Or Road to Tavira, the most authentic town in the Algarve: visit the old town with its beautiful churches: the church of Misericórdia (exterior discovery), the remains of the Moorish castle of which only the crenellated walls enclosing a beautiful garden planted with roses, bougainvillea, hibiscus, oleanders…. Splendid view over the rooftops of Tavira.

Suggestion: Head towards Mertola, a historic town on the Guadiana which offers a vision of the history of Portugal and Jewish, Islamic and Christian influences (there are the São Domingos Mines nearby), then cross the border towards Huelva, city tribute to Christopher Columbus (Palos de la Frontera).
Stop at the border towns of Ayamonte and Vila Real Santo António.

Road to Loulé in the heart of the interior Serra to discover a typical market which is located at the foot of the old town of Loulé (On Saturdays you have the outdoor fair with sellers from all over the Algarve - you will find clothes , shoes and others).
Then, drive to São Brás de Alportel where you visit a cork processing factory.
Possibility of visiting the Trajo do Algarve Museum, installed in a beautiful bourgeois house from the end of the 19th century: it presents an interesting collection of traditional costumes from the 19th and 20th centuries, old carts and cars, agricultural tools
Extra tip: Visit the cork processing factory (Nova Cortiça).
Night in Quarteira in hotel.

Departure towards Lagos: former capital of the Algarve from 1576 to 1756, this charming city has retained its charm and character.
Its beautiful walls contain alleys lined with dazzling white houses.
It is from here that most African expeditions left at the time of the great discoveries. Discovery of the walls, the Infante D. Henrique square in the center of which stands the statue of Henry the Navigator, the old slave market, which was the first market of this kind in Europe. Discovery of Ponte da Piedade: the reddish rock of the cliffs, cut by the Ocean into blocks with twisted shapes, where sea caves nestle, contrasts spectacularly with the green of the clear water.
Continuation to Sagres: swept by the wind, this Finistère, in the extreme southwest of Europe, falling steeply into the sea is a place full of history and emotion.
Discovery of the tip of Sagres, partly occupied by the fortress built in the 16th century.
Cape St Vincent dominating the ocean at 75 m has always been considered a sacred place (the Romans called it the promontorium sacrum) and is the southwest tip of Europe.

Discovery of Silves and its Castle with its walkway on the magnificently restored crenellated ramparts which offers numerous views of the town and the surrounding area.
Discovery of the cathedral with its splendid Manueline door.
Then, road towards the Serra de Monchique: going up to Monchique means discovering, almost at every turn, a panorama of sea and mountain.
Arrival at Foia, which at 902 m is the highest point in the Algarve and offers magnificent views of the region.
Then, discovery of Monchique: pleasantly nestled in the greenery on the eastern side of Foia, the small town has a church famous for its Manueline portal.
Discovery of the region's traditional craft activities: the shoemaker, the seamstress, the beekeeper, the weaver, the baker, the carpenter, the farmer, the grocery store, the animal park.
An unforgettable moment and a journey into the past.

Discovery of the white villages of the hinterland: Road to Salir: its ruined castle, built by the Moors, offers beautiful views of the Serra.
Surrounding it, in the scrubland, arbutus trees grow, the fruits of which are used to produce the famous brandy of the Algarve: aguardente de medronho.
Departure towards Alte: the white houses of this pretty village with narrow and winding streets cling to the high slopes of the Serra.
At the bottom of the village, you can admire two rural and shaded fountains, Fonte Pequena and Fonte Grande.
Discovery of the parish church: one of the chapels is completely covered with azulejos from the 18th century, while the chapel of Notre Dame de Lourdes is decorated with precious polychrome azulejos in relief of the Sevillian type from the 16th century.
