and and a massive thanks to the other twenty two travellers who helped shape our holiday of a lifetime.🏁💜

Not merely a holiday, rather a memorable experience

29-Dec-2022

I have used other travel operators; this was the 1st time of touring with Titan----Israel, The Holy Land, from being collected from home and returned at the end of the holiday this was an unforgettable experience; the Tour Manager, a PhD Archaeology made the whole tour so interesting, he enlightened us throughout each day from an historical, archeological and Biblical viewpoint, bringing each site we visited come to life, and went over and above his remit escorting us for evening trips around the local area; thanks also to our very patient driver who coped with the very busy traffic; our hotels were good, professional and pleasant staff and really good food; I would recommend Titan to anyone looking for a fascinating tour with excellent efficient service thank you Titan nor just for a holiday for a memorable experience

We had a fantastic holiday...

26-May-2023

We had a fantastic holiday in Mississippi. Right from our chauffeur driven car picking us up to the return journey, we had a great time. The first hotel The Gaylord was amazing, absolutely huge, first class. The second The Double tree in Memphis unfortunately wasn't, the hotel was tired and very basic, the only plus was where it is situated in the centre of town, we were only there two nights so it wasn't to bad. The American Queen Steam Boat was first class all the way, thoroughly enjoyed the seven nights sailing down the Mississippi. The last hotel the Sheraton New Orleans was very comfortable too. Our guide throughout our time away was Laura Tuttle. she was amazing, very knowledgeable, and helpful. We also had a coach driver Guil, who went over and beyond to give you the best time. Other coach guides included Jim,who was so funny, and also very knowledgeably. Very entertaining throughout. The entire itinerary itinerary was very well thought out, included a huge variety of visits to different Interesting locations. Highly recommend using Titan for all your holiday destinations.

Review on “Cairo, Alexandra and...

26-Feb-2025

Review on “Cairo, Alexandra and a Nile Cruise" – 11 nights with Titan / Saga. 13-02-25 Overall the trip went very well, good journey from home with a car picking me up & transporting me from Cumbria to Heathrow & an adequate flight to Cairo with Egypt-Air. Met by our Tour Manager on arrival & transferred to our hotel. Hotel Swiss Inn Pyramids Resort was good Included Tours of The Pyramids & Alexandria were adequate Internal Transfer to Luxor was OK Our ship, The Nile Plaza was wonderful & the cruise fantastic with wonderful food, decent cabins & excellent staff. The included trips were well organised The flight home was OK with nice car & driver to take me back home. Pro’s Professional Tour Manager & knowledgeable Egyptologist for the duration of the trip. Decent hotel Excellent Nile Cruise ship serving fantastic food and excellent facilities including massage provided by very provisional masseur / masseuse Con’s Cairo hotel poorly located in October 5th City Scheduled trips often rearranged to generate time for optional extra money ones Optional trips sold at very high prices 3 unscheduled time consuming trips, an Alabaster outlet, an essential oils outlet & a Papyrus outlet – Prices in all 3 were exorbitantly high. Tour Manager & Egyptologist Tip expectation level of $60 / $80 each per person from a group of 35 – Even at the lower figure the tip alone (Without commission from the outlets & optional tours etc) works out at almost the ANNUAL salary of a Civil Engineer – Source https://www.timedoctor.com/blog/average-salary-in-egypt/ Overall summery Overall the trip offers excellent value for money, especially the pick-up & return home by car (Only one diversion to collect a couple en-route, total journey 8 hours Cumbria to Heathrow including stops) The trips included in the package were excellent as were the Hotel & Nile Cruiser. The group size of 35 was somewhat high but I’ll probably use Titan / Saga again &, with certain caveats as mentioned above, recommend them.

THE GREAT INDIAN RAIL JOURNEY!!!!...

03-Feb-2024

THE GREAT INDIAN RAIL JOURNEY!!!! (Dreadful) Avoid Titan and Saga at all costs. False descriptions of the tour and dreadful administration Returned to the UK last evening with a great sigh of relief after the worst holiday ever. 1. No block booking of airplane seats by Titan. (Husband and I sat apart on the long, overnight flight) 2. Unable to pre-book seats as Titan reference numbers did not coincide with anything. 3. Husband and I not sat together on any of the train journeys! In fact, on one occasion I was sat, alone on a sleeper carriage, a couple of carriages away from the rest of the group who were scattered over two or three carriages. Terrifying as a female to be sat alone in the midst of noisy locals!!!!! (Eventually the guide, Rahi, did come to rescue me and found a seat near the main group) 4. The guide, Rahi, would usually get off the coach and begin walking off without waiting for all the group to disembark the coach. (Spot the guide in the crowd!) 5. The guide, Rahi, refused to use any identifying prop such as a flag, hat, jacket or umbrella. Frightening to be in the manic crowds of Delhi and other crowded places to be unable to see the guide. 6. NO AUDIO HEADSET system on any excursion 7. The guide, Rahi, didn’t face the whole group, but stood sideways on and was unable to be heard by the majority. 8. OUTRAGEOUS behaviour by the guide when he enquired as to the whereabouts of my husband, whom I explained was in bed with an upset stomach and was feeling unwell. Rahi DID A REVERSE AIR PUNCH😳😳. This was in response to an earlier conversation when my husband had complained about our separate seating arrangements. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL 9. When we arrived at Heathrow to find our aircraft seats were not allocated, we were advised to speak to our guide on arrival at Delhi. Rahi merely shrugged his shoulders and said he couldn’t do anything. 10. Tour pace incorrect - gruelling pace and only half a day relaxation due to the guide, Rahi, throwing in visits to shops and factories fie him to earn his commission as I head him tell another!!!!!!! 11. When off loaded the return flight due to illness, we were unable to get in contact with Titan/Saga. Left in Delhi without an hotel or flight!!! Found accommodation but didn’t remove shoes or clothes due to the poor standard. Final summary: Poor, disappointing, inefficient, incompetent, misleading, misrepresentations, are just a few words to describe.

Luxury VIP door to door...

Luxury VIP door to door travel! I don't think so....Titan sent a Toyota Prius uber to Stanstead for a return journey to Newport, S Wales. 4 adults plus luggage! the experience was anything but luxurious. Contacted Titan on the return journey and since return. They simply didn't seem interested and offered us a £300 travel discount off a future trip! After a lot of emails they converted it to a £300 cash refund. Give it a lot of thought before booking !
