Day 1

Munich, Germany

Location: Munich

Accommodation Name: Vienna House Easy by Wyndham München (4-star)

Meals Included: Dinner

Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your flight to Munich. On arrival we’ll transfer to our hotel.

Day 2

Munich, Germany
Marienplatz Town Hall
Marienplatz Town Hall

Location: Munich, Marienplatz, Munich

Accommodation Name: Vienna House Easy by Wyndham München (4-star)

Meals Included: Breakfast

This morning we’ll get acquainted with Munich, capital of Bavaria and where Germany’s first Oktoberfest was held in 1810. We’ll head to the medieval streets and spires of the Altstadt (Old Town) whose main square - Marienplatz - has been Munich’s heart, soul and focal point since the city was founded in 1158. After a guided tour there’s free time to explore the old shops and pedestrianised streets, before we return to our hotel.
This evening, there’s the chance to get even more immersed in the traditions and culture of Bavaria on an optional visit to a local brewery for dinner and a tasting, perhaps with the accompaniment of a real oompah band.

Day 3

Munich, Germany

Location: Munich

Accommodation Name: Vienna House Easy by Wyndham München (4-star)

Meals Included: Breakfast

Another Bavarian icon today: this one, the splendid royal palace of Nymphenburg. We’ll be joined by a local guide and shown through the sumptuous rooms and galleries - many containing original furniture like the bed King Ludwig II was born on and his fairy tale rococo sleigh. Afterwards we’ll tour the smaller but equally extravagant Amalienburg. Although outwardly a hunting lodge (albeit a grand one), inside this lavishly extravagant palace drips with gilt and rich rococo style.

Day 4

Munich, Germany

Location: Munich, Tegernsee, Lake Achensee, Inntal Valley

Accommodation Name: Hotel Schwarzbrunn, Tyrol (4-star)

Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner

Today we’ll drive south from Munich on our journey into Austria and Tyrol. The route winds through the glorious Bavarian Alps, dipping and curving around its lakes, forests and slopes. We’ll stop for a snack (meats and cheese) at a local brewery in Tegernsee, a peaceful lakeside town known for its ski trails, toboggan runs and mountain footpaths, before driving on to skirt the shore of Lake Achensee, the largest and deepest lake in Tyrol. Now in Austria’s beautiful Inntal valley, we’ll spend the next four nights in a typical Tyrolean village.

Day 5

Innsbruck, Austria

Location: Innsbruck, Hofburg Palace, Nordkette Mountains

Accommodation Name: Hotel Schwarzbrunn, Tyrol (4-star)

Meals Included: Breakfast

It’s a short drive to Innsbruck, ancient capital of Tyrol and a city surrounded by mountains on all sides. After a guided tour passing the grand Hofburg palace, baroque cathedral and medieval Altstadt, this afternoon we’ll step onto the funicular and be hoisted over 2,000m into the surrounding Nordkette mountains, stepping out to alpine pastures, the distant clang of cow bells and bird’s-eye views of Innsbruck below.

Day 6

View of Richterspitze mountain range in the Austrian Tyrol. ]
Otztal valley, Tyrol, Austria

Location: Tyrol, Rattenberg, Swarovski Crystal Worlds

Accommodation Name: Hotel Schwarzbrunn, Tyrol (4-star)

Meals Included: Breakfast

Today is all about Tyrol, Austria’s picture-postcard destination in the heart of the Alps. Driving past steep green valleys and wildflower meadows dotted with chocolate-box chalets, we’ll stop for coffee and to stretch our legs at a typical Tyrolean village, before continuing to Rattenberg, Austria’s smallest town.
There’s free time for lunch in one of the lovely little restaurants in the old town, after which we’ll set our sights on the extraordinary Swarovski Crystal Worlds. This immersive exhibition centre celebrates Swarovski’s role in styling clothes, costumes and sets for stars like Elton John, Lady Gaga and Beyoncé.

Day 7

Old Town
Kolben - Oberammergau
Old Town

Location: Linderhof Palace, Ettal, Oberammergau

Accommodation Name: Hotel Schwarzbrunn, Tyrol (4-star)

Meals Included: Breakfast

This morning we’ll hop across the border back into Germany to visit one of King Ludwig II’s smallest but most fanciful creations: Linderhof Palace. Inspired by Versailles, and surrounded by gilded fountains and follies, Linderhof is eye-wateringly extravagant with jewel-studded rooms and curlicue rococo walls. A guide will walk us through the resplendent interior, after which you’re free to explore the equally elaborate gardens complete with underground lake and grotto.
Next, there’s free time for lunch in the pretty village of Ettal, before we continue through the Bavarian Alps to Oberammergau, where the famous Passion Play has been staged every 10 years since 1634.

Day 8

Location: Stams, Merano

Accommodation Name: Hotel Sonnenhof Merano (3-star)

Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner

This morning we say goodbye to Austria, but not before visiting beautiful, baroque Stams Abbey where - after a guided tour - we’ll toast its stories and history with a shot of home-made schnapps. After that we’ll set out on our next panoramic road trip and navigate the dramatic turns and hairpin bends on one of the Tyrol’s famous mountain passes (either Timelsjoch or Reschenpass) as we journey into South Tyrol and cross the border into Italy. It's then just a short drive to our next destination - the spa town Merano.

Day 9

Location: Merano, Trautmannsdorff Castle

Accommodation Name: Hotel Sonnenhof Merano (3-star)

Meals Included: Breakfast

We’ll set out on foot this morning for a guided walk around Merano. Being so close to the border you’ll still see beer stalls and strudels, but there’s a distinct Mediterranean feel in its leafy boulevards, arcaded streets, flower-fringed promenades and surrounding vineyards.
After free time for lunch, we’ll head up to Trautmannsdorff Castle for a leisurely afternoon in the botanical gardens. After admiring the abundant cacti, palms and flowerbeds filled with dazzling displays, you can either return to the hotel by coach or walk back later - the gardens stay open until late in the evening.

Day 10

Location: Bolzano, Ötzi Museum, Strada del Vino

Accommodation Name: Hotel Sonnenhof Merano (3-star)

Meals Included: Breakfast

Another day, another beautiful city as we visit Bolzano, pastel-hued capital of South Tyrol and gateway to the Italian Dolomites. A guide will show us around this handsome, green city and its pleasant riverside paths after which there’s free time for lunch, and perhaps a visit to the Ötzi Museum to see the famous ice man mummy, whose body was preserved on a South Tyrol glacier over 5,300 years ago.
This afternoon there’s a scenery-rich road trip of another kind: this one through the gentle vine-striped valleys and old wine villages of the Strada del Vino (Wine Road), stopping for a tasting along the way.

Day 11

Tip of Lake Garda, view from Riva del Garda, Italy
Torre Lamberti in Piazza delle Erbe square in Verona
The Adige River with Ponte Pietra
The colourful town of Torbole on Lake Garda, Italy
Bronze statue of Juliet and Juliet's balcony in Verona, Italy
Palazzo Giusti, Verona.

Location: Lake Garda, Verona

Accommodation Name: Hotel Europa Verona (3-star)

Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner

Leaving Merano we continue our journey south into Trentino, to the largest and most celebrated of all the Italian lakes: Lake Garda. There’s no better vantage point for soaking up the majesty of the lake - and the mountains surrounding it - than the water so we’ll swap our coach for a pleasure boat and cruise the little towns and villages along its shores.
There’s time to find a lovely little bistro or café for lunch, and ample chance to taste real Italian gelato in flavours like chocolate, pistachio and biscotti. Later we’ll rejoin our coach and drive the short distance to Verona.

Day 12

Bronze statue of Juliet and Juliet's balcony in Verona, Italy
Palazzo Giusti, Verona.
Torre Lamberti in Piazza delle Erbe square in Verona
The Adige River with Ponte Pietra

Location: Verona, Roman Amphitheatre, Verona

Accommodation Name: Hotel Europa Verona (3-star)

Meals Included: Breakfast

There’s more to Verona than Romeo and Juliet, as we’ll discover this morning on our guided walking tour. After exploring its pretty piazzas and twisting lanes, and admiring the elegant stone bridges spanning the wide, fast-flowing Adige River, there’s free time to refuel before this afternoon’s visit to Verona’s other signature attraction: the Roman Amphitheatre. Once the backdrop for gladiatorial battles and chariot racing, today the arena is a giant open-air opera house drawing around 500,000 opera lovers to its Summer Festival each year. Later, we’ll visit a local bar for a glass of velvety red Amarone, a distinct and full-bodied wine produced in the Veneto region.

Day 13

The Adige River with Ponte Pietra
Bronze statue of Juliet and Juliet's balcony in Verona, Italy
Torre Lamberti in Piazza delle Erbe square in Verona
Palazzo Giusti, Verona.

Location: Verona, Parco Giardino Sigurtà

Accommodation Name: Hotel Europa Verona (3-star)

Meals Included: Breakfast

Our last full day is at leisure - perfect for souvenir shopping, exploring independently or enjoying a last taste of your favourite Veronese flavour, be it risotto, polenta or the signature Amarone wine. Otherwise, we’ve arranged an optional visit with picnic lunch to the luxuriant gardens, lawns, lakes and woodland of Parco Giardino Sigurtà, widely heralded as one of the most beautiful parks in Italy.

Day 14

Palazzo Giusti, Verona.
Bronze statue of Juliet and Juliet's balcony in Verona, Italy

Recently returned from the great...

08-Apr-2024

Recently returned from the great Indian rail journey. My wife and I could hardly believe the value for money. From pick ups from Durham to Heathrow and back,to the number of coach and train journeys , quality hotels, great choice of food throughout and our first night in Heathrow Hilton. What really made our trip a success was our guide, Prashant, who managed a party of twenty four very varied, sometimes a little unpredictable travellers with ease.Nothing was too much trouble for him and as a group we gelled and warmed to Prashant as he kept us safe, well informed and a little entertained by his mix of authority and humanity.Where do I begin with the tour itself ? India,a country of extremes.Poverty,wealth,order,chaos.Sometimes bleak, often breathtakingly beautiful. The people, the cities, art, architecture, flaura and fauna.Delhi,Jaipur, Amritsar,Agra, Ranthambore, Chandigarh and the icing on the cake that is Shimla. An absolute masterclass of man versus nature, the railway and buildings are an unbelievable feat, but wait until you see the dual carriageway being built on the mountainside.🤯I could go on for a very long time but I'll just post some photos. Thanks to Titan, thanks to the excellent Prashant and and a massive thanks to the other twenty two travellers who helped shape our holiday of a lifetime.🏁💜

Not merely a holiday, rather a memorable experience

29-Dec-2022

I have used other travel operators; this was the 1st time of touring with Titan----Israel, The Holy Land, from being collected from home and returned at the end of the holiday this was an unforgettable experience; the Tour Manager, a PhD Archaeology made the whole tour so interesting, he enlightened us throughout each day from an historical, archeological and Biblical viewpoint, bringing each site we visited come to life, and went over and above his remit escorting us for evening trips around the local area; thanks also to our very patient driver who coped with the very busy traffic; our hotels were good, professional and pleasant staff and really good food; I would recommend Titan to anyone looking for a fascinating tour with excellent efficient service thank you Titan nor just for a holiday for a memorable experience

We had a fantastic holiday...

26-May-2023

We had a fantastic holiday in Mississippi. Right from our chauffeur driven car picking us up to the return journey, we had a great time. The first hotel The Gaylord was amazing, absolutely huge, first class. The second The Double tree in Memphis unfortunately wasn't, the hotel was tired and very basic, the only plus was where it is situated in the centre of town, we were only there two nights so it wasn't to bad. The American Queen Steam Boat was first class all the way, thoroughly enjoyed the seven nights sailing down the Mississippi. The last hotel the Sheraton New Orleans was very comfortable too. Our guide throughout our time away was Laura Tuttle. she was amazing, very knowledgeable, and helpful. We also had a coach driver Guil, who went over and beyond to give you the best time. Other coach guides included Jim,who was so funny, and also very knowledgeably. Very entertaining throughout. The entire itinerary itinerary was very well thought out, included a huge variety of visits to different Interesting locations. Highly recommend using Titan for all your holiday destinations.

Review on “Cairo, Alexandra and...

26-Feb-2025

Review on “Cairo, Alexandra and a Nile Cruise" – 11 nights with Titan / Saga. 13-02-25 Overall the trip went very well, good journey from home with a car picking me up & transporting me from Cumbria to Heathrow & an adequate flight to Cairo with Egypt-Air. Met by our Tour Manager on arrival & transferred to our hotel. Hotel Swiss Inn Pyramids Resort was good Included Tours of The Pyramids & Alexandria were adequate Internal Transfer to Luxor was OK Our ship, The Nile Plaza was wonderful & the cruise fantastic with wonderful food, decent cabins & excellent staff. The included trips were well organised The flight home was OK with nice car & driver to take me back home. Pro’s Professional Tour Manager & knowledgeable Egyptologist for the duration of the trip. Decent hotel Excellent Nile Cruise ship serving fantastic food and excellent facilities including massage provided by very provisional masseur / masseuse Con’s Cairo hotel poorly located in October 5th City Scheduled trips often rearranged to generate time for optional extra money ones Optional trips sold at very high prices 3 unscheduled time consuming trips, an Alabaster outlet, an essential oils outlet & a Papyrus outlet – Prices in all 3 were exorbitantly high. Tour Manager & Egyptologist Tip expectation level of $60 / $80 each per person from a group of 35 – Even at the lower figure the tip alone (Without commission from the outlets & optional tours etc) works out at almost the ANNUAL salary of a Civil Engineer – Source https://www.timedoctor.com/blog/average-salary-in-egypt/ Overall summery Overall the trip offers excellent value for money, especially the pick-up & return home by car (Only one diversion to collect a couple en-route, total journey 8 hours Cumbria to Heathrow including stops) The trips included in the package were excellent as were the Hotel & Nile Cruiser. The group size of 35 was somewhat high but I’ll probably use Titan / Saga again &, with certain caveats as mentioned above, recommend them.

THE GREAT INDIAN RAIL JOURNEY!!!!...

03-Feb-2024

THE GREAT INDIAN RAIL JOURNEY!!!! (Dreadful) Avoid Titan and Saga at all costs. False descriptions of the tour and dreadful administration Returned to the UK last evening with a great sigh of relief after the worst holiday ever. 1. No block booking of airplane seats by Titan. (Husband and I sat apart on the long, overnight flight) 2. Unable to pre-book seats as Titan reference numbers did not coincide with anything. 3. Husband and I not sat together on any of the train journeys! In fact, on one occasion I was sat, alone on a sleeper carriage, a couple of carriages away from the rest of the group who were scattered over two or three carriages. Terrifying as a female to be sat alone in the midst of noisy locals!!!!! (Eventually the guide, Rahi, did come to rescue me and found a seat near the main group) 4. The guide, Rahi, would usually get off the coach and begin walking off without waiting for all the group to disembark the coach. (Spot the guide in the crowd!) 5. The guide, Rahi, refused to use any identifying prop such as a flag, hat, jacket or umbrella. Frightening to be in the manic crowds of Delhi and other crowded places to be unable to see the guide. 6. NO AUDIO HEADSET system on any excursion 7. The guide, Rahi, didn’t face the whole group, but stood sideways on and was unable to be heard by the majority. 8. OUTRAGEOUS behaviour by the guide when he enquired as to the whereabouts of my husband, whom I explained was in bed with an upset stomach and was feeling unwell. Rahi DID A REVERSE AIR PUNCH😳😳. This was in response to an earlier conversation when my husband had complained about our separate seating arrangements. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL 9. When we arrived at Heathrow to find our aircraft seats were not allocated, we were advised to speak to our guide on arrival at Delhi. Rahi merely shrugged his shoulders and said he couldn’t do anything. 10. Tour pace incorrect - gruelling pace and only half a day relaxation due to the guide, Rahi, throwing in visits to shops and factories fie him to earn his commission as I head him tell another!!!!!!! 11. When off loaded the return flight due to illness, we were unable to get in contact with Titan/Saga. Left in Delhi without an hotel or flight!!! Found accommodation but didn’t remove shoes or clothes due to the poor standard. Final summary: Poor, disappointing, inefficient, incompetent, misleading, misrepresentations, are just a few words to describe.

Luxury VIP door to door travel! I don't think so....Titan sent a Toyota Prius uber to Stanstead for a return journey to Newport, S Wales. 4 adults plus luggage! the experience was anything but luxurious. Contacted Titan on the return journey and since return. They simply didn't seem interested and offered us a £300 travel discount off a future trip! After a lot of emails they converted it to a £300 cash refund. Give it a lot of thought before booking !
